  2. Ciela waved slightly at Etherial after being introduced to their new party member by Wulfrin, "You'll be fine, between me tanking hits and Wulfrin doing damage, you just have to sit there and look pretty." She smiled at Etherial. "We would much rather keep you safe." She looked over to Wulfrin and her palm collided with her hand, "You didn't research the quest before coming down here?" She shook her head and made a tsk noise. "Mr. I'm always prepared." She mocked him and chuckled. Unfortunately she didn't think to put any research into it either since Wulfrin usually knows what he's doing
  3. Ciela had spent the morning preparing a meal for the two of them, they had been going on frequent picnic dates so she packed it to go. She had just sat down and buried her nose back in her book when Wulfrin came home. Lucky thing too. Wulfrin had that glint in his eye. She knew that glint all too well. He'd found another quest for them to go on. Or better yet, he'd found more info on the Tech skills he's been wanting to collect. He treats those skills like pokemon cause boy does he "gotta catch em all." She didn't mind though. It meant more experience for her and experience was needed. Es
  4. It wasn't to long before Kyoto was able to gather his order. Matter of fact this is surprising quick compare to Mac where his order list is so long it take him a while to get back to you... There again Mac is a very well known blacksmith in Aincrad. But this time Kyoto wanted to try something different and thanks to Freyd he took his sights on Rencesvals. "Hey thanks again these look great." It was a pleasure to try someone well talented to make him gear and it was for sure that he'd recommend people to this place. "I'll defiantly put a word out there for you." Kyoto gath
  5. It was not very often that Katoka slipped into the "shop" that Freyd ran. No matter how many times she saw it she wasn't used to the tents and tables that were cobbled together. Glancing around she didn't notice her friend around and nodded, sure that he was more than likely at home with Elora. "Good." she thought. With a soft sigh she stepped up to a semi empty area and open her inventory, scrolling through and selecting as many items as she could before spawning them all at once with a clang. She promptly summoned a sheet of paper and writing utensil and began to leave a note. "Fre
  6. Ciela laughed at Katoka blinking at Wulfrin's ostentatious entrance, "Yes, that is a regular occurrence. If we get separated he uses his little fire chicken, Solaris to find me." Ciela smiled at Mina. "I like to be prepared too. Here. It doesn't provide any mechanical benefits. But they are quite tasty." Ciela materializes a little tin for each of them. Inside was her specialty. Fresh and warm croissants with different flavors and fillings. She wasn't sure what they liked so she wanted to make sure all bases were covered. Wulfrin's croissants were sandwiches with ham and cheddar on them
  7. The white-haired smith smiled as he passed the polished and packaged pieces over to their new owner, neatly tucked and wrapped in protective burlap as added proof of the craftsman's pride at having satisfied yet another order. "Ah, yes. Freyd," he replied, smiling with weary eyes weathered with fatigue. The shop kept him busy. "He sends a surprising amount of work my way, and I'm grateful for it. That's exactly why The Knight Shift was founded in the first place. Please pass on my thanks and be sure to send others my way, if you find anyone in need. We live to serve." The last words

  9. <<The Traveler>> Wulfrin had a goal in mind, unlocking the Tech sword arts in preparation for joining the frontlines. The next one he needed to check off his list was the one dropped by Cerberus. From talking with other players about the aquisition of the sword art, he had come to the conclusion that the Survival skill would be a decent pick up before facing off with round one of Cerberus. That meant returning to Floor Five, a floor that took most of its inspiration from Arabian culture. That meant sand, bandits, and blistering heat. The other factor making Wulfrin hesitant to
  10. "Eww. Seriously. Who comes up with this stuff?!" Grimacing even as he advanced, Freyd proceeded to devastate the serpent's menacing form, rendering unto it the blessing of doomly Swiss cheese. In other words, by the time he was finished with his kata, it had a bunch of fist-size holes all over it exposing the damaged orange avatar mesh beneath. Dashing with supernatural speed, the serpent sought to recover, but found only shadow and the ear-splitting keening of a Whisper's riposte as he'd already moved to its flank. "Keep that shield up! This one's got a bad case of grabby hands."
  11. Last week
  12. She didn't remain on the ground long. Katoka knew that if she waited too long there would have been more things that emerged from the darkness. She knew that she wasn't ready to face them on her own just yet. With trembling knees she rose and stumbled her way back to the path she had previously been on. Her eyes were red, puffy and hollow, her nose running and her arm left a trail of blood behind her. She was broken, but she was not dead. Her hand gripped the hilt of her weapon fiercely, her teeth clenched and she shut her eyes tight. A growl rumbled from her own throat not unlick the wol
  13. The wolf wasted no time. It loped forward, its jaws wide and snarling, only to be met with the glowing edge of her blade. The sword connecting with its open mouth once again and coming to a stop. Katoka yelled, her voice loud and filled with hate and pain and fear, her weak left arm struggling to hold the large creature in the air. Sparks flew from the blade and with one final shove the edge cut through the crustal reinforced jaw of the mob and cut clean through once again from head to tail. Kat continued to scream, her frustration having reached its peak long ago. She slashed and cut and
  14. With pixelated blood dripping from her right arm, the samurai stood with her sword in her non-dominant hand, it's tip wavering ever so slightly as she attempted to keep her composure. If it wasn't for her battle healing skill she was certain she would have been in real trouble. Though she did manage to keep a few better quality healing potions on her after her near death experience on the sky docks for floor 26, she wasn't sure if she would have been in the right from of mind to remember to knock them back. The final wolf in front of her began to circle around her cautiously, never taking

  16. A sharp and excruciating pain jolted Kat from her stupor. She cried out and looked around wildly, her mind barely able to process anything that was going on. She had just finished destroying the last wolf's growths and now she was on the ground, her arm inside the jaws of another-- no, the third wolf, the one she had cut from jaw to ass previously. She must have blacked out from the pain, only just now coming to as she was being shaken around like a ragdoll. "Let me go you son of a bitch!" she shouted, her voice shrill and counted in panic. She managed to bawl up her fist and strike it o
  17. Katoka didn't have to go far to find the next blight wolf, it's snarling and corrupted form emerging from the darkness of the woods emanating a feral aura as it stepped into view. The samurai swallowed her fear, pushing it down for her to process later. Now was not the time to loose focus. The wound on her forearm throbbed, the teeth marks from her previous opponent making her wince as she gripped her blade with what resolve she could muster. The creature in front of her scratched as it's neck, the music like sound of tinkling stone from it's mane of protrusions. This had been her second
  18. Using the pommel of her weapon, Kat slammed a heavy hand down on the wolf's head, causing it to let go of her for just long enough for her to jump back. The half hearted attack had not been without its disadvantages, her arm throbbing even more from the strike. She watched at the mob shook it's head slightly from disorientation, but the blonde felt herself freeze up as she got a better look at her opponent. This wolf was not unlike the ones she had faced previously with their disgusting mineral like growths, however this one had several that ran from it's shoulder to it's hip. The same di
  19. The samurai made her first mistake in thinking the the fight was over, her second was taking her eyes off the red and black crystals that had absorbed the fallen mobs. Once she had caught her breath Kat had returned to the initial tree where everything had taken place, taking care to retrieve as much evidence as she could of the mysterious players that had created the lure and, at least to her assumptions, the wolves that had gone after her. The small bottle of blight was now corked and safely in her inventory when a twig snapped behind her. A grow began to reverberate through the forest
  20. "Yeah, yeah," Freyd grumbled, having messed up his own plan, though probably still saving their asses in the process. "You're already a studly, stronk Shonen protagonist, m'kay? Firm Anima doesn't hand out captain's titles to wet naps. So stop thinking you have something to prove." He'd have gone on longer, but the pressing throng of angry pirate-folk didn't look overly keen on continuing to parley. A look was enough to get the point across. Both players nodded and immediately scurried to the skiff, Freyd muzzling Ryland with his right hand and pointing at another, less hostile, dock
  21. "Yeah, I would rather not.." He would reply to the possible hair like creatures that could be lurking around. The defeat of the creatures entwined also cleared out some of the obstacles around them. The stalactites and stalagmites seemed shaven away from the blows that Freyd had flared out against the entwined Utterances. There seemed to be light at the end of the tunnel, quite literally even. "I'll be.. better once we're out of here. Maybe.." Hirru responded to his companions inquiry to his health, though he was probably more talking about the hunter's lack of response. Th
  22. She knew he meant well, but watching Freyd crack Ulric over the head for over twice the amount of damage she did previously made her eye twitch ever so slightly. She was frustrated. The samurai knew deep down that she was strong now, much stronger than she had been in the past. However she felt as though she was hitting a wall, reaching a peak that she was soon going to fall off of. Ulric Drell spat on the ground and readied himself to attack Freyd. As he heaved his arm back he blinked in confusion. It felt wrong, as if his arm was much lighter than it had previously been. Looking to his
  23. ♬ Violet watched as Freyd struggled to speak, knowing full well how much pain he was likely feeling. It had to be incredibly, incredibly agonizing to allow his walls to collapse for even the barest, briefest of moments. 'You're hurting... you're hurting bad, and you can barely comprehend it.. can you?' Elora was much more tense than before, the barest trace of anger flitting across her face as she slid the notebook forward... the anger fading almost instantly the moment she'd dropped her mask away. Now it was replaced by concern, along with traces of concern and apprehension as she watche
  24. Well played, Elora. Well played... Freyd was still trying to squeegee egg yolk out of his already perpetually messy mop of hair, now stylized with extra body that was tangibly hardening in the open air. Her response had been more subtle and effective than he'd expected. Not that she wasn't capable of guile. He'd seen the play of her lips hinting at the secret monologue within, the sly glances out of corners of her eyes. Elora was no slouch. And, while not exactly an open book, he'd come to know better than anyone in Aincrad could likely claim. Time to use that... for the most fun-fi
