Cosi

Cosi heard his name called, quickly got up from his seat next to the fire, and made his way over to the crowd of people. Apparently the NPC merchant had started the raffle and was handing out the prizes. And it looks like I got one. But which one? That prize turned out to be the shield, Frostbite or something. Too bad I got rid of my one handed skill and stuff. I probably won't use this shield. Cosi took the shield out of his inventory to admire it. I guess it will look nice in the shop or once I get a house, above the fireplace. Cosi returned the shield to his inventory and then moved to head home. I've bought my item and I won a raffle item. That's about as much as I can do. Though I guess I could wait to see if something else happens.

Cosi walked alone through the alleyways and streets of the Town of Beginnings. He was heading to one place in particular: The Painter's Stones was Domarus' artisan shop. About time I paid Dom a visit. I need to thank him for the items. Cosi rubbed his hand over the diamond eye clasp on his cloak. Besides I may need another couple other items from him. At least one more to help with looting. Cosi turned a corner and found himself at his destination. The Painter's Stones was a nice looking shop, though not much to about it. Cosi walked quickly to the door, and turned the handle to go in. Cosi walked straight into the hardwood door. A purple sign popped open reading <Immortal Object> as it usually did whenever you walked into or hit something that couldn't be destroyed. Cosi rubbed his nose and stared at the door. Why's it locked? There's no sign that says he's closed... Cosi reached out and knocked loudly on the door. "Hey Dom! Keres! Anyone in there?"

Cosi followed Pinball into the cave, after equipping his war hammer Inbrunst, but he didn't stay close to the orange player. He slowed his pace till he was keeping pace with Kirbs, "So what Happened with pin? You seem to know at least something of how he got the orange cursor. Care to enlighten me, Please? I knew him before but he's changed and I haven't seen him in forever. I just want to know what happened to my friend." Cosi kept calling Pinball his friend even though he hardly knew the guy. Still I'm his friend whether he wants it or not. I won't leave someone to go through their trials alone. Even if they feel like its one hundred percent their fault. Cosi turned to Kirbs and waited for her answer, looking at her expectantly. Also I wonder what this quest is going to be. Pin has literally said nothing about it. I should probably check my quest log and see if it says anything about it.

I go do a dungeon with my friends Hazado and Neopolitan on the fifth floor. It was difficult but still tons of fun, also a good amount of loot. Thanks of course to Neo because she does tons of damage. Same with Haz. I really need to keep grinding and leveling so I can catch up to them as well as Mars

Cosi was on the fifth floor clutching the dungeon map in his hand. Time to go dungeon delving though I'll need some help. Especially some dps help. "better message Neo and Haz." Cosi said to himself and he brought up his menu and began drafting the messages.

Cosi nodded at @Sunova's remarks, "That's good. Hestia is a good person. I don't know much about Baldur but I expect if he helped encourage you he's a good person..." Cosi trailed off. He really didn't know what to say. How did you ask about someone's mortality and death. So he simply continued to nod and then he chuckled when the white haired girl mentioned meeting anywhere but this floor. "Sounds like a plan." He gave her a lopsided grin and then did just as she requested. He headed over to @Hazado and Neo. Cosi patted Haz on his back again but stayed a second longer to actually talk with his fellow tank this time, "How are you doing? I noticed you took quite a beating in that fight. Could have used my help couldn't you?" Cosi elbowed haz lightly in the ribs chuckling slightly. The blonde haired tank also gave @Neopolitan a smile and a wave. "How are you Neo? I saw you did well in that event." Cosi pointed to her new rapier.

Cosi watched as a second dark cloaked person joined the first- who was in fact Pinball- and a scuffle broke out as the second kneed Pin and threw him off the roof. Cosi jumped up but before he could do anything Pin was being hauled off by the hooded player after they had called for Hestia. Why Hestia? and goodness what just happened? Cosi was left standing and awkwardly staring so he quickly sat back down. Then someone came an sat down next to him which made him nearly jump out of his skin. Then he saw it was @Katagawa, "Oh hi Kat. and yeah it has been a good while. Anyways have you been enjoying the Christmas celebration? There's a lot of rare stuff. Also Merry Christmas." As he waited for Kat's response Cosi's mind wandered back to what had just happened: So Pin's be arrested. I still don't know the full story of how he's an orange player. He's being taken to Hestia. Is she Aincrad's police force or something? Then Cosi came to a conclusion: F*ck. I bet that second player ( @Itzal)saw me or overheard me talking to @Pinball and then he went to go catch him. I just got pin caught. So much for being his friend...

Cosi sat by the crackly fire, warm cocoa in his hands, his snake curled around his neck, and simply watched as players and NPCs walking by talking and laughing. Cosi sighed and looked down into his mug. It was at that moment that his draconian ring lit up with a faint emerald glow. Cosi quickly looked around knowing that flash could only mean one thing: something near was hidden. And since he was in a safe zone it was almost certainly a player. Cosi scanned the nearby rooftops and spotted a person clad in black and wearing a mask. Cosi didn't know what the player was doing up there but he decided to give him the benefit of the doubt, "Hey Mate! yeah you on they roof!" Cosi shouted just loud enough for the hidden player to hear,  "I can tell you that the view is better down here so why down you come have a seat? I promise you I won't say anything or tell anyone you're here. Heck you can sit in the shadows over there." Cosi pointed to the shadow cast by the nearby building. "Up to you mate." Then Cosi spotted another player although this one wasn't trying so hard to hide, "hey @Katagawa! Over here!" Cosi waved to the girl, motioning for her to come over.

And in a flash Cosi was left alone, @Shield left with a girl, @Hikoru was practically dragged away by one, and @Baldur, someone Cosi hardly knew, become enamored with a female of his own though it seemed like the samurai was more interested in her like a fan was interested in a celebrity. Cosi grinned and waved goodbye to the three front liners, even giving Hikoru a wink. He'd have to spend some more time with them later. Still the blonde haired tank was left alone with his pet snake, "Everyone's got a girl Ladon except us." Cosi said to his serpent, scratching his scaled head, "let's go find something to eat- actually some hot cocoa sounds nice- and a nice fire to sit by." And with that Cosi went off to find the desires objects. The hot chocolate was easy to find- vendors were practically throwing the stuff at passerby's and Cosi ended up with a couple festive cookies as well. The fire was harder to find since Cosi felt like begin alone for a change. There would be plenty of time for engaging with friends and strangers but right now he needed a spell to be alone. Cosi managed to find a campfire surrounded by empty chairs a little ways away from all the hustle and bustle.

Cosi gave @Hikoru a salute and his signature lopsided grin, "No worries mate. I practically live here so I wouldn't not invite others. Hmmm double negatives are weird." Cosi shrugged and turned back to Shield. The two of them made their way to Benny's tent and the items that lay inside. Cosi looked in awe at the offered equipment and gear. Shield on the other hand gave scoured them with his appraising gaze. Shield signed up for the raffle so Cosi followed suit, "Put my name in too @Benny. It's Cosi. And I'd love to get the backpack put I'm short a couple thousand Col. I'll like the look of the keys though. Those could make my grinding trips a little more worthwhile and maybe we can come to an agreement if I let you use one or two. Also, while a demonic would be nice, my build is fine where its at right now." Cosi forked over the Col for the ring of keys and thanked the massive NPC merchant. Cosi pocketed the ring of silvery keys. Cosi moved to leave the tent but still he stuck close to Shield, "And I get you: just cause you're a little more dour then others during the festive season doesn't mean you hate Christmas and joy itself." Cosi chuckled and looked around catching sight of @Hazado with Neo and gave the couple a cheerful wave. "Are you at least here with someone or waiting for friends, @Shield?"

Finally more stuff to identify! Cosi sat down at his work bench, set down his cup of hot cocoa, pulled out his bristle brush, and began to work. he fist worked on the piece of armor he had found when grinding for loot in the Glacial Cove. It turned out to be an interesting piece of equipment: savvy and recovery. Could be useful for energy recovery. After that piece he ranked up so he went and retrieved the two tier three weapons he had gotten when questing with Shield. One massive ax turned out to have two slots of taunt and a slot of damage. Not a bad weapon if he really needed to draw attention. The other ax had bleed and keen, perfect for leaving lasting wounds. After that Cosi pulled out a potion he had also found during his grinding session and identified that. It turned out to be a prosperity potion which would actually help out to get more loot during his next grinding session. Thought that wouldn't be for a good amount of time. After that Cosi set his tools aside, picked up his mug of hot coca, and headed back to the fireplace. He was out of identifications for the day anyways.

Katagawa missed the wasp queen, so Cosi Cosi quickly covered for her, charging straight at the mob. once within range he wound up his war hammer and swung the massive thing at the bee. His first strike hit but the blonde player didn't stop there. Cosi lay into the queen bee swinging Inbrunst in powerful sweeping strokes. He connected twice more and watched as the wasp queen's health dropped down to practically nothing. Cosi grinned and looked over to Kat. "You're up. Finish it." But as he looked towards his companion the massive insect flew towards him and stuck with its stinger. Cosi tried to side step the attack but he was just a tad too slow. The stinger managed to slip past Ladon's scales and struck Cosi's exposed flesh. The blonde tank jumped out of reach and checked his health. "Only a scratch is that the best you can do?" Cosi shouted at the bee, keeping its attention on him so Kat could get the killing blow.

Cosi continued to walk around Snowfrost. It seems like his messages and just the general flow of information had done the trick; a good chuck of players had shown up. Most of them he didn't know then he spotted Shield. Shield didn't look too happy to be here even if he was sporting a festive hat. Hestia came by to say Merry Christmas and Cosi would respond in turn giving the front line tank a lopsided grin, "I think it is, so Merry Christmas @Hestia." Cosi spotted Neo, waved to her with a cheerful grin, and then began to make his way over to @Shield. "You don't look too happy to be here my friend." Cosi gave the front liner a nudge with his elbow. "Don't like Christmas even though its the most magical time of the year?" Cosi grinned but quickly dropped the facade. It just didn't feel right celebrating Christmas without his family or friends. Well I mean I've got friends here but its just not the same. Cosi audibly sighed, "I think I understand Shield." Cosi sat down on the nearest bench, laced his hands behind his hand, and looked up into the sky. "Christmas isn't the same without family, without friends. Christmas is not the same as it is in the real world."

Cosi headed outside, wearing a button up shirt, suspenders, simple breeches, and boots with his scarf and snake wrapped around his neck, and headed for Snowfrost. Lately the town had been all a bustle with NPCs. Cosi wanted to see what they had all been working on. Snow fell- it always did- but the blonde haired player didn't care and as he got closer to the town he saw that it was now ablaze with light, sound and color. "Looks like its Christmas time Ladon" Cosi said to his familiar, then he rubbed his eye. Another Christmas away from family. Not that I could go home if I even wanted to. Cosi sniffed, rubbed his nose and strode inside the town. His first sight, other then the massive Christmas tree, was a giant of a man, wearing nothing but pants and boots, his chest covered in blue tattoos, and a glorious mustache on his upper lip. The man's voice boomed directed workers and NPCs to add finishing touches. Then the man caught sight of Cosi. The mountain of a man stared at the tank darkly and then welcomed the player with open arms, gesturing for the player to come closer. Cosi followed the direction and walked towards the massive man. I wonder if any other players are here? I bet @Ennakai is. They live close to here. I should message people. And so Cosi did sending messages off to @Neopolitan, @Hazado, @Dustin, @Mars, @Shield, @Katagawa, @Hikoru, and @Hestia about the celebration happening on floor four.

Cosi's gaze softened and he chuckled, "And we wouldn't want that would we." Cosi grinned lopsidedly and gave Shield fist bump, "Also thanks for all the help. Its.. well its helped tremendously. I'll probably be calling you up soon. I need to do a little more grinding." And with that Cosi would leave his mentor and begin to wander through the crowd of players. He would see familiar faces, stopping to thank Black for helping in squad two, giving @Hazado a warm smile and pat on the back. Then he found his way to @Neopolitan and @Sunova. The two were talking with Miraak. Cosi waited for them to finish, giving a cheerful smile and wave to Neo, before pulling the white haired girl aside. He didn't know her much at all. He knew she was friends with Haz and Neo and they were good friends of his but he had only talked to her in passing. Still he wanted to make sure she was fine. Dying- especially getting killed by a demon- and then getting brought back had to be hard. "Uh.. Hi. I'm Cosi. We've met before at least once. Um... I just wanted to know if you were alright- I mean I know you're alright but... Well, Dying and coming back can't have been fun..." 

Cosi started slightly when @Shield said that the event boss had dropped two of the front liners tanks but he quickly composed himself. He said 'some of the strongest'. That could only mean him and Hestia but because he didn't say me he must mean another tank. "I haven't met Beat before but you talk about him a fair amount. What's he like?" As Cosi waited for Shield's response he continued, "Sounds like a good plan." Then Shield continued talking, talking about the front liners fight, and after he asked how morale was in the tier one and two fight. Cosi had to think about it for a second. "It was good. I mean the tier one people like myself couldn't really deal much damage to the boss but the Tier two's like Neo and Mars made up for that. Morale was good up until a point about halfway through the fight. Miraak unleashed a devastating attack that hit everyone, dropping a whole bunch of people into the red and yellow. After that point people were shaken. We had to heal up and regroup and that's when the first player.. died." Cosi absentmindedly pointed to where @Sunova was, "After that point everything went to pieces: Dom wasn't leading and couldn't get everyone ordered, people started teleporting out, and some people started to practically suicide rush the boss." Cosi sighed and his eyes flicked over to @Dustin, "Then another player died and it just got worse. We weren't able to keep our spirits high... still we managed to pull through." Cosi finally looked around and caught sight of Miraak. He started again but really he should have expected it. Priests talking about God and forgiveness. Even Miraak was talking about sin. I should've guessed he would be brought back by a 'benevolent god'. Cosi sighed and turned back to Shield, though he was silent. There was no chipper attitude from him now. He had fought and done next to nothing in the fight. And had this been a real fight two people would have died, One that he knew. Cosi stared off into the distance, Cosi's normally bright turquoise eyes now bleak and determined, "I've still got a long way to go and a lot more experience to gain. I've got to become stronger if I really want to make a difference

After his mulling over what he was going to say for his speech Cosi rose form his spot on the beach just to see Hazado heading towards him. Cosi gave the man a grin and a half salute, "Sorry I'm on way. Just had to think about some things." And with that Cosi made his way over to main venue and took his spot. Now the only thing left to do was to wait for the wedding to start. All the pomp and circumstance that was annoying in the real world recreated in a video game. This is going to be very, very interesting. Still I'm glad Haz and Neo are happy. They make a nice couple. Even with his mixed feelings on the wedding Cosi couldn't help but smile. Cosi shrugged to himself. I don't really care much anymore. They can get married and I'll be the best man. But I'm definitely not going to get married in this death game.

Cosi shrugged at Enna's remarks, "i really don't know." That was true. Cosi really didn't know either Dustin or Ennakai or how they acted. I guess I'm really just here to fish for materials. Enna then asked about Cosi's merchant shop which caused the blonde haired tank to chuckle. "Well I've opened my shop up but still no customers which makes sense since Shield has maxed out his ranks and practically has a monopoly on the market. So yeah It's open but not really moving and you could definitely bring the gear we've got from here and I'll identify it for you. Free of charge cause we're friends." Then Cosi's rod jumped in his hands and he quickly pulled back on it and reeled in his catch. It was a fairly big fish which got them three more materials. Cosi nodded and set them in the pile

After Miraak died and the angel came, all Cosi could do was slump to the ground. His adrenaline left him and everything that had happened in the fight hit him like a ten ton truck. People died in the fight. Sunova, Mina I didn't know but still they're still both dead. The front liners are... decimated. Then suddenly Cosi looked up with tired eyes and saw that everyone was either gone or moving out of the chapel. Apparently the field that had kept the players in had been dropped. Limply Cosi rose and followed. Once outside the church Cosi was greeted by a mass of people. Not only the tier ones and tier twos but the front liners as well. Most of everyone were fine. Some were in the yellow but they were regenerating slowly. Cosi began to look for familiar faces. He saw Hestia and Shield which in all honesty were the only two tier threes he knew. Cosi began to look around and he caught sight of people that he thought had died. Sunova and Mina as well as the front liners he had seen fall. It must have been an illusion or a... Cosi's stupor of thought was interrupted by someone approaching him. @Shield stood before the blonde haired player with his hand held out. Cosi took hold of the front line tank's hand and gripped it firmly. "Yes it did and it was... something." Cosi said. The aspiring tank continued to hold Shield's hand for a split second after Shield released his grip. Cosi then nodded at Shield's comment. "Personally I was fine but the boss was fast and it dealt plenty of damage. A couple people... well I thought they died but turns out they're fine." Cosi tilted his head to catch a glimpse of Sunova, "But what happened with you guys?"

The crab continued to hold tight to the player despite his tirade and attacks. Cosi squirmed but ended up just raising his massive war hammer once more and swingin ti towards the mob. With added power from gravity, Inbrunst crashed into the crustacean hard actually cracking the chitin. Cosi smiled at the splintering sound and then was unceremoniously dropped to the ground. The crab hissed and scuttled backwards, partly into the water. Cosi gave chase, "Oh no you don't! You attacked me first so don't think you're getting away that easily." Then to Mars, "I'll be fine buddy keep searching for treasure of something. Now crabby its time to die."  Cosi strode into the water which sloshed and foamed till it was around his knees. Cosi didn't care if he was in the crab's home turf know. It was going to die. There was no running for it. Hell I'll dive to the bottom of the lake to get you.

Cosi charged the boss. The blonde haired tank honestly did no damage but still he might as well attack and build up hate. Cosi then noticed that Vigilion had a lot of hate. Probably not the best thing to have when you're at half health. Cosi looked over to Vigilion trying to catch the other player's eyes as Cosi charged at the event boss. "Hey @Vigilon! Switch!" The blonde player shouted just as he hit Miraak. Like always it did minimal damage but this time just the force of the blow caused the demon to stumble back a couple feet. Cosi jumped back so that he wouldn't be in range of the boss's attacks- thought its fast enough that it might not matter- and waited to see if Vigilion would complete the switch. The boss was extremely close to being dead but still Cosi doubted that their group would be able to do anything about that. It would be up to the tier 2 players to finish the event boss off.

Cosi tugged on his white tie- apparently even in a virtual world tie’s suck- trying to straighten it and make it slightly more bearable. Thankfully the rest of his attire fell perfectly.  He strode into the wedding venue looking first for Haz, tugging on his black gloves. It was a nice place. Just a grassy hill overlooking the sea against a copse of trees. Simple but fitting for a wedding. Cosi spotted Haz standing by the entrance- somehow Cosi had come in a back way- with the priest and quickly made his way over to his fellow tank moving past tables and tents. 

Cosi tapped Haz on the shoulder, waited for his friend to turn around and then gave Haz a firm and exuberant hand shake. “I see we’re really going through with this,” Cosi gave his friend a playful smile which changed to a warm grin, “I’m happy for you two, Haz, I really am. Speaking of which where is Neo? You haven’t tried to sneak any glances of her have you?” Cosi elbowed Haz lightly in the ribs and grinned. The blonde player then gave Haz a light clap on his back and began to move off, “Anyways I’d love to chat but I’ve got a speech to plan. Thanks to you of course,” Cosi gave Haz another playful grin and then he walked off to find a place to collect his thoughts. 

Searching for that place Cosi found himself walking along the beach his menu opened to a mostly blank note page. Where to start? The thing is I hardly know either Haz or Neo especially outside of a questing sense. I could say I know more about Hazado’s build then I know about him. Cosi sighed, closed his menu, and plopped down on the grass right before in changed to sand. I know Neo is quiet and reserved but that she’s helpful, hard working, and fairly nice if you can look past her quiet exterior. Haz is warm, strong, and dependable. He’s steadfast. Cosi flopped down, laying on the grass, his hands over his eyes so he didn’t have to see the blank page staring accusingly back at him. This whole thing is crazy. I’m happy for both of them, I really am, but I just can’t understand that they’re willing to get married in this death game. It’s like they’re accepting the fact that this is their life now and that they won’t be getting out of SAO. God I hope that’s not true. I hope they aren’t fine with this being their life and I hope that we are really stuck in here. I can say I that I follow their sentiment but I’d rather get married in the real world where my family can be there too. Cosi then sat up quickly looked at the blank page. But this isn’t about me. It’s about Haz and Neo. Two people who among the death, hardship, and general insanity of this game have found love and who will have that love even if we don’t get out of here but if we do then they’ll have that love for so much more time. And getting them back to the real world alive and together is a job for the rest of us. Cosi smiles and begins to write.

Cosi pushed the golem in the chest just as it brought down its fist again trying to punch him in the face. The shove threw off the crystal golem's attack and forced the mob off of the player. Cosi quickly jumped to his feet and began to ready another sword art. "Alright now more lucky hits for me and no more misses for me. I'm done with you mate and I want to get out of here." Cosi clashed his glowing fists together and then rushed towards the crystal golem. "This fight is over." Cosi jabbed with his right, and then followed up with his left, and then another right. Cosi ddin't go for precision. He simply swung until he smashed through the mob's guard and connected a finishing blow. Cosi let out a breath, and grinned as the the crystal golem exploded into pixels of light. "Alright Ladon. Let's get out of here. I could use a warm cup of cocoa and I bet you would like to be close to a warm fire."

Cosi decided to press his advantage- he only needed one more hit on it anyways- and strode towards the reeling mob. Cosi readied another sword art and watched as his energy ticked down. His fists glowed a pale blue but before he could strike the dazed golem and finish it off it struck out with its leg. The crystal golem swept the blonde haired player's legs from under him and then it dropped down, bringing an elbow right down into Cosi's gut. Cosi felt the wind get knocked out of him and watched as his health bar ticked down a chunk. Cosi swung his fist but it was a weak attack and the golem easily deflected the attack with its arm. Cosi struggled for breath and struggled to get the mob from off of him. Neither was easy. "Another luck shot." Cosi finally managed to get enough breath to choke out the words.
