I blinked a few times to return the the virtual world and started to quickly read the environment. There had suddenly appeared several bull looking creatures. I also saw a few blue and white crystals slowly fade out into nothingness. ‘’Have they already taken down one of the bosses? That’s quick.’’ I thougth to myself. But on the other hand, lately the events have become easier and easier. As the highest leveled player present I searched for the strongest and thoughest enemy. There was a huge bull. He had only lost a tiny, tiny piece of health. So I decided I would attack him. To late my brain did understand what Hikoru had actually said to me. He asked me to save a low leveled player that was almost dead. It seemed to be close to the faded crystals. It seemed it wasn’t a mob that had died, it was a player. Luckily tohu it was one of those lowlies. One more or less of them didn’t mattered. So I continued thru my charge skill without regret. I felt the powerful fallen enchantment boosting up my damage as the axe cleved thru the bulls flesh. But to my surprise, the boss had lost like five percent of his health or so. ‘’And this is only an event. This result from my strongest attack?’’ I said to myself as the other players in my group acted. ID: 79332 BD: 8 Hit! As @Miss_Mestophales walked away muttering something in an apologetic tone, not that the blonde registered much... a word few and there would slip by while she continued to repeat herself. Deep inside, she would question herself about what actually was going on but the 'joy ride' we was going through denied her from further exploring that thought. Taking deep breaths, she managed to calm herself... No thanks to anyone in that regard as when she finally regained her usual composure, she found herself left behind by the rest of the raid participants. Even the one who though she was now the closest with left her to agonize over the fear without offering some consolation, be it via words or some kind of gesture. Picking herself up, she immediately grit her teeth in anger as part of a phrase played back in her head. Within her jumbled mind, a short sentence would ring clear than anything else: "it was just a joke...". She reached out to one of her pouch and retrieved a vial. She removed the soft wooden cork with her thumb and downed half of its content in one gulp, putting the remaining back in the pouch. It would be too fast for the drink to have its effect so she made her way after the rest of the group, for now the vial had the placebo effect of stopping her turn on her heels and walk away from this event. She went to her signed team, making sure to stay away from the catgirl's line of sight. She would come just in time to see a player explode into pixels. A small cackle would escape her throat, the blonde suppressing it by covering her mouth with her hand while taking it deep breaths. This fight was already getting more interesting than the other more recent ones. A lust for battle slowly being lit inside of her, she watched as the different player reacted to the death of their own.Some would shout, some would show indifference and continue on with their assigned task. Ariel would be one of the latter and tightly grab her weapon, eyeing the biggest of the 3 bulls... her designated target. As Group 2 has drawn hate from all 3 Bosses, all 3 Bosses attack them. Asterios, the golden furred minotaur king, crossed his arms over his chest as he watched, rather imperiously, the combat that was taking place. Nato, the faithful leader of the Royal Guard had acted in the first place, to summon a couple of trainees from the mighty Bull Army. As soldiers went the two trainees left a little to be desired, they were hardly front line troops. Still, they would suffice for the time being. Then Nato attacked and managed to actually remove one of the impudent little attackers. Who were these players, anyway, to think that they could stop the entire Minotaur nation? As Nato finished his attack another group of players, four this time, launched into motion. The sheer audacity of them, many of them launching attacks at the high king himself, was simply beyond describing. In particular, a little blonde woman who would very shortly be learning to respect those who were far greater than she could ever hope to be herself. Shrugging off the rest of the attacks that had been launched, as well as some of the effects of the poison that the shadowed ninja had inflicted with his backstabbing attack, Asterios began the counter-attack. Without a word to the lesser Minotaurs, Asterios merely directed a finger in the direction of Morgenstern. The trainees, well, at least they tried but they would have had better luck had they attempted to move an entire mountain by themselves, for all the damage they did to Morgenstern with attacks that never found their mark. Next, Asterios pointed Nato in the direction of Morgenstern as well. Dutifully, the suited commander of the Royal Guard went into battle and, apparently taking his cue from the trainees, he also missed Morgenstern. Asterios sighed and gave General Baran, the Army's commander a look. The enormous black furred bull man slung a trident down off of his shoulder and charged directly at Hikoru before the little ninja man could disappear back into the shadows. With a wide sweep of the weapon's business end, Baran knocked Hikoru off his feet before impaling the ninja into the ground and paralyzing him so they could keep an eye on him. As he stood over the paralyzed foe, Baran drew a slender whistle on a chain around his neck and blew it once. A thundering sound echoed for a moment and, within a few seconds, the noise resolved itself into the form of one of the Minotaur Army's field commanders, standing ready to do battle. "Now pay attention, lesser beings, as a god among minotaurs walks among you," Asterios rumbled. Reaching down, the golden hands wrapped themselves lovingly around the haft of a warhammer that was, in honesty, larger than many of the players that had assembled to fight them. With an enraged bellow, the King of the Minotaurs charged down on the blonde woman, Ariel. Eschewing the warhammer in his hands, he slammed the horns on his head into Ariel's chest and launched the slender woman an easy fifty feet in the air before she slammed to the ground and rolled over several times, failing to rise to her feet once again. One player had already died, which was upsetting on a level that Shield did not have time to deal with right now. He pushed that to the side and set his statistician's brain on the task of analyzing the battle. There's too much bleed between the groups. I fear we might have more unexpected deaths if we don't get this under control. Let's look at the bosses themselves... His eyes swiveled to the first, weakest of the foes. They're on their own as far as taking the hits, but if I can draw some fire and get a little damage on him and his minions, that might save some lives. Next, he turned his eyes onto Aterios, the most dangerous of the three. I don't want any piece of that action just yet... His dark brown eyes finally fell onto Baran. This was his target from the beginning. This is my guy. I'll take a little leaf out of Jonathan's book and see if I can't split my focus a little... He took in a big gulp of air, focusing his attention on Nato and invoking his cape as he picked his taunt carefully. It was tricky, because he didn't want Asterios on him just yet, but the others... Now that he felt a bit of security and confirmation, he would look up to see that one of the players had been slain... His eyes would raise, and his teeth would clench. "What... WHAT!?" Rage brought to the back of his throat, his eyes dilating a little bit as they then locked onto one of the enemies, so they were the ones that decided that it was all right to take a player right before his own eyes, eh? Well that was perfect with him, since he was going to have a lot of fun ripping through them. After he was done with the one that he had been assigned, he was going to make the others pay all hell for the life they just took away. It was his duty to protect, and he failed. "Love... Hold on for one moment." He would tell @Hidden, his voice low and lusting for a bit of sweet sweet revenge. His right hand firmly grasped onto his spear before then launching himself at Baron. Instantly, he would activate his strongest Sword Art, which didn't seem to do too much damage, but it was best barrage that he was able to emit from his body before he would then be forced to jump back, now bothered by the event monsters. The stupid and foolish players at level one were perishing for their mistake. Or at least, one had. The other was almost dead. @Hidden was the only one among the lowest group who seemed to amount to anything, watching the boss's health drop farther from her strike than either of the two players could have done. He would talk to her after this battle was over and congratulate her on her advancements. Either that or the other players were simply beyond all hope. He watched as @Hikoru struck to gain the attention of all of the monsters. That man was also a fool and an idiot for allowing such weak players to join the fray. He should have denied them access, telling them just how dangerous facing a boss would be. It was extremely dangerous to even fight a leveled mob alone at level one. He was surrounded by fools and idiocy. However. Domarus would change everything. Once he became strong enough and gained enough authority to lead one of these raids, he would show everyone what a true leader looks like. In the meantime, he needed to put his faith and trust into their fragile hands. If the front liners continued to fail however, he would do his best to assist them. For now they seemed to have got it covered. However he would not stand aside and just let others take this boss down. If he could he'd destroy the monster and get his hands on a demonic. That was secondary of course. Experience and reputation were first and foremost. He had to stick with the original plan of attacking the medium strongest boss so that the lowlies wouldn't get hit by it and die. Now it was time for the show. His gauntlet gripped his weapon tightly, 'shaking' slightly. "B*****d. DIE D**N YOU!!!" Domarus charged for the Baran with astonishing speed and his dragon keeping up with him. When he neared the boss he leaped into the air, his face only two feet from the minotaur's, his red visor flashing with a fiery fury. "TAKE THIS YOU B**CH!" He lashed out his sword art Screw Dimension, and while it was far less damage that he wished to deal, it wasn't too bad for his level. That would change soon enough however. As he lashed out upon the monster, his familiar blew a constant stream of flames as well as scraping it's flesh with it's claws. Domarus landed on the ground and leaped back, standing behind the minotaur. In truth the fury and rage he just displayed, while appearing to be completely genuine, being the master of deception he was, it was actually just a drive to strengthen himself and nothing more. The value of life was something that had been pounded into him since his time in Sword Art Online, so his gut was understandably tight as he managed to force his attention back to General Baran, gritting his teeth. I can't go attracting unwanted attention. Sticking to the plan right now will save the most lives. His fists balled up as he turned his anger towards his party's target. He charged quickly, his skill activating and blurring his form as it granted him a boost of strength and speed as he rapidly approached the general. Hydra 0 Posted March 15, 2017 #48 Report Share Posted March 15, 2017 As the generals began to show there faces the battle started as something rather comedic, Hydra couldn't help but laugh at the various mooing that was going about between the generals. After mere moments his laughter quickly faded, the first group to attack was none other than one containing most of his new guild mates. The spearman hadn't even met half of them yet but he watched helplessly as one of the members got crushed in a single blow, shattering into many crystals. Another player known as Raina, one he had given an item to also looked to be in a critical condition as well. "I can't make it in time." Hydra thought to himself as the bull prepared another attack. Seemingly what happened next was the whole vanguard exploded in anger at the death of the player some aiming straight for Nato others attacking Asterios and a few Baran. Hydra noticed one of the frontliners taking a large amount of damage, two of them looking as though they had been paralysed. Taking in a deep breath and dispelling the panic he looked back for his group and target. Hydra trusted Atzo would be able to protect the guild and Raina, for now Hydra would help eliminate Baran. Once his eyes had settled on the general he rushed forward following Sey and two other players in the same group as him. With the combined effects of ferocity and charge Hydra struck the 'Water Serpent's Fang' into Baran as many times as he could muster before retreating and preparing for the counter-attack there group was likely to receive. Aereth was also enraged when he saw the innocent but pretty stupid player die right in front of him, but letting yourself drive crazy by your emotions wouldn't help anyone. First he saw an outrageous Sey charging at Baran swiftly followed by Domarus, who was throwing curses at the event bosses. Aereth sighed. "We need to stay calm and concentrated if we want to take on this boss..." he thought and readied himself for an attack as well. Before he charged though, he simply put a hand on @Sey's shoulder, and told him as well as everybody else in his group (@Domarus, @Beat, @Hydra, @Shield) in a calm tone. "Sey, guys! You need to stay calm and focused. Don't let yourself be controlled by your emotions. I know that somebody died mere moments ago, but we need to singularly concentrate on fighting the bosses, or even more might die today. Emotions are a no go on the battlefield!" After his little speech, Aereth took a deep breath, and also charged at General Baran. "And insulting NPC's is like talking to a wall, they're just code. I'm out of town Fri.-Sat., so I wanted to go ahead and get this done. As another group of players began their attacks on the three leaders of the Minotaur army the brown furred and bare chested General Baran, the commander of the entire army, crossed his arms over his chest and stood in a stoic manner as one after another of the players attacked him. The General had no fear, none whatsoever, to the pathetic little insects. To drive this point home to them when Hydra attacked with his spear and slammed the weapon into the brawny bull-man's broad chest Baran chose to drop his own weapon. Wrapping muscular hands around Hydra's weapon, the minotaur plunged the Water Serpent's Fang deeper into his own chest, reeling in Hydra in the process until the pair of them stood nose to snout. "I do not fear you, Commoner filth," Baran snorted, raising his open hand and cracking Hydra across the face with a powerful backhand. The blow itself dealt no damage to Hydra, it was not intended as an attack but rather as intimidation of both Hydra and the players that called themselves his allies. Meanwhile Colonel Nato, the suited commander of the Royal Guard, was eager to avenge himself for his previous short comings. Whirling his weapon high over his head, the Colonel leaped into the air and landed in the midst of the third group of players. A powerful shockwave shot out in a circle from Nato's point of impact, slamming into all of the players with enough force to make sure they were all well aware of the minotaur's presence in their midst. This was shaping up, for all intents and purposes to be a potentially dangerous fight. Those thoughts were confirmed a moment later when Izzrikl's soul was freed from the digital prison that was Aincrad. As the blue pixels that had, until so recently, been Izzrikl dissipated in the air and fully freed Izzrikl's very soul to return to his maker Tomas bowed his head and murmured a few words in Latin, "Mane astabo tibi, et videbo quoniam non Deus volens iniquitatem tu es*," the monk said in a soft, barely audible whisper as the monk dropped to both knees, however briefly. Where Tomas was concerned it was not his duty to personally free each and every one of the souls trapped in the purgatory of Aincrad, only to see to it that they were, indeed, set free. "Da aeternam dona eis, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei**," Tomas continued in a low tone, his black leather gloved hand reaching to the simple crucifix that hung on a slender golden chain around his neck as he offered a brief prayer for the departed. "In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti, requiesce in pace." The brown haired man released the holy symbol and allowed it to fall to dangle from the chain at his neck before crossing himself quickly with his right hand. Rising to his feet, once more, Tomas drew Viper's Strike, a slender silver bladed rapier with a serpentine motif, from the simple leather scabbard at his side. Raising the weapon vertically before his face and body, Tomas saluted the minotaurs and launched his own assault on Colonel Nato. Based on what he had seen so far, and the fact that Nato's health bar was already more than half gone, even if only just so, that seemed to be the wisest course of action. Weaving his way nimbly in between the players from the third group that had just attacked, the fencing monk launched a flurry of lightning quick strikes that were each parried by Colonel Nato. Aoda 0 Posted March 17, 2017 #52 Report Share Posted March 17, 2017 Being separated from the rest of his guild had been somewhat nerve wracking at the beginning. But as he watched as one of his own guildmates was cut down by the bull-headed colonel, Aoda's emotions became mixed. He'd never witnessed a death of a comrade up close. He was both horrified and thankful. Horrified that someone so inexperienced was defeated without even a chance to realize what was happening, though he was grateful that it wasn't him who was put in their group. It was an odd blend of feelings, though they were swiftly put to rest as he heard the shouts of other players, seemingly gathering to avenge the man's demise and defeat the three beasts. Many attacks were targeted towards the bull labeled <<Col. Nato>>, enough to deal half of his health. They were making sure he wouldn't survive another round to strike down another unprepared low-leveled player. It could even have been Aoda soon enough, if they managed to take aggro on him. Suddenly, the raven-haired individual heard the silent words of another player in his group. Aoda recognized the latin the brunette spoke, although he wasn't able to understand it. The man made his move, attempting a strike on the colonel, however it was evaded with ease. The first attack made by Group 4 ended in failure. It was his turn to make the second a success. Mangekyo, the lad's curved blade, was already drawn and prepared for battle. Aoda lunged forward in the weakest minotaur's direction. He carried enough knowledge to understand that his next slash would not damage the creature enough to make a large difference in the finale of the boss fight, however he was aware that he could do whatever was possible to help punish Nato for what he had done to Izzrikl. Only seconds before the man's blade inserted itself into the leg of the bull, Colonel Nato lifted himself out of the way, causing Aoda to miss his charge. The battle in itself was not very exciting, turn order decided by the system would end up pitting the lower leveled players against Col. Nato a...minotaur person...thing. Mestophales honestly had no idea what she was getting into in all this battle of stuff and the more she looked at it, the more boring it had become until *poof* someone got dead. The woman felt sorry for the player, perhaps even she would be unlucky enough to draw the hate if she were not prepared enough for this battle. In this case, she was not. But the cat-woman was a fearless woman, you didn't become an aerialist without a sfety net for nothing in the circus. With her spear in hand, she drove straight for Col. Nato as the tip of her spear grew hot like coal. Sweeping and hefting the blade, she crossed the bare chest of the Boss and stuck him good with a blow dealing an impeccable five points of damage. He was grouped up with lower level players, people he had an obligation to look after. There was no time for introductions as the event was underway, and each group had began attacking their targets. But right as the fight began, it all went to hell. The first group of other low level players weren't doing too well, with one of them being brought into the red, and another one turning into nothing more than a cloud of pixels. And if Kayaba wasn't lying to everyone on day one, then that player, whoever and wherever he was, is now gone. Soredell grit his teeth in pure, unwavering hatred. Hatred to these bulls for ending this player's life, and hatred to Kayaba for getting everyone into this mess in the first place. Not soon after members of the group he was in began their attacks, some missing, others hitting but not doing quite so much damage, he charged in. "Get the lower levels out of here!" he yelled out to the others, before charging straight at Nato. The bull had no opportunity to dodge the incoming attack, as he made a single, fluid, drawing strike across Nato's body, and he was greeted with a slow downpour of red pixels, indicating the very helpful bleed effect. "You want to dance beef jerky? Well then come fight me!" he yells at Nato before moving back, weapon in a defensive position, preparing for the likely retaliation. He had taken witness to the first group charge headlong into battle, and only for that boss to turn and the perfered weapon into a players body. The immediate pixilation of the body was something he had seen when in combat with mobs. To his knowledge, once you crossed death, there was no way back to life. Dominion barely noticed the words of Domarus, or any other players for that matter. Fear did not strike him, but neither did empathy or regret. That player had joined this game, and he decided to gamble for a life outside this game, and reach the top. Dominion sat down, staring off into the distance, paying no particular mind to the players around him. However, Dominion was basically called back to battle when he noticed Aoda make a move toward the boss. Looking to the people in his party, he could tell he had the highest natural health amongst them, but that likely didn't mean much. Dominion arose from where he sat, spotting Shaggy and the man from the building. Dominion remained speechless as he moved forward. A man, who Dominion could only assume was in his group, yelled out, "Get the lower levels out of here!". Dominion only remained silent, his monkey armor glistening slightly from the light. He did not move, his judgement somewhat clouded by the event that had taken place. Dominion did not even attempt a strike against the enemy, for he was conflicted with that and healing the wounded. Standing in his spot, Solomon seemed like some sort of guard, however, he obviously didn't wear anything but his clothes and fists. Solomon had turned around when the boss struck out against the players, and was only drawn back by shouts and shrieks from the players, both around him and amidst the battle. When Solomon turned his head, he saw what looked to be rain from a cloud, but a none existent one. Dominion fell down, a couple players raged upon their own bosses with the madness of hate, stating words of odd language. Solomon found no hate in this. He still lacked a good understanding of what had provoked such reactions from the people. When the second group was assembling for combat, Solomon moved over to the sitting Dominion, the monkey king armor and the engravings upon it shining with the light of the sun. Dominion was dressed for combat, though his eyes were foggy, as if in major discernment. Solomon decided in that moment he would sit with the man, only to find the man getting back up. After a couple seconds of just standing and watching, Solomon reached his hand over his neck to remind himself of his blue braid. If he found himself in combat, he would need to make sure that he knows the disadvantages to the hair length. His eyes were neither clouded nor friendly, but clear of feelings. "Such simple minded attacks, they won't work against me!" he claimed, not understanding his earlier words but not carrying enough to ask for their meaning. The self proclaimed 'most intelligent' of the trio would then spot with the corner of his eye another player that went for his leg. He lifted himself out of his way and let out a condescending snort accompanied by a smirk as he watched the second player running away from him. Next he would eye a feline-like figure menacingly approaching him with a spear aimed right towards his chest. Deciding to take on the challenge, the 'smart' minotaur trusted his reflexes enough for him to be able to catch and snap into two the woman's weapon. Unfortunately, his reflexes weren't as sharp as he thought and while still catching the spear by its pole, the spearhead managed to pierce his chest... ruining his shirt with a visible red cut. In response to her "Neeyaaa~" he let out a frown followed by a snort, as if steam was exiting his nostrils. Then holding the spear tight so that she wouldn't run he hunched over, invading her private space: "This was my favorite shirt!!!" he bellowed in her face and was reaching with his other hand to repay her in kind. In the next moment, he felt the cold sensation of steel on his back as yet another player landed a attack on him while he was busy with the woman. Gritting his teeth, he tossed the woman to the side via her weapon and turned to face the masked man. "You'll pay for this!" she muttered, his eyes slightly gaining a red tinge as he realized that his favorite suit was being turned into tatters. The Knights were supposed to be the first ones into combat and the last ones to leave the field when that combat was concluded. The vanguard, not the rearguard. The ginger giant would be having a very serious discussion with Hikoru about this in the very near future. They would also talk about the wisdom of sending the low levels out to fight first. Low-level players were neither skirmishers, nor were they cannon fodder. Hikoru would, perhaps, need to be made to understand this fact. Through narrowed storm grey eyes the ginger headed man watched as Izzrikl was permanently erased from the world of Aincrad while a particularly curvy woman also came perilously close to being killed as well. It was time to take action. " @Beatbox and @Macradon," the Vice Commander snapped in a booming tone, his voice cutting through the din of battle. "Target Nato, Baran, and the Minions with AoE," Mack ordered, drawing his Invictus and wading through the chaos in the direction of @Raina. When the Field Commander and Trainee Soldier moved to impede his progress the massive Vice Commander simply bulldozed them, no pun intended. As he shoved through there was no damage dealt to either of the Minions because Mack's focus was drawn to the player menu he had pulled up. Tapping the one useful item he had for this situation, he materialized a simple green bottle filled with potion in his enormous hand, tugging the cork from the bottle with his teeth and spitting it out on the ground as he moved. Reaching Raina's side the towering figure in the snow white cloak wrapped an arm around Raina's waist and bodily hoisted her out of the way and behind him, upending the Safeguard potion over her head in the process. Probably this was going to result in all manner of foul comments, something about ruining a hairstyle or only the gods knew what. Probably some comments about sexism and chauvinism too, which wouldn't have been far off from the truth. Admittedly, he would have also grabbed Izzrikl, but it was a bit late for that now. Irrelevant. "Get behind me if you want to live," the brawny soldier growled, slamming the haft of Invictus into the ground and proudly displaying the Toreador's Cape that was worked with the sigil of the Knights of the Blood Oath. The cape was extremely gaudy and eye catching, sure to draw the attention of bosses in general and Asterios in particular. Beatbox 0 Posted March 20, 2017 #59 Report Share Posted March 20, 2017 Beatbox had looked over to Mack in which had directed them to attack Nato, the General, and his minions with an AoE, and turns out... well, he doesn't have a worth while one being restricted on the sword arts that he uses "Sorry, ain't got any AoE's that would be worth while to use. I've got a better agenda to follow at the moment, entrust in me that I know what I am doing." he had said before unsheathing the Silver Crescent MK. 1 as he entwined it with his Charge along with Bullrush as he charged forward to strike against Nato to strike him down, however just like the bull, it knows how to get out of the way of a bull's strike. Itzal was someone who thought over every detail and possibility. The Celestial Ascendants was put in charge of this so why didn't Hikoru talk to the others before this fight started? Itzal needed to host a meeting with the other paladins, or whoever could make it, soon. Regardless he shed tears for the player lost in the fight. He didn't know her but he knew she had family, she had friends. He made a quick and silent prayer for the safety of everyone else here. Afterwards the CA would have a discussion about teamwork and cooperation. Itzal wondered if trust was an issue but these thoughts weren't needed at the moment. He hardened himself and looked towards the boss. He knew his damage would be nothing. And so he wouldn't use Soul Barrage. That technique was meant for his most devastating moments. This wasn't one of them. However he'd have one hell of a time swinging his blade at monsters to get his frustrations out. He charged forward, silent in every way. He leaped at Asterios and dealt a measly one point of damage. Of course he did. Leaping back he knew he'd most likely be ignored and just struck at. He was a scout. But soon he'd work on his damage.
