Challenge for those who dare!!

I had a conversation with people on discord today about what their favorite quest was and why and I got some great answers.

So here is my challenge. Take a more plain, ordinary quest, and spice it up! Show me what you guys want out of a quest by example. Is it choice and consequence? A narrative? A chance to actually fail the quest? This is your chance to show me if my suspicions are true.

 The Child of Rohk (April Fools Event Quest) is now open for everyone to accept. You have until Midnight PST on Monday the 10th to accept the quest, and the quest must be completed by mightnight PST on Monday the 17th. Good luck!

Keep your eyes open everyone. We're going to be re-opening the April Fools limited time boss went cause not enough people caught it. You'll have a few days to register and only one week to defeat the boss! Good luck!

Just saw Ordinal Scale in the theater. It was awesome. If you liked the series, you'll definitely like this. It was great seeing a story in a more long form style and it was nice to give the story a chance to breath. Also, best action scenes in the series.

Labyrinth Scouting Announcement!

It was brought to staff's attention that there was a type which required defeating 30 mobs per player. It has been corrected to a minimum of 20 mobs, or 5 per player, whichever is more.

I highlighted the changes in the guide.

It's one of those Mondaze where I feel like my eyes are rattling around in my head. Hopefully I can dive back in and start doing some more RP again soon. I didn't get any bites though, is no one waiting for me for a reply?

To those taking the First Lesson is Free beginner quest. Based on feedback, I have adjusted the number you need in order to find the material. Feel free to incorporate it into your threads.

Please note, this only works for quest materials. If you find more than you needed this way, you do not get to keep them because this amount is reduced for the quest only. All other non-combat gathering needs to conform to the standard rules. You CANNOT selectively choose whether it's a quest material or not. Unfortunately, this is the balance to making it easier for the quest itself.

I updated the beginners quests last night to try and add some clarifications. Let me know if you still have any questions.

Question for everyone: What would make you want to join a guild? What would make you want to form a guild?

I want to make guilds more important to the site and to characters. They're shown to be very important in the anime and the novel, and in MMO's in general.

I realize housing/guild halls are currently a bit lackluster, and we'll be working on that, but what would you like to see from the Guilds themselves specifically?

Unique Skill Update!

I've been asked about this a lot, and I don't really have information to give you other than this:

Unique skills will be reviewed after the 3.0 update. Once 3.0 is live and settled, staff will begin a complete reworking of Unique Skills. The scout broker, as a means of distribution is more then likely gonna be completely removed. Unique skills themselves will be completely changed and made to balance among themselves.

We're basically going back to the drawing board because how they were distributed, and the abuse of them by people who could was detrimental to the site.

To that end, Takao and myself have agreed that while we are GMs, we will not take a unique skill.

Well, still not quite 100% yet, but much improved from my bout with Salmonella. Beware eggs at restaurants! 

Food poisoning sucks :(

I will be traveling for work again, which means most of my days will be spent on the road or on the jobsite. I should be able to post a little tonight assuming I'm not exhausted from travel, but my parents are flying in for the holidays tomorrow so I will likely not be able to post again until Wednesday.
