Zandra

Zandra’s axe had landed far away from the mob. She cursed herself that she had already forgotten the agility of the Terra Firma. She grit her teeths. ‘’I should have buffed up with some accuracy food for this one.’’ She mumbled to herself. That was when she saw the big monster slam into Shield. Zandra almost had to take a step back from the shockwave that was sent over the area from the heavy impact. For a second she got blinded by the blowing sand, thou her survival skill kicked in and she quickly regained her focus. Yes, this was her moment. The Terra Firma was basically locked in place as it competed against Shield who got push forward or stand still the longest.

‘’Keep him in place!’’ Zandra screamed as she as fast she could charged up Explode catapult, at the same time she started to run towards the couple. ‘’Come oooon, faster!’’ she said thru closed teeths to her axe. She had placed herself within range. ‘’Faster!’’ she said again. One second later she felt it. The sword art contected. A milli second later she activated it. The axe flew thru the air and slammed into the beast, taking away some of its health. But this was just the beginning.

Zandra took a few deep breaths as she looked up at the mighty dragon. The mighty dragon that over a dozen frontliners was steadily bringing down to its death. This was totally a new experience for Zandra. At first, they had met him in his first form which easily got defeated. Next he leveled up and got defeated as well. Then he appeared in his final form, with four heavy healthbar. But with combined effort, they have left him unable to act and kept themselves at close to full, if not completely full, full health.

But now he was down to his final healthbar, and Zandra had tried to really play the support role this time. And she must say her opinion is that she had succeded with it. She had even got a selfie together with Skalaugh.

Then she charged up the Explode catapult, kneeled down, and darted forward. There was something she saw that was very familiar to her. Teseleths Fury. So the wielder must be Oscar. He was hitting at the dragons nails. Zandra that had enough experience with two handed battle axes to not get too close to  @Oscar. Instead she placed herself on the other side of the foot. As the sword art was ready, she stopped, raised her axe and ‘’Aaahhh!!!’’ shouted out as the axehead fell down on the dragon’s foot. It wasn’t a deep cut, but it was better then nothing.

The berserk healer had just landed an attack, which dealt a big amount of damage to the oversized reptile in front of the group of frontliners. But she had not only damaged the beast, she had also stunned it. This was the first time in a long time that she had seen that. Yes, she do have the bullrush mod which stuns on charge. But all bigger boss, like events and floor progress, had been immune to that. But after all, Morg had started the combat with a paralyze. ‘’Yes, finally!’’ she said out loud as she put her two handed axe on the ground and took out a unique item. An item that she had got from Teayre a long, long time ago. A smirk on her face as she did a deep and long inhale. She looked at the dragon as she moved the Amphibian war rally to her lips.

‘’ScReeeeereeeeeeree!’’

A loud screeching sound was herd. Much greater then the horns size. The sound echoed across the battlefield. The strong rallying sound was enough to make the wielders enemies to get paralyzed with fear. When there was no air left in her, Zandra removed the horn and took some deep breaths to get herself back into fighting stance. Thou blowing the horn had made her lose the opportunity to join this wave of attacks.

Zandra cursed to herself. Someone in the squad that was fighting Skaluagh had paralyzed it. So Zandra that had spent one turn to protect everyone with her barrier mod, had basically wasted one attack, and a lot of energy. Well, normally, event, floor and labyrinth bosses cant be cc’d. But that made a thougth pop up in her mind. What about, since this would happen, she would probably be safe even if going down a bit with her defensive abilities. She smirked as she activated her quick change mod. In an instant, her big shoulder guards and draconic themed armor disappeared and got replaced by a pair of braces. ‘’Oh right.’’ she said as another thougth appeared, she pulled down her shirt a bit as he hand quickly scrolled thru menu’s. She looked away from the dragon as she smiled and took a photo with the dragon in the background. Then she closed turned towards the dragon and started to run as she charged up her Explode catapult. ‘’Hello there, now I wont miss you Skalaugh.’’ She said and released the power of the two handed axe combined with the charge skill and bullrush. As the dragon recovered from the paralyze, the stun condition appeared on it. Zandra backed off. ‘’HOW DO YOU FEEL THAT LIZARD PIECE OF [censoured]’’ she screamed towards it.

Zandra gave Dustin a smile and a thumb up as he asked about the beach party. ‘’Yes, that was me. Damn it dealt a big hit on my savings. But it turned out quite good I think. There haven’t really been that big of an event ever since. Except the one triggered by the game ofcourse. There is no way to com…’’ she got interrupted as an monkey tackled her from behind. The berserk healer stumbled a few steps forward before she got back her balance. Her eyes started to burn as she did a 180 spin on the spot. There she was, eye to eye to a baboon looking creature. ‘’don’t interrupt me when Im trying to hold a conversation!’’ she said to the monkey, that probably didn’t understood her. Then she charged forward as her axe started to shine with a bright blue light. ‘’DIE!’’ she shouted as the two handed weapon cleaved and shattered the monkey. From the momentum she had built up, two more monkeys got hit by powerful swings, another one shattering and the third dropping down into the red zone. Thou the space where the monkeys had been a few seconds earlier, was already filled with another couple of monkeys already. ‘’Sounds like you was on the beach party? Did you enjoyed it?’’

Zandra nodded with a smile in reply to Shield’s comment that the boss didn’t let them wait for him. Or her. That was a thing with many of the bosses actually, if they was male or female. Well, not that it really mattered that much, they would still be killed by her axe. She was all for gender equality. Wouldn’t hesitate to hit a mob just because it is one or the other sex. ‘’How many attacks you wonder huh?’’ she said as he asked how many attacks it would take to bring the terra firma down. ‘’Hmm, with this axe, I will probably need two hits on it.’’ Her eyes went to the enemy. ‘’Well, if I can get the attacks to hit its supposed target.’’ She added as she concentrated on it. She grit her teeths but it seemed her concentration skill wouldn’t activate. ‘’Damnit, my Concentration skill wont work. Guess I have to take it without it.’’ She said and exploded forward, her charge skill leaving a big sand cloud behind her as she flew thru the air. She had hoped to land the first strike, since that would made it so much easier to land the next strike as well. But no, all her axe striked was sand. ‘’Goddanmnit!’’ she cursed to herself as she dodged out of the way for its counterattack.

Zandra stood beside Itzal in silence. For him the ring choice was simple. For all dps players, the damage ring was the obvious choice. There was a set amount of sources you could increase your damage from, this was one. Well, maybe she should go for that ring as well. Even as a support, you will probably go the dps road every now and then in combat. It isn’t always that your friends need support. But no, she was judged by so many about her choice to support a player killer, she needed to change that look on her. She wanted to truly be someone that you can cover up behind, that you can rely on. She nodded to Itzal. ‘’Yes, you are right. I will focus on optimizing my abilities as a support player, and since there is no way to reduce the energy cost for first aid skills like there is for sword arts, I will need as much energy as I can get.’’ She gave him a hug as she felt her heart rate increase. ‘’This is quite exciting. To be max out my build so I will be able to stand by your side thru the whole fight.’’ She then turned to the priest. ‘’I choose the driven enchanment on my ring.’’

Zandra glanced at Macradon and silently  grit her teeths. What was he saying? He don’t want to be go into the supporter role because he want to get his hands dirty. Well, this wasn’t a magic based game, there wasn’t really a backline and healing spells like in your typical mmo. Well, it wouldn’t add anything to the meeting for her to start an argue about it. Thou she would probably mention it to Itzal after the meeting. She had learned how dangerous it was to keep stuff to yourself and carry it alone. One day you would have to much and it would explode. Or that was how it was for her.

Zandra thougth for some minutes before she once again spoke up. ‘’I think I should change what I meant a bit earlier. Yes, I can supply you with mass heal crystals. But if you need mass heal crystals, you need to drop by at my store. It is free but so I make enough but not way to many, you need to drop by and pick up your own set of 5 mass heal crystals. I have to take my leave now but…’’ she looked at Baldur.’’…you know what I can do and I will follow your order.’’ She said, took a few steps and took back the glow stone and left. On the way out she passed Itzal. ‘’Sorry, some stuff said made me irritated and I have to go. Don’t really have anything else to say that will add anything to the meeting. See you at home.’’ She whispered so only he could hear.

Zandra rose as she saw Mari approach her waiting spot. She put on a friendly smile and shoke her head. ‘’Hello Mari.’’ She started in a polite tone. ‘’Nonono, I just got here as well.’’ She lied as an answer to her comment about Zandra being early. She wasn’t quite sure what to say more. Her relationship with Mari at the moment was, complicated. She wanted to change that. After all, wouldn’t be very unlikely that there may come a moment in the future when their life will be in the others hands.

‘’So, I did some intel searching about this quest.’’ She didn’t wanted to be in same position as last time, where she didn’t knew anything and just jumped into the quest blindly. She had talked to an info broker that specialized in this floor so she think she have enough information for them to go thru the quest smoothly. ‘’Not sure how much you know already but we need to search for the colossus so if you wonder anything I can fill you in while we walk? Im ready to go when you are.’’ She said with a quite formal voice. Hopefully she would relax a bit as they went out into the wild.

The boy did what Zandra had asked of him. Quickly, with a few well aimed slashes, the remaining couple of wights got destroyed as their health dropped down to zero and left the two players in a sea of crystals. Followed by that, the male said she seemed quite happy. Then mumbled something she couldn’t hear. With a smile on her lips she nodded. ‘’Yeah, ofcourse Im happy. Getting out into the wild and doing some fighting again is always fun.’’ She looked at her axe, spun it a few times before putting it back into her battle ready inventory. Then she patted the kings eagle on her shoulder. ‘’Zita also enjoys an easy battle from time to time. How about you? Do you enjoy the battles in this death game? I understand if you don’t, I have a friend that think I am stupid that thinking it is fun. And we went into quite an argument about it not to long ago.’’

She looked at the direction where he was looking. ‘’Yupp, that is probably where the king are.’’

Zandra prepared herself for the impact. The impact of energy that the dragon released. She had hoped to mitigate some of the damage by going with the attack, but nope. No movement that in real life would have lowered the strength and power it hit her affected it in the game. Well, everything was pixels after all. But also finally. FINALLY! The enemy had landed a strike on her. She felt shivers thru her body and a smile on her lips. Her health had dropped almost a fourth of her full bar. Thou the smile disappeared when she saw the health of her party members. Some have dropped dangerously low. She prepared to activate her field medic skill, but before she could do that, other players have popped their healing crystals. Zandra rolled her eyes as she cancelled the skill. Instead she channeled her other party wide defensive mod. A hexagon pattern appeared on everyones body for a few seconds before it disappeared and turned to a small marker beside the health bar. She wanted to attack the dragon, she really did. But the safety of her party members is more important than her own lust.

Zandra sat on her bed, looking at the axe she held in her hands infront of her. Well, it was a great axe, it had served her well so far. But still she felt that hole in herself, that something was wrong, something was missing. Would she ever be able to stop feeling that? She took a deep sigh before putting it back into her inventory and rising. She still missed Teseleths fury. Nothing would be the same without it. Another sigh as she walked down the stairs. ‘’Come on Zita, it is time.’’ At the front door, she grabbed a potion that was tsanding on the shelf. She opened it and emptied it in a few gulps. After seeing Mari buffing up before the fight, she thougth that was a good idea. Noone would ever buy her rare potions anyway, so now she had a few dozens ready to be used. She left her estate behind her and headed to floor 19.

As she came down to Ralberg, she headed to a bench outside one of the gardens. Still in sight from the portal and a good view of the area. There she waited for someone that she hoped she would conquer her fear against. Day before she had sent a mail to Mari that she was thinking to doing another Scent of the wild quest. And it did sounded like she wanted to do it as well. They did decide to meet up but Zandra had headed there half an hour early, just to make sure she wouldn’t be late.

Zandra’s face was in the dirt, looking into darkness. What the heck did just happened? A second ago she was rushing towards the dragon. Then she fell? Her breathing got heavier and faster as she started to push herself up. She brushed away the dirt still in her face. Her fists knit as she took a few steps to her axe and picked it up. She saw the other players jumping in and landing a second attack as well, and she haven’t even done her first. Her heart beated faster and faster in her chest. She grit her teeths as her face turned red. She wasn’t exhausted, not emberresed. She was furious, how could she, the berserk healer, fail to land a hit in a fight like this. Her eyes burned with an intense fire, only matched by the flames of her burning armor Inferno.

She had seen another player being hit, and hit hard. She didn’t really cared about her own health anymore, so a quick swipes with her left hand, without looking away from the overgrown lizard even for a split second, she sent the Horn of the unicorn to the wounded player.

Zandra started to charge up her explode catapult and prepared to activate her charge. ‘’Now!’’ she said right before she shot away. ‘’You!’’ she followed up as she almost flew thru the air. ‘’DIE!’’ she finished of, activated the Explode catapult which made her big two handed axe cleave thru the dragon’s leg at the same time as Zita, the kings eagle, went for his eye. She felt the fallen smoke and burning flames inside her that she have felt so many times before. But this axe couldn’t channel the power of dark and fire power. Still, her attack hopefully did some damage to the beast.

The axes counterattacked and swung towards the berserk healer. Thou all she did was smile. If they landed hits on her, so what? Her battle healing combined with her new axe was enough to make sure she would be still alive. But still, time to get rid of the axes as well. So she charged up explode catapult and released it. The two handed weapon feel down upon them, one after the other. And before they could strike back, they was all dead and shattered into pieces. Another reward screen poped up infront of Zandra. ‘’Ohmigash. This is going very fast indeed. I think we will be able to complete our goal today Zita. The one million col goal we have.’’ She looked at Zita and it looked like Zita nodded in reply. ‘’Im happy to have you Zita, you understand me.’’ She said and gave her loved eagle a heartfull hug.

But yepp, today they would probably be able to go on for long before they would have tor etreat. Zandra thanked her high energy pool for that. ‘’Well, that is because of our hard work isn’t it Zita? Reaching max level haven’t been an easy journey.’’ And as she darted towards next group of mobs, she thougth about all the adventures she had been thru from the day she entered this death world. She still rembered how she woke up in that house the first day. Where she was a total stranger but still the inhabitants took care of her after she had passed out on the street. And with that thougth, she activated the explode catapult, cleaving thru another group, axes this time actually. Zandra raised an eyebrow, she was fighting axes with an axe, kinda comical isn’t it? Well no, not really to be honest. She thougth to herself.

And when the four enemies was there, floating a few feets above the ground doing nmothing thanks to the stun from Zandra’s bulrush, they did another combined attack. Thou this time the health bars didn’t changed colours, they disappeared completely. And as the four bars went to noithing, so did the digital beeings. And as the crystals have shattered into nothiness as well, a reward screen poped up infront of Zandra. ‘’Sweet, the col have been running in this steady. Yes, when we had Teseleths fury, some of our attacks dealt a lot of damage so we got tons of col. But it seems having these confirmed hits is better then not having confirmed hits but stronger ones. At least we know how much we will get. And be sure of how fast they will die so when we will be safe and when we will have to retreat to safety.’’

So, now she had killed two of the groups of swords that was inhabiting the area surrounding the main settlement of the floor twenty two. She was just gonna take a look around when she herd something behind her. It was another four spirit-swords. ‘’Zita, time again.’’ She said and with another eagle cry, the duo charged into battle. Zandra, with her two handed battle axe, cleaved again and again thru the enemies that surrounded them as they had jumped into the middle of the group of weapon spirits. At the same time, Zita darted in and out, peeking the swords with her razor sharp beak and scratching them with her claws that was as knifes. The two figthers together dealt enough damage to from just one attack, turn the four green health bars all into yellow ones. ‘’There, let us just lande another hit on them.’’ Zandra said to Zita.

The swords cleaved towards Zandra. Thou all the berserk healer did was laughing in their faces. ‘’You think that will even slow me down? Then you haven’t met me, the berserk healer. Some people also do know me as Zandra.’’ She said just to fill out the time while she was fighting. That was the only downside with farming. After some time it went really mono and boring. But as long as she threw in stiupid comments like that every now and then, she would probably be fine. So now it was her turn to attack back on the swords. She charged up her Explode catapult agaon, then she released the power of the dragon that was kept inside her. The axe cleaved thru all four of them and shattered them into pieces. Zandra looked at the reward screen with a smile. This was nicew. The col had started to pour in.

She started to run down the hill, her new shard formed axe in her hands. Her eyes was focused on a group of four more spirit swords, not that far away. She picked up her speed. Thou this time not with the help of charge. Her thougths flied away to a few years ago. Back then, there was no cooldown on the charge skill. So she could use it again and again and again… Until she didn’t wanted to anymore. Thou she started to charge up her explode catapult as she was running. ‘’Haha, here I come ghost like creatures. Come on then, try to hurt me with your fake edges.’’ And with the she activated Explode catapult. The axe swung once again and cleaved thru the four swords. The healthbars of the mobs drained down, until it reached half way, there it stopped and the swords counter attacked on Zandra.

 ‘’Haha, what do say about thet?’’ she asked the stunned swords. Of course they didn’t answered. They was mobs and also pårobably didn’t understood what she said anyway. She smiled as she charged up the attack again, this time without any charge. But still, thanks to the power of the two handed battle axe, she swung it and cleaved all four of them, reducing their health to zero just a few seconds after she had engaged the enemy. ‘’Well, easy peasy warm up don’t you think Zita?’’ she asked the kings-eagle. She answered with a mighty cry, that echoed over the field surrinding the two individuals. Zandra glanced away, there was more, many more groups of spirit weapons. Mainly swords, but also some axes, clubs, spears. Yes, even some bows could be seen. But the two hunters’s focus was on the swords to start with. ‘’Okay Zita, lets hunt some swords.’’

So now it was time, the big day for Zandra. Several times before she had done some small col or material farming. But it have never been crazy much. But today was different. ‘’Zita, you ready to make the mobs dead?’’ she asked her feathered familiar as she entered the warp portal. A few moments later she exited it on floor 22. Floor 22 that was her favourite floor. Actually her only floor to choose to make her farming the most useful as possible. Not only because here, she was able to two-shot the mobs. But also, since she had been here so many times earlier, she knew exactly where the best spawning spots would be. And just as she thougth, there was a group of spirit sword. A smirk on Zandra’s face as she exploded forward, activating her axe and immedialty reduced all the swords helath to below half.

Zandras heart was already beating harder thanks to the hyperactive effect she had put on herself. But when she saw their opponent arise on the battlefield, it was almost bursting thru her armor. A dragon. It was really a fully big dragon. Her over-joy to get the opportunity to fight a dragon again, after she and five others had defeated one not that long ago. Thou back, there had been a ballista present. Now there wasn’t, or was it? She thougth she had seen a treb before the dragon arrived. But if there was or wasn’t any siege weapons nearby, that thougth had now disappeared. All on her mind was the big beast infront of her, and how she was gonna bring it down.

She herd Macradon calling out to her. He had wanted to do their pretty powerful opening move they have done more then once before. And yes, it have given quite a good result. But with the sudden appearance, there wasnt much time to communicate and plan. She nodded to him and prepared her Explode catapult. ‘’@Macradon @Morgenstern We have done this before not that long ago. We had Hestia, Baldur and Ariel with us that time, lets see if these ones is good enough to take their place.’’ She said with a smile and a wink to the other two that had fought the immortal shadow. And with that, she bursted forward. No use to play medic just yet. Now, burst phase.

Thou sometimes, being hyperactive isn’t the best thing to be. Zandra was so excited, so pumped, so focused, to fight the dragon. That she didn’t watched where she put her feets. Suddenly, just when she was gonna start the activation channeling, she lost her footing, and fell straight down on the ground, face first. She lost the grip of her axe that flew a meter or two before landing on the ground with a heavy thud.

She was just gonna do another strike as she herd a male voice from the side. With one quick move she changed stance to face whatever was coming from the thick vegtation. The monkeys probably even deal enough to not get below her battle healing. Her muscle memory also opened her battle ready inventory andthanks to quick change, she now was covered in a black heavy armor.

But it didn’t seemed like he was a player killer wanting to kill her. ‘’HA! Hold them off? I hope you don’t judge me to much for kill stealing.’’ She said, swung her axe on a couple off them. One of them shattered but where he had stood, now two more took his place. ‘’oops.’’ She said as she saw the sound of combat had probably bringed even more creatures to the scene. The other player, named Dustin seemed to be able to fight thou. ‘’Heya Dustin. I’m Zandra. Lets get rid of some more of these. I hope you can fight.’’

Zandra got helped up into standing position with her feets steady on the ground. She brushed the remaining snow off of her clothes. ‘’Thank you. I’m alright’’ She said as he asked how she was. She got a sligth blush on her cheek. Not because of emberresment of have fall, but off being lectured by someone that most likely had less experience about this floor then she had. After all, this had been her home for a good two years. Thou she mentioned any of it as he had already darted away. He came back and warned her for three more incoming. She took a deep breath, activating her consentration skill, charged up her charge as well, and bursted forwar.

She knew she should hold back a little. But her inner battle spirit, even when she tried she couldn’t hold it back. ‘’HAHA! Take this!’’ she swung her axe and immediately, two of the wigths shattered. As the swing was done, she quickly turned so she could hit a third of them. Thou the fourth was to far away. On the good side thou, he was to far away to hit her as well. ‘’There, finish those snowmen off!’’ she said with a happy voice.

Oh, he seemed to be very eager to know about what level she was. But she still didn’t knew what to say. If she said anything else then max-level, she would be lying. And honestly, she hadn’t lied yet, it had just been him that have taken the wrong conlusions. But now she needed a distraction, quick. She looked around her when she saw it. One of his footsteps had revealed a root. A root that was perfect for falling. ‘’Oh right I didn’t. You said your’s was twenty something right?’’ She aimed carefully as she moved her foot right under the root. A smile on her face that she succeded with her plan. ‘’Mine is.. ooaahh!!’’ she finished of with a scream as she fell, face forward straight at the layer of snow a few meters behind him. She felt the cold towards her bare skin. Yes, it was cold, but not painful, the game took care of removing that.
