  5. Panicked eyes shot towards the beast left standing. It chuffed a breath of air from it's snout and stepped forward to sniff the bodies of it's companions. The samurai had a better view of the growths on the wolf's side as it did this, seeing veins of black that snaked through the red crystals and into the flesh of the creature. "I need to get out of here." she thought to herself, "Before this thing decides it wants something fresh to eat." The wolf whipped it's head up and glared at Katoka, as if it could hear her thoughts right then and there. A growl creeped up it's throat and rumbled f
  6. With that she heard a growling noise in the distance, growing louder as three white wolves emerged from seemingly nowhere. Katoka slowing began to back away as the creatures padded over to the meat. Two of them stopped at the haunch of meat that was covered in the gross concoction of pheromones, crystal, and what she assumed to be blight. Kat had stepped back slowly several feet to put some distance between her and the hungry monsters. She had wanted to destroy the trap before anything had been drawn to it, but at this point that would have just made the wolves attack her outright. The th
  7. Tapping the outside a windowed display opened, revealing the name of the item in the jar. "Sundered Embers?" she asked aloud, "What the hell does that mean?" Her eyes were now drawn to the dripping vial nearby. Placing the jar in her inventory she approached the tree once again, this time leaning in to tap the side of the glass to being up the item name without getting too close. A window appeared once again and Kat had to squint to read the tiny frame. "Brew of Blighted Pheromones. This is... an alchemist brewed this." Kat stepped back, trying to process the information she was taking in
  8. She cursed to herself for not being able to hear them fully and at the men for being smart. One thing was certain though, they were both players. Kat wasn't sure if this had disturbed her more or less yet. Stepping out from behind the trees the woman approached the contraption they had set up. Whatever was dripping onto the meat below seemed to make an odd pulse spread through the ground every tie it dripped down. She got as close as she could before stopping a foot or so from the meat. Just to her left the jar that the cloaked man had pulled out was sitting, seemingly forgotten in his ha
  9. Katoka stopped at a tree and peered around, finally laying eyes on the two individuals she had been hearing for the past several minutes. One was short and stout, wearing what looked like a skull mask and looking about with wild eyes. The other was tall, wearing a hooded cape that covered their face. The hooded one seemed to be positioning what looked like various cuts of meat on the ground and hanging from the tree. The samurai arched a brow as she watched him work, confused as to what he was doing. Next he uncorked a jar and took what looked like a pair a medical forceps from a pouch o
  10. Rounding a particularly large tree Katoka had expected to see the source of the speaking, however there was nothing more than more empty path before her. The voices continued, though now they seemed to be coming from deeper in the forest, off the path. The blonde chewed her thumbnail as she fought with herself, unsure of if she actually wanted to leave the path to pursue the mysterious voices. After a few seconds she sighed, "Fuck it." she grumbled and quietly stepped into the uncharted woods before her. As she advanced towards the sounds she could begin to make out more and more of what
  11. Her thoughts drifted to her friends, to Elora and Freyd and anyone else that may be pursuing this floors labyrinth and it's boss. She wished she had been able to take a position on the team making the advance, but she knew that there were others that were more qualified for mapping those areas. The samurai thought it was odd that to this date there were no defined quests on this floor. For a place this inhabited by NPCs and interesting places, there had to be something. Her thoughts were interrupted as she heard what seemed to be voices in the distance. Looking about she didn't see a
  12. As the samurai entered she couldn't help the feelings of awe that washed over her. The colors of the leaves were gorgeous. She could see in great detail as she walked how this location was named the Fire Forest. As she walked she could see various animals through out the trees, though she found it odd that every single one she saw seemed to be albino. Looking up to the canopy of foliage above her she could see that very little light managed to make it down onto the forest floor. "Hmm, maybe it's something to do with that." she said to herself as she observed two squirrels as they chased o
  13. After half an hour the driver let Kat know that they were coming up to a fork in the road. "What's in either direction?" she asked him, peaking ahead to see what she could make out in the distance. "I'll be heading off to the left hand side, going towards the MacDonald's place. To the right side the road will lead you to the Fire Forest." he pointed in each direction as he spoke. "Don't let the name fool you, it's not actually on fire." The man reassured her when he saw the look of surprise on her face when he mentioned the name. Once they had reached the fork Katoka had come to the
  14. The smell in the air and the cool temperatures of floor 28 had set a smile on Katoka's face. She had only been to this floor once previously when it had first opened up, there she had been sucked into an escape room that had taken her far too long to get out of. After a few weeks she had decided it was time to return to the land of pumpkin spice and forever fall to do a bit more exploring. After doing a quick sweep of Glyndebourne the samurai hitched a ride on the back of a small cart that was leaving the settlement. The man driving it gave her a warm smile and told her to hold on as he s
  15. "Oddly enough," Wulfrin sighed as he cast his line once more into the river. "The frontlines have been more of an after thought for me lately. I've found myself trying to make the most of this world that was meant to be a prison. It was only a handful of days ago that I started to return to the power leveling scene. I feel more like I'm being drafted at this point, but on the other hand it's a necessary evil. After all, we are all most likely on some kind of biological timer." Wulfrin found himself starting down the darker paths of their situation in the real world. He had thought about t
  16. Blurs of motion and barely decipherable sounds flowed around Nymoria as she watched in awe at the teamwork and cooperation of the other players. Tinges of jealousy, and another feeling she couldn't quite put a name to touched her as she realised that she was well out of her depths. Determined to do as much as she could, she positioned herself in a way that she would remain outside of Freyd and Wulfrin's movements, standing across from Ciela so that the tank could see her whenever she signed quickly. They have this. She gave a quick flow of her hands, the sabre bouncing in her right as sh
  17. She should've known that the question would be turned back upon her, but as the smile from the thought of Adelyte selling her artworks on the street faded, a dark expression flitted across her face. There was no anger behind it, if anything it could be more closely associated with a depressive state. It appeared for only a few seconds, before Nymoria's features turned to a plain, almost empty void of a smile. Her hands moved slowly, and a few errors were obvious in the motions of the signing, a telltale to her nervousness at answering the question. I spent...some time trying to come to terms w
  18. The other two's warning was all she needed to confirm an ever growing concern within herself. She nodded to Morningstar in response to his question, as well as towards Katoka's own commentary. Whatever elation at the ease of the quest that had built within her, had just as quickly dropped away. Something about Freyd's movements screamed of the dangers to be found in wild animals. Dangerous, wild animals. She was glad he was on their side, for the moment, but the concern in Katoka's voice, as well as the very essence that was Freyd in the moment, spoke to greater concerns for her. "For t

  20. Wulfrin fiddled with the chest for a bit before popping the lock using the pommel of his sword. Inside the chest was a meager amount of Col and Mats. The few items that populated the rest of the chest were more his speed. Either the items will have some unique enhancements on them, or they would be additional Col in the pocket of himself or an appraiser. Was it worth the trouble of hunting down the field boss of Floor One? No. Did it put him closer to recuperating the money he dropped on the wedding? Not even close. He would have to go on a much larger grinding spree if he intended to make up
  21. As Wulfrin returned with the chest he had found, she placed a soft and gentle kiss upon his head. "Does that help?" She smiled and gently petted his head. She nodded when Wulfrin asked her to watch his back, "Of course." She scanned the area diligently, making sure no enemies were coming up behind them. She peeked at him every so often, attempting to see if she could peek at what was in the chest. They were in agreeance that after this they were going home and she couldn't wait. She was tired and spent for the day. She was ready to curl up in Wulfrin's arms while reading a book.
  22. "Trust me," Wulfrin groaned still recovering from his collision with the tree. "It felt about as bad as it sounded. It wasn't all bad though, I think I saw something off in the woods. I'll just be a sec." Partly looking for an excuse to leave the conversation, Wulfrin trailed off into the forest in the direction he had tumbled when attempting to hit the Nepent Variant. A couple yards from the clearing was a small nest that looked like it may have belonged to their now felled foe. Upon a closer inspection of the site, Wulfrin saw a decent sized treasure chest ripe for the plundering. Caref
  23. The two of them were having worse luck than ever as the Nepent's health grew lower and lower. It seemed as if they were never gonna actually land an attack on this uncanny valley looking creep. Ciela watched Wulfrin activate his sword art, and covered her mouth as he tripped on a rock. She watched him roll, "Are you okay!?" Then she heard the loud resounding BONK. She stifled her laughter, looking Wulfrin over and making sure he was alright before doubling over laughing. "I don't mean to laugh but that was literally bonk.mp3." She finally calmed herself and remembered the task at hand. Re
  24. Unfortunately Wulfrin was having no better of a chance at hitting the beastie. He thought he had accurately planned his assault, but he didn't account for the terrain. As he rushed the boss hoping to impale it with his Vorpal Strike Sword Art, his foot found a loose rock directly in his path of travel. Wulfrin ended up losing concentration on the Art and rolling his ankle, sending him tumbling past the boss into a nearby tree with a resounding BONK. It took Wulfrin a minute to return to his feet. He rubbed his head where it had collided with the large oak tree. He swore he could hear the laugh
