Letting out a displeased expression towards his subordinate's attacks, the bull reached again for the silver whistle around his neck and blew hard as he could. In mere moments another three of his trusty royal guards answered his summon and eyed the players, understanding the situation from on the spot. They had one purpose, to defeat all that stood in front of their god. Meanwhile Asterios turned towards the last group that launched a assault against him. They managed to hit him, he could at least give them that and after releasing the whistle, he slowly clapped towards the two damage dealers: "Very good, I haven't had a tickle like that since I was a young bull. Allow me to repay you in kind!" He reached for his weapon and after twirling it a few times above his head at high velocity, he slammed it against the ground. A shockwave rippled with his as the center and reached all the group one players.

Asterios mused as he returned to the next group. The one that tried to protect other from damage was now so battered that he couldn't stand. He mused over this a second before turning upon the new target that stood in between he and the group. He snorted and charged forward with his warhammer, taking a few swings at the man. He made several blows, but all of them glanced off the man's shield to now effect. In rage, Asterios backed away and pointed at the man. "Men. Take care of this man. I have other things to attend to" He stormed away from the group and too the next group which had recovered since he had last attacked. He glanced back over at his guard, and found they had no effect on the man either. What had caused the man to be as skill with evading with a shield he did not know. He waited for the next group to make their move gainst hi. He was bring them back to their knees no doubt.

Asterios would stand there smugly as he waited for the next group to dare test him. This group contained quite a few of the new arrivals.In fact, all the new arrivals. Many of these players were still quite fresh, so he expected a fight from them. They came powerful, and actually did pretty well, taking about half of his third health bar down. He grumbled and raised his warhammer. He was getting tired of getting poked by these little players. One dared to howl at him fiercely. He stepped forward, stomped his hoof into the ground and spun his warhammer in a circular motion, slamming it into each of the players and sending each of them sprawling into the ground. He stood proudly in front of each of them and he spoke harshly. "Stand down, puny mortals. You all are foolish to dare try and test me. You are all nothing" He told them. He stepped away and faced the next group, snorting in laughter. They offered nothing to the battle. For good measures, he raised a golden horn and blew into it. The bull king would stand there as the players got a little more situated. One of them could hardly move after being rendered immobile for so long. Two players began to heal the team back up, actually doing a fair amount. It even brought the heavy armored blond's HP back to full. He snorted and watched as the two remaining charged, the blond attacking. The attack was fierce, but nothing when compared to his defenses. Sir Loin was getting rather cocky over here. He was just about to address it when another assualt came through. This one even forced him to take a step back, giving a little ground to the mortals. He snorted and commanded the Field Commander to help him deal with this. The king sighed and returned his attention tot he players that attacked him. "Down with you" His war hammer slammed into each of them, bringing their HP down further.

The golden furred Bull-king stood, awaiting his prey. The first to gain the courage... or stupidity... to charge him was the dark-haired boy form before. This was the one that had led the assault upon Baran. The next few began to swarm him, striking with a new confidence. He stood smugly. They thought that with these few other players, that they would become strong enough to do anything. Then, one shouted at him. He mused over the insult for a second before letting out a strange bellowing noise. A laugh. He thought over the insulter for a moment, but decided to take his attention on something a little more important. He raised his hammer and then charged straight at the gruff red-haired man. He slammed his horns into the man and sent him flying, his horns ripping through the man's body. He was satisfied with his attack and he turned to the palyers that had just attacked. "Your newcomers are nothing. You are all doomed" He still had yet to lose a fourth of his health. What were these players hoping to accomplish against him?

Asterios stood with his axe ready. Many players seemed to be joining the fight. It excited him a bit as more players had come to their deaths. This players were actually worthy to fight him. The pitiful had heeded his warning and left, leaving just he and those who made the battle a little more than boring. "Alright then. Times up, mortals" He stomped his hoof in the ground before facing his next targets. The gruff red player looked as if he would be fun to toss around. Perhaps someone else might grab his attention. Those foolish enough to reain and fight were either brave, or stupid. Either way, they were an obstacle for him taking reign over this region. For that they had to die. He would give out a bellowing roar and face his opponents snarling. He had been far too kind already. This was war, and it required for him to destroy everything. Curse his proud personality.

OOC: MUST READ!
SpoilerThis event has been going on for longer than anticipated and, there have been greater struggles than I had expected in dealing with Asterios. With that in mind, the following changes are being announced.
1. All Players in Groups 1, 3, and 4 have 72 Hours from the time of this post to use a “Withdraw”. Withdraw will all players from those groups to escape to a safe distance for the remainder of the fight with Asterios and the remaining Field Commander without sacrificing any of the rewards they have already received. To Withdraw simply post an OOC in your post during the 72 hour window, as Tomas has below, and then remove your name from the battle order. I should have spelled it out, more clearly, that this was an option for low level players once their boss was defeated. There are a few things to be aware of concerning this:
A. Once a player has withdrawn from Combat they may NOT re-engage the boss. Sorry, but you’re not allowed to wait until Asterios is down to 50-100 HP and then re-engage to swarm him like a bunch of piranhas for the Last Hit Bonus.
B. By withdrawing from Combat a player is safe from the Boss and Minions, a withdrawn player will NOT be attacked by Asterios or any minion drops.
C. Withdrawn players may NOT offer any support to the players still fighting the boss. You can’t lob in healing items, attempts at First Aid, or anything like that.
D. Any player in Groups 1, 3, or 4 that has drawn Hate on Asterios may NOT make use of a withdraw. However, they may use this 72 Hour window to attempt to remove themselves from the fight using the standard escape rules found in the Rules Section of the Forum.
E. Players in Groups 2 and 5 are ineligible to withdraw during this 72 Hour window, though they may attempt to withdraw during their next combat turn, again using the standard rules for running away.
F. Any player in Groups 1, 3, and 4 that does NOT post a Withdraw Action will be assumed to be remaining in combat. As such, they will be shuffled into the current groups and continue combat.
2. Heathcliff will, officially, be joining Group 2 as their Main Tank. Shield, conversely, you will be placed in Group 5.
3. Any player Level 40+ may enter the event as a “Reinforcement” during the 72 Hour window. Reinforcements MUST post their stats when they enter the thread and they are eligible to use only one Consumable Buffing Item (Banner, Potion, Food, etc.). The limitation on consumable use is due to being a late arrival and, IC, not having the time to fully use all buffing items. Reinforcements are eligible for only partial thread rewards, and Reinforcements are completely ineligible for the Last Hit Rewards. From a story perspective the “Reinforcements” will be considered to be late arrivals due to a slow response to the event invitation. Depending on the number of Reinforcements they will either form their own separate group or be absorbed into the two current groups.
4. Players in Groups 2 and 5 are NOT permitted to use HEALING items or First Aid, and Battle Healing will not proc, during the 72 Hour Withdraw/Reinforce window. The use of any attempt at healing will Proc a Single Target Attack from Asterios and the Field Commander against the offending player(s).
5. This period of Withdraw and Reinforcement will be sufficient to remove any Paralysis Effects. So, when Combat resumes they will be free to act normally, though they can take NO ACTION during the Withdraw Period. Combat will resume with Group 5 taking their Combat turn against Asterios.
6. Any players that heal during this Withdraw time period will proc a Single Target attack, aimed at themselves, from Asterios.
Asterios, the golden furred King of the Minotaurs, watched with a haughty expression on his bovine face as the players scrambled about in the chaos of battle. Truthfully, they resembled nothing so much as a collection of chickens that had suffered the misfortune of having their heads removed from the rest of their bodies. “Pathetic,” the minotaur rumbled, snorting through his nose.
“Commander, I require a speaking platform,” the King snorted, directing the Field Commander in the direction of the paralyzed players. Dutifully, the Field Commander approached the players that had been paralyzed and arranged them one on top of another in a haphazard pile of bodies. When he was satisfied with the terror that such a speaking platform would inspire, Asterios strode towards the pile of paralyzed players and, standing atop them like a conquering hero of myth, he began to speak.
“Surely, by now, you savages understand that your best efforts shall count for naught. True, you did kill my Lieutenants, but I shall avenge them many times over,” Asterios rumbled in a deep, carrying tone that echoed around the small clearing. “Still, I am not without a sense of honor. Those among you who are too sad, too pathetic, and too weak to hope to challenge my grandeur will be permitted to leave. There is no honor in slaughtering calves. The rest of you sad little mortals, little knowing you challenged a god, will have to face the consequences, but I shall allow you to reorganize yourselves more properly, however if you attempt to heal yourselves in any way during this time of withdraw I shall be greatly displeased. Of course…”
The minotaur trailed off as he hopped lightly down from the podium of paralyzed players. Sheathing his weapon, he grabbed Shield and Ariel by the front of their armor, one in each hand and lifted them up to eye level. “If you wish to repent of your stupidity in attacking me, you will find I am most unmerciful,” he said, drawing his arm back and flinging the erstwhile tank in the direction of Mack, Macradon, and Beatbox.
“Though, foolish girl,” he continued, placing his muzzle almost directly against Ariel’s nose, “If you wish to beg for your miserable and pathetic life then you may feel free to grovel at my feet and amuse me, perhaps I will spare you and allow you to serve me that you might properly learn from the hooves of a very god himself what it means to be a warrior.”
With that, he dropped Ariel with a dull clanging thud to land in a heap upon the pile of players that had, so recently, been gifted with the opportunity to serve the Minotaur King’s purposes and to lay at his hooves as he shared some of his bovine wisdom with them.

Asterios stood proudly and listened to the mortals speak. Some yelled for retreat, while others seemed confused and not do anything. He mued over this a second and then poke proudly. "Yes indeed. Retreating would be the best thing for all of you, if you don't wish to become like them" He pointed his axe in the direction of the players that had been reduced to health's that would have them dead in no time. A few players tried to health those such players, but they had no luck. They were weaker than the one's that were about to meet their own demise. 'Perhaps I should just show them exactly what I mean' the bull king thought. He looked over and seen a flash of light from a player recovering from his own paralysis. He looked at such player maliciously and began to stamp its hoof into the ground, flattening the ground underneaht his hoof. He charged, attacking his target without his axe. He stoopped by the recovering playerand snatched him up by the throat.
He held his prize in the air, showing him to everyone. "FLEE NOW, OR EVERYONE SHALL MEET THEIR DEMISE!" He could pursue the fleeing players after he was done with the few that had enough courage or stupidity to stand firm. He would charge the towns with his army and overrun the little "Safe Zones" the players and NPC's had made for themselves. He grinned at his target before slamming him, by his throat, into the ground. Sending up a cloud of dust. From there, he slammed him down further with his hoof for good measure. "Stupid Mortals" He muttered to himself.

AS STAFF OVERLOOKED THE AoE PARALYZE, IT WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO BE USED BACK-TO-BACK AFTER GROUP ONE NEXT ROTATION!Asterios calmly looked around, searching for any challengers. Had he scared them out of their wits at his slight display of power? "Yes. I like this much more" he muttered to himself. He raised his axe high into the air and said, "YES MORTALS! ALLOW ME TO SHOW YOU MY POWER, ONCE MORE!" Humans were entertaining to keep around. Perhaps he would keep one or two alive as a prisoner. He looked over to the group who had just writhed on the ground and were now just recovering from his most previous attack. He lowered his axe down in front of the tank as he kneeled. He liked that. Kneeling as if he respected him. He stepped into the middle of the four once more, and then spun quickly on his hoof, slamming his axe into each of them. a shock was sent out as more paralysis was to come. He let out a bellowing laugh and watched as they fell to the ground once again.
He began to stroll over to the sole group that originally attacked Baran, his former General. He snorted and readied his axe, preparing to pound into this new group of players that had come waltzing into his evening stroll.

Asterios stood strong as he watched the players. None advanced upon him, so perhaps he instilled some fear intot heir hearts. He stood there smugly, a bit proud of himself for his massive strength and size. The lower levels were now gathering together, speaking amongst themselves. He was certain they would be great morsels for his trainees. The group that he had single-handedly battered to pieces still lay there, mot likely scared out of their wits. This left only to groups even to think to try anything. Which would mean they were the bravest... or the stupidest. He needed some like that in his army. Ones that would obey his every command.... Like Nato or Baran. He eyed the darker haired player that had led the assault on Nato. He would personally keep that one on a chain as he destroyed his friends, and then he would personally destroy him. A little token of his gratitude for the work he had done. "I have to find a new general and colonel now" he thought. That would be quite a boring, but important part of his time.

Asterios watched as the few mortals began to gather around himself. He let out a bellowing laugh and readied his warhammer, but then watched in confusion as they turned direction, moving towards the lesser Minotaurs. The king of the bulls raged, his attention watching the darker-haired one that had commanded them to attack his brethren. He watched with fury, as the group that was supposed to fight him, finished off Baran, his general, and one of the trainees. He shook his head and stepped forward, bellowing his rage. The ferocity of his voice shattered through the cheers over the loss of his general, and the clash of weapons. For a moment, there was silence, and Asterios spoke his mind.
"FOOLISH MORTALS! YOU HAVE COME TOO FAR, KILLING MY GENERAL AND COLONEL!" His bellows were a match to the howl skill's rage and volume. "SURRENDER YOURSELVES! AND PERHAPS I WON'T ERADICATE YOU WITH MY DIVINE WRATH!" He slammed his warhammer into the ground with a force that would sent a jolt through every player's legs, but not hard enough to damage them. He was proving his point. He was enraged, and would gladly slaughter all of them, but he was musing over the idea of slowly torturing them, along with using them for training session prey for the trainees. He stood ready though, for all that still dared defy his power.

The king of the Minotaurs stood proudly as he watched over the presiding battle. He watched as a few players stood in fear, trembling too much from the king, to be able to possibly move their legs. He was not exactly happy with the death of his colonel, but he must move on with the battle. He forward, glaring at every player that his eyes met. Baran stood tall and strong, doing quite well for himself. He on the other hand, was obliterating all that stood in his way. The entire group that had the nerve to mess with him last, Sir Loin and his fellows, had been dispatched temporarily from the battlefield, as his skills paralyzed each of them. "Now to focus on the weakest of the puny beings" He looked over at the trainees and even the Field commander that still were spazzing uncontrollably. The God of the Minotaur's let out a heavy sigh, lifting his axe up and tapping it back to the ground, a bit dissapointed with the abilities of his subjects.
This is the force that was supposed to protect him if need be? He had no need for the help, but it was nice if his subjects would dispatch enemies as they should. He watched with a careful eye of the few players started taking turns attacking his trainee. He grumbled angrily. "Get up you fools, and prepare yourself. The final battle still lies ahead" The stopped twitching and slowly began to recover from the status that had affected them. That was more appropriate. He heard approaching to his left and he turned to face the oncoming attackers. He would teach them, just as he did the others. These one's would be brutally demolished upon the battlefield, and he would have the weaker ones become prey for his trainees to hunt and kill.

Asterios, the all mighty ruler of the minotaurs, rolled his head to one side as each of the players in the group that had initially attacked him declined to continue their assault. No doubt, the puny humans had been cowed into submission by merely being placed in the present of so august a personage as the emperor of the minotaurs.
Who could blame them?
As a specimen, Asterios was quite beefy. Two of the players, Hikoru and Ariel, were so terrified of the King that they merely stood and quaked in their very boots at the sight of him, a proper response when confronted with the majesty of a ruler. As Morgenstern howled his defiance at Asterios the minotaur stalked in the direction of the tank. "I believe I shall call you Sir Loin," the King thundered, whipping his weapon around his body and slamming the business end of it into Morgenstern's face with enough force to snap the tank's head around to one side. "Really, this group is utterly disappointing to me," the King continued, spinning on the spot and blasting Ariel, Hikoru, and Zandra in turn as the Field Commander and Trainee both bull rushed in to aid their monarch, slamming into Morgenstern and promptly keeling over to twitch spasmodically as they were paralyzed.
"My soldiers are not exactly outstanding in their fields," Asterios muttered to himself, turning to watch the continuing combat now that the group of players had been thoroughly dealt with.

Asterios watched, with evident pleasure as two of the highest leveled players that had yet to attack launched their assaults. One of them, a giant by the standards of the players though somewhat pathetic compared to the godly form of the minotaurs, chose to forego his attack completely and, instead, to offer assistance to one of the smaller little worms who had nearly been killed by Colonel Nato. The blonde that followed him also chose to try and attack Colonel Nato, obviously the swordsman was terrified of the glory and majesty of the golden furred Minotaur.
Finally, Itzal had the courage and fortitude to attack Asterios. The King of the minotaurs didn't even choose to deign Itzal's attack as being worthy of a response. When, at last, the players had concluded their woefully inadequate assault Asterios locked his gaze onto the red-headed man in the cloak. Pawing the ground several times, the King of the Minotaurs bellowed a challenge and then charged towards Mack. A powerful hand shot out and wrapped itself around the ginger man's throat. With effortless ease, Asterios lifted the axe man off the ground and held him aloft for a moment for all to see before slamming him to the ground and delivering a few sharp stomps to the player's midsection.

OOC: Circumstances being what they are, I will be posting for all three Bosses for this attack. As Group 2 has drawn hate from all 3 Bosses, all 3 Bosses attack them.
Asterios, the golden furred minotaur king, crossed his arms over his chest as he watched, rather imperiously, the combat that was taking place. Nato, the faithful leader of the Royal Guard had acted in the first place, to summon a couple of trainees from the mighty Bull Army. As soldiers went the two trainees left a little to be desired, they were hardly front line troops. Still, they would suffice for the time being. Then Nato attacked and managed to actually remove one of the impudent little attackers. Who were these players, anyway, to think that they could stop the entire Minotaur nation?
As Nato finished his attack another group of players, four this time, launched into motion. The sheer audacity of them, many of them launching attacks at the high king himself, was simply beyond describing. In particular, a little blonde woman who would very shortly be learning to respect those who were far greater than she could ever hope to be herself. Shrugging off the rest of the attacks that had been launched, as well as some of the effects of the poison that the shadowed ninja had inflicted with his backstabbing attack, Asterios began the counter-attack.
Without a word to the lesser Minotaurs, Asterios merely directed a finger in the direction of Morgenstern. The trainees, well, at least they tried but they would have had better luck had they attempted to move an entire mountain by themselves, for all the damage they did to Morgenstern with attacks that never found their mark. Next, Asterios pointed Nato in the direction of Morgenstern as well. Dutifully, the suited commander of the Royal Guard went into battle and, apparently taking his cue from the trainees, he also missed Morgenstern.
Asterios sighed and gave General Baran, the Army's commander a look. The enormous black furred bull man slung a trident down off of his shoulder and charged directly at Hikoru before the little ninja man could disappear back into the shadows. With a wide sweep of the weapon's business end, Baran knocked Hikoru off his feet before impaling the ninja into the ground and paralyzing him so they could keep an eye on him. As he stood over the paralyzed foe, Baran drew a slender whistle on a chain around his neck and blew it once. A thundering sound echoed for a moment and, within a few seconds, the noise resolved itself into the form of one of the Minotaur Army's field commanders, standing ready to do battle.
"Now pay attention, lesser beings, as a god among minotaurs walks among you," Asterios rumbled. Reaching down, the golden hands wrapped themselves lovingly around the haft of a warhammer that was, in honesty, larger than many of the players that had assembled to fight them. With an enraged bellow, the King of the Minotaurs charged down on the blonde woman, Ariel. Eschewing the warhammer in his hands, he slammed the horns on his head into Ariel's chest and launched the slender woman an easy fifty feet in the air before she slammed to the ground and rolled over several times, failing to rise to her feet once again.

Showing a smug face after paralyzing almost the entirety of the last group, the bullman turned towards the next group foolish creatures that dared to defy him. His eyes set on the blue man that had been getting the majority of his attention and as he saw him switching to a more offensive move, Asterios simply moved out of his striking range mere moments before he could land a fight.
"It will take more than..." he started gloating until he spotted the apparently unarmed guy going towards him. He tried to grab him as he got in close range but the target dodged his hand in return punched him in the face. However, all that wasted movement reduced the impact damage. The bull showed a grin and spit to the side asking the retreating man with a taunting tone: "That all you got boy?"
In that moment, he felt a sharp pain in his right leg. His eyes immediately caught sight of the blue clad samurai that was next to him, cleaving against his calve. With all these frighten monkeys retreating, it seems that there were still some that wanted to put up a fight alongside the now stunned group that had been subjected to the bovine god's wrath. "Haven't seem you around... You seem pretty optimistic. I should do something about that." he muttered, preparing to launch his counterattack. He picks up his massive weapon and swirls it around, hitting almost all the ones that tried to attack him, his AoE attack even clipping those that try to escape.
