[ EV | F29 ] A Fatal Error Has Occurred. {Spectral Knight Combat}
Wulfrin replied to Wulfrin's topic in Intermediate Floors
"There's one more thing you all should know," Wulfrin paused as the group prepared to leave. "These hostile mobs we've been fighting. They're the NPCs of this floor. Morningstar and I found the info out at the lighthouse overlooking the Black. They've been corrupted and twisted from their original forms. By what we haven't figured out. For now all we can do is fight back and hope there is a way to reverse it. Stay sharp and focused, we've got a floor to clear." Wulfrin's body began to glow with the familiar light of Press the Attack, provided by Hirru, as they approached their target. Mor -

[EV-PP-29] A New Kind of Wrong <<Fatal Error: Act 1>>
Acanthus replied to Freyd's topic in Intermediate Floors
The Spectral Knight relented under the Player’s onslaught, toppling to the ground. Lessa’s encouragement spurred their progress; Acanthus watched with a distant satisfaction as the others worked together to bring down their strange opponent. As Morningstar moved away from their quarry, Acanthus took the opening. She rushed in, taking the quickest path to the fallen Knight, and flew past Morningstar, stirring up dust in their wake. Alcohol doesn’t smell in-game, does it? The thought nagged at her, causing her to miss an otherwise perfect opening. Botan still connected for almost half -

Morningstar replied to Freyd's topic in Intermediate Floors
Morningstar weaved past Baldur, sneaking in a few swift punches. The Spectral Knight reeled, unable to balance itself due to the reapplied stun. It toppled over, the heft of its armor crashing to the ground. It lay there, as still as a statue, unable to react to their onslaught of attacks. All the while, he kept an eye on his party members. They were strong, and he knew that, but Acanthus was off. She always was, a little--ever since their spat at the bandit camp. She wouldn't meet his eyes, positioning herself as far away from him as possible. When she did speak (and she never directly s -

Morningstar replied to Morningstar's topic in Intermediate Floors
"If it's any consolation, the NPC's should respawn if we are able to reverse it." Morningstar considered the sentiment. It wasn't impossible. One of the benefits of NPCs was the ability to respawn--something that players could only dream of. Respawning was required of quest NPCs in particular, since they needed to be reused on a frequent basis. The lighthouse keeper, a key player in the quest, likely fell under the category of a Quest NPC. Even if the others didn't respawn, he thought it probable that the lighthouse keeper would. "Worth a shot." Outside, the storm raged on. Thei -
"I just realized you never gave me your name." The blonde would hint as she took a seat on the bed with her meal. "Oh, right! I'm sorry. You can call me Natsumi." The other would oblige, though Alexis was unsure if that was her real name or her username. She wasn't really going press her on that either. "Natsumi, got it. Nice to meet you! Like I said, you can call me Polos for short." The archer would reiterate. The food was nothing to write home about but she was just surprised that she could taste it to begin with. "Polos." She smiled. "I wonder what my family is thinking righ

Hirru replied to Wulfrin's topic in Intermediate Floors
More players had come to join them in this matter. More than he thought would come too. Wait, did he see Freyd and the others run off in another direction? Were there more of these things than he could scan? In fact, search wasn't giving him much of anything. He was roughly getting pings for everyone here, the merchant, and Liz. He figured that he should probably get those two out of there before anything unexpected happened. "Go ahead without me. I'll buff you for now, so let loose until I get back!" He would call out before raising his shield to the sky as his supporting ski -

[F22-PP-ST-PT] A huntress pulls upon the string (What we Fight For)
Sam replied to Nisahime's topic in Intermediate Floors
A short jaunt around the corner of Firm Anima, Sam unlocks the door with a squeak at it opened. Closing it behind her, locking it. Heading straight for the bed room. Scooting her bed and getting to her knees. A floor board was lifted as a small chest came to light. Picking it up, with a creak the tiny booklets presented themselves. Leaning against her bed as the pages were carefully picked through. Taking out the book from her coat, writing a few things down as to more possible hideout's that the Pker's might of made a nest in. After flipping through every notebook, Sam got up and started - Yesterday

Sam replied to Nisahime's topic in Intermediate Floors
Crashing through the doors, intentional maybe but she was pissed. Walking to the table, there didn't seem like the was anyone here, at least not in the main room. Griswold was likely in the forging area and little Ruru was probably sitting in Raidou's apothecary hard at work. The chair scrapes against the floor, taking a seat as she scrambles through the papers. Sam would looking for any place that was cave like or had a cave within it direct vicinity. "HEY don't ruin my Indiana Jones moment,' turning swiftly to Nisahime with a glare that shifts suddenly into a smirking smile. "Of course you do, its called long beautiful white hair, and the clothing you wear is nothing compared to what others might think to go out on a Sunday morning. Or the no shoes thing most the time, most people where something on their feet. It might not be the same attention you want but it's what you got." Eyes meet Freyd's now, "It was a name given to by the one and only," pushing her arms toward Nisa in a cone with her fingers wide open, only her right thumb was ben

Sam replied to Nisahime's topic in Intermediate Floors
Rushing through the forest now, with a simple direction in mind, kill Rosaria. The hope was that Freyd, Setsuna and Kasumi didn't already do the honor's. It was not their kill to take. Being out of the tree line now, making quick work to the nearest down for the teleportation pad. There was something that needed to be done first. Stepping on heading to floor one, the monument wasn't to far from the town of beginnings. Finding the large gravestone of names, kneeling down looking for those names to completely confirm that they were dead. After a little bit, there they were. All lined up lik -

[EV-PP-29] A New Kind of Wrong <<Fatal Error: Act 1>>
Baldur replied to Freyd's topic in Intermediate Floors
As Baldur stepped back, giving everyone else the space to attack the knight, he felt the reverberation of the harmonics between his strike on the crystal monster. It hadn't hit with the same effect he meant it to, but his strategy was still in place. He slid <<Ethereal Tether - Zanshin>> back into its saya at his hip, and then place his hand on <<Muramasa>>. The cursed blade hummed with a different kind of energy, begging to be freed from its slumber, but Baldur pushed that hunger back with the same iron clad control that he always did. It was the reason he had been tru -

Turning hearing the door open watching the ghostly form come out, confused for a moment but then they started talking and it all made sense now. Nodding in agreement to what was said, as she walks through the memory appears. At first she was conflicted as to what this was because everything was so blurry. Sam walks closer to get a better look. Seeing them dig through the junk and Lium appearing into actual form and grabbing the bow. If that was Lium then those other people must be Tak, Simon, and Luke. *ring ring* *ring ring* *ring ring* Sam put her left hand -

A trade menu materialized before Morningstar offering a single debuff song. He spammed buttons as quickly as he could while the boss' aggro was elsewhere. When the item was secured in his inventory, he advanced. Morningstar's sword ignited, glowing boldly in the dark of the sewers. He charged in after Wulfrin's attack, singling out the healthiest duplication of the Slime King and driving his weapon through its gelatinous body. Flames sprouted from the wound, slowly climbing until the creature was engulfed. He retreated to safety and played the song. The melody was somber, but b

Glancing over her right shoulder, locking eyes with Freyd "RIGHT!? Just a little after care goes a looong way." Nisa laughs with a raise of her right arm to cover her mouth. Looking to Sam as she'd slide around like some weirdo trying to use a lighter to light up a giant room. "Sam, A for effort honey but I legit have light right here. Did you bump your head?" A snicker and a pat on the back twice for good measure, she'd start to scan the area with her little glowing light source that did a fair job of lighting up a 25ft bubble around her in a cool bluish light. "I don't even know. You would b

A heavy metallic clunk, like a latch being undone. The thin and almost ghostly appendage seeming to pry the door open from the right most seam, transparent and not unlike the mists around them taking a feminine shape. The mirage in the mirror would look down to it, and back at Sam. "At least you finally get it. Only took you damn near 20 years. Remember what you were given, and don't let this place change you or break you down. Eventually you gotta stand on your own two feet, and cut your own path. Instead of holding your breath and hoping someone else does all the work for you. Don't you fuck

[SP-ST-06] The Past That Haunts us <<The Gemini>>
Astra replied to Wulfrin's topic in Beginner Floors
The novice swordsman watched as more hooded figures appeared, seemingly blocking all exits. Amidst the cloaked figures Astra could see the visage of his mentor, Wulfrin. Was it really him? There were no player indicators...What exactly was going on here? The uncertainty of the whole situation made Astra's chest tighten. Suddenly, with no time for him to defend himself, Astra felt a searing pain across his back, sending him forward a few steps. He grit his teeth throughout the pain, and spun around on his heels to meet his attacker. The figure who had attacked him with a blade was no long -

Standard Recovery +4 EN, 244103 | Recovery CD: 12 (+8 EN), Press the Attack Refreshed, Hyperactive CD {2/3} A slide of the newly formed sludge across her face, she'd grimace as she'd clear it off with her hand. "Gee good shooting tex, at least take me to dinner first." A wise cracked response toward @Wulfrin as the girl would start to hum. The vocal queues shift to a song but are cut short by a command from Raidou, the nod being the only real followable direction. "Heh, like the pointy stick?" Into her armor she rips out this transparent incandescent prism and tosses it haphazardly to the -

Wulfrin replied to Freyd's topic in Intermediate Floors
Wulfrin was doing his best. At this point he was starting to feel way out of his depth. Here he was in the depths of a sewer system, slashing into slimes that made his blade was practically ineffective here. Despite it all, Wulfrin continued to press his attack. The first slime molded itself around his wide arcing slashes. Wulfrin managed to find purchase within the second of the Slime Kings, causing it to reel back from the impact. Wulfrin's blade continued to arc with the newly formed Slime King simply shifted around his blade. Wulfrin gritted his teeth. This was getting annoying now. Not be -

"I am... was my own person..." voice faded into almost nothing as she falls to her knees. "We all need this potion. It will allow up to inflict freeze on the boss, which he is weak to." Simon, Tack and Luke all nod their heads in agreement. Glancing to Lium, "Whatever you think will give us the advantage." "I wasn't always this way," staring at her hands as a tear drips down her face. "You two flank left, Lium and Luke flank right. I will move head on and act as a distraction, he can't hit us all." "I was a leader, their Lea -
The Winged Priestess made her presence known. As Freyd crashed into the ground following a filed attempt to bring her down, Wulfrin leapt up to counter with her guard down. Icingdeath's frigid aura clung to Athia's form as Wulfrin effortlessly carved through the boss's HP. Strike after strike caused ice to accumulate turning the Valkyrie priestess into a frozen statue not unlike her sisters. Wulfrin followed the boss down to the ground, sliding out of the way of whatever onslaught his party would bring upon her. "Anyone order frozen Valkyrie?" Wulfrin chuckled as he prepared for a follow

"Yeah," Wulfrin replied with a chuckle as Freyd shoved Mina into the lake. "I'm going after that Tech art he drops in round two, but I've gotta clear part one first." Wulfrin had developed the goal of collecting each of the Tech sword arts following his taking of the Tech shift. The more he had, the more options he had in combat. Cerberus's art was a Sword Skill that could burn targets, saving Wulfrin from hunting down a weapon with said enhancement on it. Wulfrin made his way over to the now soaked Mina and helped her back onto the dock. "If it wouldn't be too much trouble," Wulfrin

The mirage would lean back, folding its arms across its chest. "So let me get this straight. Your defining traits are 'I have parents' and 'my mom makes chicken and paints her nails'. I wear clothes and drink coffee." Its deadpan expression would convey a tone of irritation mixed with exhaustion. "Music, is a hobby but isn't what defines us. Why are you in the middle of a forest trying to become a musician Sam? Does that make sense to you?" The reflection tilts its head, honestly curious what rationality the girl would give or what mental gymnastics she'd try to perform to make that make sense
