[PT | PP-22] Till Log Out Do Us Part <<Saying Vows>>
KnightessCiela replied to KnightessCiela's topic in Intermediate Floors
Ciela carefully set down the two-tiered cake she had made, the icing delicate and smooth, adorned with tiny sugared violets and soft swirls of cream. It was modest in size but crafted with such care it looked almost too perfect to eat. Just like everything else today, it was hers, theirs, a symbol of a quiet promise made before the chaos to come. She glanced over at Tam, who stood nearby in his well-worn fishing vest that somehow still looked formal on him. His gravelly voice carried the familiar cadence of calm as he casually rattled off his recent catches. “You know, the usual. A few Mo -
"It's called The Watcher," Wulfrin said as he guided the duo towards an obvious arena amidst the icy caves of floor 21. "I've never faced this thing before so we're going in blind. From my understanding though, it should be pretty straight forward. It doesn't have any protection against my crowd control stuff, which I find odd considering this is where FTK spawns." As if on cue the air grew cold as if some sort of spirit had made its presence known. Emerging from the shadows was a massive undead shaman looking boss with long claws and a menacing glare. Wulfrin was in the lead and instinct

Shards fell to the ground around her as the bolt finished the giant bat. Aoi had remained still, unable to move as she’d waited to see the outcome of her gamble. Whether through pure luck, or developed skill with her chosen weapon, she’d managed to strike a decent hit against the thing directly in the centre of its chest. Maybe a bit of luck, and a bit of skill. Aoi had finally let her arms fall to her side as she confirmed there were no other threats, the crossbow reloaded and ready for the next fight – but her entire form needing a break from the exertion that it had just gone through

"I was worried about the last raid, and I'm worried about this one." Ciela grasped Wulfrin's hand. "We'll get through it. I'm very willing to help as a support for the frontline, but I don't see me being able to actually take any of these big ass bosses on. I'm not strong enough yet." Ciela was very much fearful that tagging along with Wulfrin would get her killed, but she didn't really care at this point. She absolutely wanted to support him as much as she could during this raid. She wasn't about to just sit on her ass like she did during the last raid. Ciela brushed her hair out of her face,

She’d lowered her guard slightly upon seeing the thing, a pitiful state that brought a moment of doubt into her mind. Though she knew, logically, that it was nothing more than a stream of data designed in that moment to pull upon her emotional reaction, Aoi found herself hesitating. Unable to fire the bolt that would end the thing’s existence and bring herself to safety within the cave. No part of her wanted to harm something that appeared so desperate to survive, the rush of adrenaline that had driven her to fight and survive flowing from her body in almost an instant. The bat seemed to

HIs list continued to bring him to bosses he had yet to face before. This time he found himself on the familiar grounds of Floor 21, home of the fabled Forgotten Time King, a foe he had faced many times before. Unlike his other visits, Wulfrin was laser focused on his goal of raid preparations. The clock was ticking on his preparation phase so his tunnel vision was on full display. "Thanks for helping me out," Wulfrin sighed as he and Ciela stepped off the teleporter on Floor 21. "I mean it. This raid has been all I've been able to think about. We'll likely need your help. If not in a rai

The bolt soared through the air briefly, clunking into something soft and causing a piercing screech in response as the creature fell to the ground just short of Aoi’s own position. She stared for a brief second at the form of what appeared to be some mystically large, oversized bat, before stepping back and finishing the reloading of the crossbow on her wrist. Whatever the thing was meant to be, she knew that she needed to defeat it in order to be able to continue onwards and find the missing girl that was awaiting her rescue. Right, another quick shot and I should be able to continue wi

The flittering movement was visible just out of the edges of her vision, the creature swooping low towards Aoi as she entered the cavern more fully. The thing – winged, large framed and clearly not welcoming to her presence within its home – swooped down from the roof above her and forced its claws forward in an attempt to catch her and drag her backwards. The ambush would have won if Aoi had been unable to see within the darker environment, the creature’s movements a mere brush of sound against the otherwise quiet background and almost indecipherable if she didn’t know it was there. That

Sable replied to Acanthus's topic in Beginner Floors
He almost snorted at her quick response. He didn't want to mention anyone dying, it had felt almost taboo to talk about, at least around the first floor. As they two of them stopped at a nearby tree Sable nodded along as the woman spoke. This had been the first time he had really gotten a good look at her. She was strikingly beautiful. He smiled at her jab to the other frontliners, "I've heard that from other as well. I suppose showing up to fight the boss is the bare minimum for a few of them huh?" Her question about an info broker was a good one, he held his chin and thought for a bit. -

Freyd replied to Freyd's topic in Intermediate Floors
A single look at the doubt in his beloved's face was enough to light the wick of fury within. Elora was afraid. And, while the frontliners who'd answered his call would surely triumph, players across the floor were floundering. Rolling onto his side, Freyd caught sight of Katoka comforting his partner, ever the stalwart in a storm. They all needed an extra boost of her cerulean spirit, something to bolster flagging morale across their struggling ranks. "Time for the gloves to come off..." While the others sprung back and forth, harrying the enemy with hit and run attacks from every - Yesterday

Katoka replied to Elora's topic in Intermediate Floors
A warmth filled her heart as Borris and the strange tentacle creature joined her in pushing. Hanami felt the stone structure begin to move as the familiars all pressed themself against it. The dragon grunted as she pushed with all her might, the sound of stone beginning to grind against stone, bits of mortar breaking away and falling like sand to the ground below. Opening an eye she could see the knight pace its way back and forth, approaching their position just as the chimney finally gave way. A horrid crumbling and crunching sound could be heard as the structure tipped slowly over and direc -

Yuki stood her from her seat on the ground and observed the group before her. Acanthus had shown up, though it had been some time since the two last saw each other. The last time the two had seen each other was probably during the last boss fight? Yuki couldn't always remember, she was always doing something. "Good to see you again, glad you haven't forgotten that name." She inspected the other two: A girl, a member of the guild she had just joined. Unfortunately, she did not know her very well yet. The other she didn't know at all but they introduced themself as 3ulogy. "Sure, my name is

The tempo shifted. With the Knight reeling, and Yuki drawing its attention elsewhere, Ariel moved without hesitation. Her eyes tracked the enemy’s staggered footing—the instability in its mirrored frame, the widening cracks from the earlier strikes. She could feel Nihilim’s Wrath pulse with quiet excitement in her grip. The blade was humming now—not just from magic, but from familiarity. This thing was too close to the kind of enemy it was meant to cut down. Across the haze, Wulfrin’s voice rang out: “DoTs seem to stick to it!” Ariel’s eyes flicked his way—just briefly. A smir

“Oh, Jesus f—are you kidding me?” Her last message had just said “meet me on floor five. I need to talk about something urgent.” But meeting with two strangers, next the NPC that started <<Bloodstained Land>> was all he needed to hear. “Acanthus, talk to me about this shit. I’ve already done Bloodstained Land. You really pulled me from appraisals for this?" Acanthus seemed surprised, but her voice remained flat. “Good on you for the initiative. Now we can fish for the extra skill.” “I have that already, as well.” “Really.” The conversation briefly died with

Acanthus replied to Zajcica's topic in Beginner Floors
“Yuki. It’s good to see you again. I hope everything has been good since we met.” Things surely couldn’t be worse. The floor boss had been an unpleasant fight, and Acanthus figured that wading through that bog in armor that would stop an actual bullet might be cumbersome. “I hope you don’t mind, but I’m bringing a friend… Or maybe coworker is a better term. His name is 3ulogy, and I’m coaxing him out of his remote shop to get him more involved with the other players. Maybe an easy quest will do the trick.” How long had it been since Acanthus had been down here as a fresh-faced r -
On the Eleventh Floor of Aincrad, Firefly was spending time with her new pet Myst in the guild's hall. She had no idea that after she had acquired the familiar that she would have to train it help her in the field. The skill she was trying to unlock with Myst's help would allow her to search for more interesting locations. Although she shared the overall goal of escaping the game, Samantha's main objective was to enjoy her time with her working eyes as she could possibly get and see everything that she could see before it was back to the darkness. Hopefully, after she was out of the game, she

She had miscalculated. The boy had turned around and then caught up with her before she had a chance to realize she had miscalculated. He was fast. Very fast—was it an in-game skill? "I um. It's good to see you back. Running that is. You were gone for a while and it's nice to know that nothing... Happened." The boy hesitated as he spoke, seeming to search for the right words. Even Acanthus could infer the word he was avoiding. The kindness of the gesture touched her. She slowed down more so she could keep the conversation going. “I wasn’t dead. Just lazy. And a little tired. It’ -

Mari expected more questions, why she chose to admit herself - what Raidou had to do with it all. What the prison was like. But none came. Instead, the two sat by the lakeside - close enough that their arms almost touched. “I think….” Mari said quietly - her eyes watching as a bird dipped down into the water to catch a fish then fly back up to its nest. “What’s worse than the guilt - is…hmm…how do I word this…” She tilted her head - it was something she had talked to Beat about before, how he had never felt bad for his actions - because those people deserved it. Mari saw many similarities bet

How many monsters had slammed themselves into Oscar only to find him unmovable? How many Player Killers had lacked the levels to even deal more than a point or two of damage? Far too many. And yet, here was one Player Killer that had moved him not once, but twice. She wound his lapel into her fist and dragged him away from the Monument. Oscar did have plans for the day. But those had evaporated. He let Mari pull him away. When given the option, catching up with a friend was always preferable than depression. As she led him to the lakeside, Oscar sat down beside her. He waited. And he

Acanthus replied to Freyd's topic in Intermediate Floors
She had partially hoped that they had lost Morningstar. The red lightning bolt that struck the Knight told her otherwise. As reluctant as she was to face him, her pride could manage the wounds so long as they weren’t fatal. Sulking is unbecoming, she reminded herself. Acanthus recognized two others as they stepped in to hold the line: Katoka, whom she’d briefly met in the raid from last floor, and Lessa, another frontliner she’d met after the raid. A third Player—an elf?—joined them from the shadows, spear flashing against the light of the mirrored Knights. She and Freyd spoke words Acant -
