Scents of the Wild: Keepers of Nature News had quickly reached Aoi’s ears once it had become common knowledge. News of the newfound area within the first floor’s vast wildlands, a place that sat upon the edges of the floor’s existence and led into a cavern that was once the most sought after farming location. Now, as the rumours suggested, it had become an abandoned and empty cave, filled with naught but a single large, closed door carved into the very stone that had been nothing but wall previously. Only a large tree, supposedly inscribed with illegible script, sat alongside this newfoun

"I have no frame of reference," Wulfrin sighed as Freyd continued with his odd descriptions of the carvings. "The bird like one could be a condor, like the Nazca Lines, but that's also a stretch. As for your so called ripper, I've not gotten a chance to tango with that one." Wulfrin turned his attention to his own carvings. None of which made any more sense that the ones pointed out by The Whisper. The same imagery repeated, a four armed mass holding a chain with a bell affixed. Could that possibly be the secret this place was trying to hide. The whole thing was giving Wulfrin the heeby g

Watching in a silent observation as she'd done solely as she was asked, an ode to trust in the same regard to the gamble he had taken to bring her here. Once she had become rather still, the syringe lay empty on her lap he opened the chamber and started to prepare it for a possible future guest. She however would enjoy a much shorter stint, although her little marker would make positioning her much more difficult. Gathering her things into a larger linen bag, he'd sling it over one shoulder and her over the other. It was a fair amount, but not so much that she couldn't be carted. Into a crate

Listening to every word a few things come to mind. The first was that Freyd already knew about her friends death but it didn't click until the names were actually said. Saying them the first time should have triggered the knowledge but she assumed that Freyd just wanted her to say it out loud. Maybe that was because he wanted to make sure that she was actually trying to figure out stuff by herself, crossing the T's and dotting the I's type of thing. "My first thought goes to Lium but I really don't want him involved. He stayed out of this for a reason so I want to respect his wishes. I'll go h

Mari shifted herself to a seated position, sitting cross legged on the floor. Her arms folded over her chest. She felt sick. The man undoubtedly deserved to die, but who was she to have made that call? And there was a stark difference between death - and torture. The method did not sit right with the woman. Still. She kept silent. He clapped for her, and Mari felt equal parts pride - and disgust. She wasn’t sure why a part of her craved the accolades of a madman, but it had - the disgust…because she seemingly played into the exact thing he so desired. Mari watched as he shifted; mov

The crow unfolds his arms and offers another resounding clap of those heavy gloves of his, as if to congratulate the woman for being able to look past her own short comings. Having divorced emotion and reason, he'd manage to cut through that overbearing moral high ground that everyone had always taken. Moving off to the cells right, Vitreous opens the clear glass door by pulling a handle. The thing hisses as a billowing chill flows out and starts to skirt the floor. The cold vial of a stored blue hued liquid that would not be unfamiliar to Mari in the slightest. After all it was the same drug

Acanthus replied to Freyd's topic in Intermediate Floors
With the Knight stuck in a bear trap, the players rallied for one last push. The fatigue of back-to-back battles crept into her extremities. The buzz of adrenaline wore off by the second, replaced by the buzz of Cardinal’s warnings: watch out for this, you can’t do that, and most importantly, don’t die! But they weren’t dying today. A concerted effort from the players was turning the tide. Not just the players here, but those scattered across the floor, even those below who were shoring up defenses for the Knights that might break through. Every ounce of effort was a weight taken of -
"No I did not eat..." stopping as her eyes widen at the sudden half hug. Well that had never happened before. Freyd does something down there, as the water starts to rumble. Glancing down a door was opening inside the water slowly. It had apparently not been open for a while. The magical liquid started draining and after a few seconds they were all left standing in a foot of water. "Was sorta hoping it was going to rise not," gesturing her hands around. "Well into the unknown we go I guess," saying as she starts walking through the tunnel. This place was so weird, it was full of mystery, traps

Wulfrin replied to Freyd's topic in Intermediate Floors
Wulfrin watched as Freyd effortlessly around the knight before them. Clearly Freyd was familiar with their movements more so than Wulfrin. Not a surprising fact since Wulfrin had only faced off with one of them and it went down before it got to do anything. Unfamiliar tentacles wrapped around the knight holding it in place similar to how Persi used to do. If this was a new familiar for Freyd, Wulfrin desperately wanted to keep this one alive. Wulfrin's blade erupted in a controversial torrent of ice and fire as he charged forward. Following in his wake, a crimson phoenix with golden plumage so -

The man gestured for her to take a look around and at that Mari took a step back. Fully taking in the scene around her. Blue eyes widened in a brilliant curiosity. “H-How…” She breathed. Mari had felt proud at her makeshift centrifuge back on the 10th floor… but this… This… “Amazing…” Completely crushed it into fine dust. The walls were filled with racks, filled with vials. Puffs of steam hissed every which way - tiny gears, shifts, cranks churned. Something like this…is what Aincrad so sorely missed, and so sorely was needed but - but… Her eyes shifted back to the Plague D

’It’s gone.’ The words were a mere whisper from Aoi as she glanced around and made sure no other creatures were appearing from the dark. Seconds passed before she was certain they were - relatively – safe in the moment. Turning back to the young child, Aoi knelt down and gently placed a hand upon their figure. Unsurprisingly the touch caused the child to flinch backwards. ’That’s just me. Come now, let’s get you home shall we?’ The path back out of the tunnels was longer than Aoi expected. Either she had truly become lost, and they wandered aimlessly for a while until they were out, or sh

The whole affair was beginning to feel a tad formulaic, mostly because he'd long since cracked the code on how to shatter the Knight's defenses, quite literally. An initial surge would see the giants falter, Reliq's unique talents providing an effective internal counter as he wrought destruction on their innards. Freyd just needed to provide the little mimic with access. Mayhem would follow. Maybe it was his familiar's natural talents for infiltrating and possessing objects that protected him but he seemed completely immune to the Knight's corruptive abilities. Maybe he's just too zan -

The man continued to scream for a few good seconds before he'd run out of breath, then would end up in a stupor of whimpers and mumbles having spent what he had left in the tank. The good doctor leans and plucks up a clip board and begins to scratch away, lifting an eyelid to inspect his pupil and checking the subjects left wrist with his index and ring finger pressed flat against it. A glance to a clock that ticked away at the wall, he'd note down the time and tap an IV filled with a green fluid attached to the subjects vein. “HEY!” *Thung, Thung* Th abrupt banging rung through
