The insistent chattering birds and rhythmic plucking of a stringed instrument worked wonders to ruin the tranquility of the forest. A jaded old warrior and a girl seeming to no longer be suction cupped to whatever hole she'd like to bury herself in for once. "Could you all pipe it down?" an oddly younger sounding tone that worked to muddy her identity even more then the normal more mature one. "I'm sure I got a pot and pan if you wanna make it official." she'd meander past the duo and slide up the ruins staircase causing her white hair to pool past in its length that damn near went to her knee

"Seriously?" Greyed brow rose with mixed confusion and consternation. No one came to this floor. Ever. Except if they were after that puma thing, but that was way on the other edge of the castle. Only esoteric foragers ever came this way, and they'd all been scared off by Cardinal's latest broadcast. The inns were full to overflowing, everyone seeking shelter or drowning their sorrows thanks to that glitched quest on twenty nine. As soon as the masses figured that one out there were hardly any players left sober across all of Aincrad, save a few stoically stubborn souls like himself

Sitting there against the old cracked up building, there was something about it but was unable to place her finger on it. Sounds of a water fall, visually it was beautiful and very loud. There was something relaxing about it though, helped keep concentration on her new found focus. A base guitar, it seemed beat up in more ways that one. Legs crossed half in front of her as she played a tune that she was very familiar with. One that would be on repeat, blasting while she gamed her eyes out back in the day. Sam wasn't very good at playing it but anyone who new the song would get the gist of it,

The dew strewn crevice a glittering stone, white wall and roaring with bleeding waves. A large hexagonal room that has since fallen silent. Where many like it would be lit and known, this had fallen black and forgotten. Just outside, the pyre lay dormant and cold. None knew of this place, and even fewer had the gull to seek it out. The wave of a wand to forget, and the cast of a conductor to make it remain. Trapped. Empty. But as time would tell, all things are subject to change. The wind itself seemed to carry this lesson so readily. As it roared so too did the thick and muggy trees of t

Tauropolos Alexis Wolfe; 25(F) 5’3; 105lbs; Lithe; Blonde(w/green highlights) Alexis Wolfe was born in America to a struggling family in a small town. It wasn’t long until her father was out of the picture leaving her in the custody of just her mother. She was too young at the time to really understand what had happened to her father and her mother wasn’t very keen on talking about it. Alexis didn’t want to be a burden on her mother so she opted to not press her on the subject. That didn’t hold her back though. Early in life, Alexis picked up many hobbies to distract herself from

Katoka replied to Elora's topic in Intermediate Floors
Another head cocking moment. As Hanami followed the rolling stones that made up the little golem she was familiar with, the dragon came across a strange creature that emanated an aura of... nuttiness. All tentacles and suction cups the thing was holding on to a piece of Borris as it seemed to be floating in the air towards a reflective ghost like being. She felt her own tug towards the thing, as if it's purpose was to pull her in and make her apart of it. She shook her head, that wouldn't be nice at all. If she was a part of the mirror thing then she wouldn't be able to nap in the sun. Looking -

"Hey Acanthus, sorry to ask, but would you message your friend Argent and tell him I found you? He's been blowing up my inbox and I couldn't respond while fighting." “Argent?” So he *hadn’t* trusted her to find a party. She bit her lip in frustration, trying to tamp down her annoyance. Argent was only trying to help, and after saving her once, Acanthus begrudgingly owed him. Stiffly, she opened her messages and sent a quick confirmation. <<Argent. Made it here. I found a party. Baldur sends his regards.>> Acanthus thought better of expressing her anger through the me -

Klepto frolic in full bloom, Reliq was all set to keep bounding about when his new pet rock suddenly jerked as if it had gotten lodged in thick air. Confused, eyes bulging and blinking at the oddity, tiny tentacles yanking ineffectively against whatever magnetic force countered their efforts. Something was calling the stone another direction. Something powerful. At first he thought it might be the weird flying fluffy thing with its own rock collection heading his way. Maybe they wanted to compare shinies? But, no. This was something different... shinier... and infinitely more sinister. F -

Wulfrin replied to Morningstar's topic in Intermediate Floors
"Indeed," Wulfrin nodded in agreement. "We still haven't checked that living room yet. I'll take point." Wulfrin did just that and led the duo back towards the living room just off the entrance hall. The room had only afforded a cursory glance when they first entered, but with their newfound information, everything needed to be under intense scrutiny. Shadows danced around the living room as a fire roared within the hearth. Firewood was stacked nearby, but served little more than a decorative bit of immersion. Wulfrin knew that fuel wasn't necessary in Aincrad, hell his own forge never on -

Baldur replied to Baldur's topic in Intermediate Floors
As Darkness descended over sections of the square, and more and more players escaped, the voids in the player's phalanx began be exploited, and the inky, wet forces of the deep slipped through, attacking the backs of players that were queuing for the teleport plaza. <<Kumamon>> heard the calls for retreat and pushed his way towards the teleport plaza. As a scout, he came prepared with teleport crystals, but he hadn't been expecting a brawl in what should have been another safe zone. He was expecting the normal party, exploring a fresh new city, interrogating new NPCs to try an -

Baldur replied to Freyd's topic in Intermediate Floors
"Well that's new." Baldur remarked as one of the player familiars took a glass shard and suddenly turned into another of these boss monsters. "We definitely need to let others know about that... I guess it makes sense there's no NPCs on this floor." Freyd as his familiar dove into the attack without hesitation, though Freyd called out concerned over his familiar, they had a powerful 1-2 punch. Not to be outdone, Baldur threw himself at the Spectral Knight. "It has the ability to apply a bunch of DoT attacks to a huge area, so just be careful of that!" As Baldur drew his sword, t -

Mixed feelings met the sound of Acanthus' voice as she rounded the corner to join them. Last he'd seen the woman, she'd fled the chaos of their arrival on this accursed floor by running recklessly into its wilds. Trust had been an early casualty in the shock of their arrival. No safe zone. No NPCs. Hordes of horrific mobs led by eldritch champions besieging them from the outset and twisted whispers that messed with the mind in every stinking, miasmic vapour. Doubts and skepticism were nagging, at the best of times. And now another mysterious threat. “And I thought I was prone to un -

Lessa replied to Freyd's topic in Intermediate Floors
"Okay, sorry, I'm back!" The shout carried through the fog, and was followed seconds later by a bedraggled Lessa. Her cheeks were flushed crimson with exertion, and framed by the tendrils of blonde hair that were plastered by the never-ending rain. Mud climbed Lessa’s boots, splattered as high as her armored thighs, and caked the hem of her cape. She’d limited herself to only half a dozen complaints about the abysmal conditions, so as not to bring down morale, but another danced just on the tip of her tongue as she slowed to a stop beside Jomei. “Got distracted by a-” Octopus? Morningstar replied to Morningstar's topic in Intermediate Floors
So Morningstar did, and what it spat out was nonsensical at a glance. He scribbled it down in the same notebook as the puzzle, reading it over in his head a few times before sharing with Wulfrin. rainbowssinsworldwondersheaven. rainbowssinsworldwondersheaven. rainbowssinsworldwondersheaven. rainbowssinsworldwondersheaven. He picked apart the words. "Rainbows sins world wonders heaven?" Staring blankly at Wulfrin, he pondered the words. Then, after some time, a lightbulb went off in his head. "Oh, shit!" He underlined words as he rattled off his realization. "The number of c -

Wulfrin replied to Morningstar's topic in Intermediate Floors
Wulfrin's attention was drawn from his decoding. He was confident he had two numbers, but without two others to test he had no way to confirm. Morningstar had seemingly uncovered something else and not a nonagram as was previously hinted at by the book. Wulfrin looked it over and instantly it clicked. "The writing isn't a scramble," Wulfrin remarked, turning to yet another blank page in his draft book. "Pretty sure it's a Caesar Cipher. Could take a minute to decode unless we can find how many times each letter was transposed." Wulfrin sat down and started with the first attempt of 26. Lu -

Morningstar replied to Morningstar's topic in Intermediate Floors
Smix was a stretch, but it was better than nothing. While Wulfrin grasped at straws, Morningstar further explored the bedroom. Another book—this time a novel—sat on the nightstand. The title read, "Love Among the Lichens by Scarlett Burbadge." The book was unfamiliar to him, so he wondered if the author was real or fictitious, created quest immersion. He opened it and skimmed the first few pages. It was a romance novel, he gathered. It wasn't his genre. The desk opposite to him had far more interesting items on display. He sat down and pulled the lamp cord. It illuminated the room well en -

"Cool," Wulfrin said as he looked over the various trinkets passed his way. "I haven't done any before so I'll let you take the lead on this one. I'll keep focusing on the riddle." Wulfrin made his way over to the bed and sat down on the rather uncomfortable matress. Out came his draft book again this time he turned to yet another blank page and reevaluated their progress thus far, with the new knowledge that they were looking for a combination. The kitchen was easy enough to figure out, considering Wulfrin had laready stumbled on the commonality, all the cretures in the scramble had one -

Morningstar replied to Morningstar's topic in Intermediate Floors
Morningstar had know idea what the last bit of the riddle was referring to, but Wulfrin's theories for the previous two parts had weight. He knelt down to look at the combination lock. Four numbers were required to open it. With a curled fist, he knocked on the door. "Hello? Any lighthouse keepers home?" He waited a second. And then another. Nobody replied. They returned from the tower with more questions than answers. The next room they found was clearly a bedroom—presumably, it was the lighthouse keeper's. The bed was made neatly with no indication that anyone had slept in it -

Morningstar replied to Freyd's topic in Intermediate Floors
"Let's call it five," Morningstar corrected, joining from the rear. He was elbow deep in an inky black mess. He wasn't even sure what kind of creature it was anymore. Tentacles constricted around his arm, tightening the more he struggled. Somehow, despite being impaled by a spear-like jab, it lived on. His free hand burned golden and he sliced his way out of the monster's grip. He was disheveled; his normally pristine jacket was in tatters and it looked as though he'd been playing in the dirt. Nevertheless, his smile remained. The ruination of his Ilridge outpost left him frustrated -

Wulfrin replied to Morningstar's topic in Intermediate Floors
Wulfrin shrugged in unison with Morningstar as the two were equally stumped on the word scramble. While they had an answer, Wulfrin was far from confident that it was correct. He recollected his things and followed Morningstar up into the lantern room of the lighthouse. Glass crunched beneath their feet as they stepped foot inside. It seems a lantern had fallen and shattered, possibly in whatever had caused the lighthouse keeper's disappearance. Wulfrin clocked the literal writing on the ceiling. "I'm still working through the other two riddles," Wulfrin said as they descended back down t
