  6. Firefly took a moment to absorb Pollux's words. Having a pet was completely new to the blind woman and she was somewhat surprised that she was doing as good as she was up to this point. Myst moved to aid her confidence which brought Firefly some comfort. "Yeah... This is very nice. I've never had pets before because my mother is allergic to most of them." The girl reached down and grabbed her little kitty, coddling her in her arms. The cat purred in response. "A toy?" She looks down at the cat and noticing an item missing from her belt. "Oh, I dropped my Witch Light! That's important. Mys

  9. Baldur drove his katana down into Lesbianus, and their HP dropped down to 1 again. He swiped his sword before sheathing it. After this next one, he should be able to fight something challenging. He had heard the champion of the stadium could be quite dangerous, but Baldur wasn't a thrill seeker. Still, fighting something that at least fought back would be nice. It was so rare these days. Thankfully Baldur had his dojo to keep his competitive edge, and teaching was far more satisfying than fighting. "And he wins again! Can anyone stop this player on a rampage!? Our next fighter will have t
  10. Sand and an arc of black and crimson light tore through the ground at Lesbianus, striking the gladiator with enough power and fury to knock him to the ground. Baldur walked slowly over to the stunned form while his sword arts recharged, his energy ticking up slightly. This was draining his batter and his energy proc wasn't going off as much as he would have liked, but it was what it was. "Sorry about this." He apologized to the stunned NPC. He never enjoyed this part of debilitating attacks on humanoid enemies, but at least it was pixels and strings of code instead of flesh and blood. Tha
  11. With the first fight behind him, Baldur would advance to the next round. Once Asparagus had been delivered to the medial ward, the next gate was opened and another, almost exactly the same fight was released. This one with a different name, and that was the only way Baldur could tell them apart. Could you fight other players here? He had never been interested in doing that, but perhaps it would be more interesting than another identical NPC. Here we go. Another one. Baldur still went through the motions. Ritually ending the previous fight with his usual chiburi and noto. Then he
  12. Laying in bed, staring at the ceiling, she really didn't want to get up yet. Everyday for nearly 3 weeks she has been up at four am. It was like her brain was hard wired to get up at that time. Blinking one, then twice with light flutters and she was out again. She wakes up to her HUD chiming and Rasarai hopping onto the bed. Running across she starts licking Eruda's face, "Okay okay I'm up," saying as she was trying to shield her face from the licking machine. She sits up, pulls her legs underneath her and holds to blanket up. The wolf was barking playfully now, as she leaps over her familiar
  13. The sword art Baldur released probably would have missed in the hands of anyone else. The Gladiator attempted to dodge immediately, but was not prepared for the speed that Baldur released his sword art and the blow struck him a glancing blow, but since he was caught on a bad foot, it sent him spinning, and unable to counter attack against Baldur. The gaijin samurai gave a slight smirk, seeing everything come together as he had foreseen. It usually did in these fights which was another reason why he tended to avoid things like this. It was too much like shooting fish in a barrel. Once he h
  14. His first opponent was another NPC, so Baldur didn't feel the need to go through any motions. An NPC judge stood up and called out the crowd, going through the forms and functions that Baldur couldn't be bothered to pay attention to. It was set dressing for a fight with an NPC, and it stood between him and his goal. Getting this sword art before they would summon him for the boss fight. "Alright, let's do this." It was more to himself than anyone else. He drew his sword and held it ready. He knew how to edge his bets with swords arts by now. He could stand almost in the position he n
  15. It was time. This quest had been sitting on Baldur's floor for a while, and he had actively avoided it because he was not one for grandstanding. But the boss fight was coming up, and it was a good sword at that he could have need to use. So he stepped out onto the sand of the arena floor and looked around at the crowd. Most were NPCs. Well, he assumed most were NPCs. He didn't tell anyone he was coming here, and he doubted people sat here often waiting to see who would show up for this old quest. He would need to start by earning rep with the coliseum faction. It did bring memories of the
  16. Mari pursed her lips. "I can't hold judgement. Till I have all the information. Even so...this isn't my place." And it was true. She wouldn't condemn him for looking after his own men, and if one of his own men had caused this much chaos...there would have been an underlining reason why. She felt a little better now, knowing that she wasn't being lead into a trap. If the players were his men. Mari wouldn't interfere. It'd be like him interfering in her own business. She'd be right pissed off at it. Mari let him step forward - taking on the first wave of farmer NPCs, several old men, all
  17. "I'm sorry Ko you can't come with this time, I promise next time." The tiny three tailed saber cat was sitting by the front door. Setting the kettle with half filled water for Gaius for the morning tea. Eggs were already cooking with raspberry pancakes already stacked. What he didn't know is the eggs were from the ostrich the other day. There was a few uses left as she would have extra to put in a container for Eruda. This was a day that eventually was going to come. Years have gone and been sense lost in time. From her understanding it had been at least four and a half years, which meant that

  21. Staring up the competition as the battle would ensue, he'd find himself annoyed by having to take direct involvement because of their stupidity. What a glorious waste of his time. "Lancaster?" He'd turn a bit to stare at the woman, her weapon perched precariously. Ah, she was concerned. That was the front liner in her front and center. The fact didn't surprise him in the slightest. "Those players are my men, Amore. Stricken with troubles just like..." A finger trails between them as he would gesture to them both. "However one of them is deficiente, and has put the lot in danger." He
  22. "Yeah." Mari said quietly. Tersely. Her guard up. She knew him, very well. It seemed Lancaster did too, at least to some extent. He reached out and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder and Mari's taught muscles relaxed. He wasn't Oikawas enemy. Although Mari had an inclination that he misinterpreted their relationship, feeling a warm hand on her bare shoulder, rings hard against her flesh. "We weren't like that." Mari clarified. Oikawa did confess to her, but she hadn't reciprocated his feelings. He was a very close and dear friend. "He was - is - a good friend. I miss him." A pause. "If y
  23. He'd turn and take another puff and look her square "This much is true." Yet what he would not allude to is the purple ring on his left pinky finger with a smile. Grunting as he'd stand using the tree as a prop, not being nearly as graceful as most where. It was a bit slow and sluggish. The man shoves his hands in his jacket pockets, and in the light the gloss on it made it look almost metallic. "I abide by no prisons, doesn't matter which man made them." The man spoke with a cool tone, something absent of feeling and nearly empty. He'd stretch and something in his right side pops, having sat
  24. "Sour, and yet you took to no hesitation offering me honey? Color me a fool." S Mari snorted, somehow - she was really enjoying Lancasters company. Despite being a total stranger, he was easy on the eyes. He talked to her as an equal. He didn't try to judge her, nor her marker. Not that he could without being hypocritical. He didn't try to analyze her actions and she didn't feel like saying the wrong thing would have her stabbed or scolded. "Ahh...but..." She offered him a grin. "I could have poisoned it, and you took it, like a fool." She said it in a joking manner. Mari wasn't exactl
  25. The woman would walk through a dimly lit chamber that starts to spring to life as she passes in, lanterns on the wall starting to glow in an eerie white light. A layer of dust upon every surface, as wooden cabinets sat idle and forgotten as time had long passed it by. To a simple square table, of shaved teak, she'd run her hand across it and see the streak of where it passed. The thick soot being dispersed in a smear. Dropping a bag upon its surface as a banging box wobbles itself up behind her, pouring out the contents of the bag as the thing would start to vomit all manner of tools and other
  26. A smile crept across the mans face, one that he only wore rarely. "Sour, and yet you took to no hesitation offering me honey? Color me a fool." Spoken as she'd look up to the sky, finding that perhaps that italian charm of his had eroded her resolve and filled her with embarrassment. Even when it wasn't intended to do so, or even intentional. She took the bottle and tore a massive swath out of it, likely trying to pick up the pieces of her fleeting resolve. "Indeed, yet I felt myself trapped." He'd tap his eyebrow twice with his finger as she'd start to stare at him with a renewed intensity. "
  27. The man held her gaze, burning, intense. Curious. Mari wanted to look away but struggled to do so, as though he had captured her with merely a glance, and a flutter of lashes over angled eyes. He complimented her, and Mari was finally able to break the gaze. Her own shifting up to the sky. Normally...Mari would attempt to brush off compliments, ignore them, decry them. But somehow, she was tired of that. Oscar was making it a habit to make sure she didn't do that - in all manner of ways. Mari relaxed, letting one leg splay out toward him, the other curled up beneath her. Mari thrummed her fi
