There had always been a solace in the piano room, an almost mystical feel to it for Nari. But as she sat down at the piano again, for another day of recording, she wondered what it was that always drew her back here - was it the memories, the emotions that she felt when she was playing? Was it the reminder of everything that had come and gone? Or was it the hope, of the future to be? -

"Alright...reorganised a bit...name change done...now just to...get some actual work done." Nothing was left beyond creating the actual songs - an effort that she had been putting off up until this point. Sighing, she settled in behind the piano to begin the real work of the day, knowing that she could avoid it no longer. -

"Oh, come on!" Nari whined as another group pushed her backwards from the teleporter, the leader sneering at her as they stepped up onto the platform, before calling out something less than pleasant. "Yeah, fuck you too. Asshole. I hope something bites you, hard." She turned to Onóra, about to complain to the blonde when her eyes caught movement - a flash of red and white as the small kitsune launched itself towards the man whom had just shoved Nari aside, slamming into him and latching its teeth into his leg. The man shrieked, shaking his leg a few times before managing to dislodge the k -

The throng of individuals pressing against Nari reminded her of the dislike she had for these main settlements - especially the ones that were overly packed with NPCs, players trying to make their way ahead in the game, and the numerous others who seemed to loiter about. It had started the moment they had come towards the peak-city on the floor, the giant bazaar unsurprisingly creating a perfect meshing point for individuals of all means. "Mio...don't go too far ahead. I would hate to lose sight of you." Nari whispered towards the kitsune, hoping that it would hear her above the noise of -

The further away from the temple they got, the more Nari relaxed - as if the burden of past tensions were being left behind as they climbed. She stopped once to glance back down, a feeling of apprehension hovering over her for the briefest of moments. Onóra stopped as well, stepping close and laying a hand on her arm, before speaking. "Take as long as you need..." Simple words, that gave no clarification, no answers or any sort of path forwards. Yet somehow, they seemed to calm whatever emotions had been boiling within Nari, letting her ease away from the anger and frustration. Quietly, s -

"Mio...I would say unique, but it seems somewhat common. I like it, though." Onóra's voice spoke from over her shoulder, the blonde clearly having leaned in to read the message without saying anything. Nari yelped in surprise, before Onóra continued talking - ignoring the fact that she'd scared Nari entirely. "Male kitsune...guess I was right on the kitsune part. So, Mio. Should we go back and introduce you to the house?" The kitsune seemed to jump at the idea, managing to wiggle free from Nari's embrace and taking a few steps ahead, before turning to see if they were following. Nari thre -

She was expecting Onóra to be the one who would react, who would try to comfort her. Instead, she found the kitsune at her feet, standing on its back paws and resting its forepaws on her for balance. The small creature looked up at her, a glint in its eyes that Nari could only describe as caring, as if it was upset that she was upset. You have them now...you can't be breaking down every time you think of Yuki. It's not fair, not fair to them... She knelt down, getting down on the kitsune's level so that it could stand properly. Four of the tails seemed to wave in excitement as she did so -

The gypsy woman was waiting for them, her arms crossed and a slight smile across her face. Somehow, that entire expression caused Nari more anger than when she'd first seen the woman. "I see the treats brought you success, I'm glad. I hope your new friend-" "Here's your treats. Piss off." She tossed the treats at the woman before turning and leaving the room, the small fox and Onóra tailing behind her. She could see the worried look of Onóra's face out of the corner of her eyes, but Nari refused to acknowledge it, at least for the moment. Onóra' seemed content not to bring anything up, a -

Pushing herself to her feet, knowing that the old words were right as much as she hated them, Nari smiled at her new companion, before nodding towards the temple. "We should go return these treats, and then think up a name for you...and maybe take you home and introduce you to...err...everyone, and everything. Oh, and I guess we'll need a bed for you...and maybe some treats...and...err...what do kitsune normally eat?" The final question was tossed towards Onóra, Nari realising suddenly that she had absolutely no idea what to feed the thing. She doubted it would complain about treats for e -

Nari shouldered the consideration for the moment, knowing that it wasn't worth trying until the new familiar was more comfortable with her - if it ever became that comfortable. Looking at it, though, she felt a similar connection to one she had once held with Yuki; a familiarity and bond that seemed to echo beyond time and the general world of Aincrad. As if it was right. Maybe...maybe she's in there, somewhere... She knew that the fox - kitsune - was just a piece of code, a strand of words and letters, just like Yuki had once been. It wasn't entirely impossible, or implausible, that a pa -
The underground lake was easy enough for them to stumble upon - literally falling across it as they found themselves quickly submerged. Although able to breath without issue or fault, Nari found the experience of being beneath the surface less than pleasant. Although she wanted to, she resisted the desire to call out to NIGHT - partially knowing that it likely wouldn't work, and partially afraid she'd somehow consume water and drown herself unwittingly. Instead, she watched as NIGHT began striking - as if in slow motion - at the pillars that seemed to surround them. Pillars...gods that's

Tiring, was the word that Nari would have used to describe the combat they were currently in. Although she was taking the majority of the hits, she could tell that they were getting slowly overwhelmed - one of the Red Cloaked creatures managing to slip by and land a strike against Koga. Without turning to look, she called out towards the black haired swordsman, the strain from the fight covering her words. "Sorry - one got by me. Shit there's a lot of them...um...but there don't seem to be any more appearing right now!" She tried to put a positive spin on it, hoping that the ambush was sl -

Nari leaned back against a rock, smiling as she thought about all the different foods that were available. The selection that she went through daily was...limited, but only through necessity and not by choice - it was expensive to eat well everyday, and when you were looking at upkeeping gear and fighting constantly, well... "That's easy. A nice, well done cordon bleu, preferably with a side of oven-roasted fries, and a cayenne-dip mixture...not that those are easy to find in Aincrad. But..." She fell silent. She was about to mention how good it would be once they made it out, before real -

"Well, you two seem to be getting along well..." Onóra's voice whispered from behind her ear, the breath leaving a faint heat behind that caused Nari to shiver. The fox-like creature at her side glanced upwards in reaction to the words, tittering ever so slightly in response. Careful not to disturb it too much, Nari reached into the bag and provided the creature with another treat - knowing that she shouldn't waste them, but also unable to resist spoiling it a little bit more. "It looks kinda like a kitsune...one of those Japanese foxes out of those stories..." Nari glanced at the fox aga -
Nari stood still as she gazed over the massacre that was once a nest. The gore before her was far beyond anything else that she had ever seen in Aincrad, and for the moment she couldn't look away - her eyes focused on the horror. When the voice spoke from behind them, it took Nari by surprise, causing her to spin and whip the scythe around into a ready stance behind her, before she'd even laid eyes on the dragon itself. "Why have you come here, little ones? Do you desire further bloodshed, further death?" Nari stepped back at the fury in the voice, her mind racing as she tried to find the

Another familiar store, a place that she had been relatively recently as well. Nari pushed through the entryway, taking a deep breath of the familiar smells associated with the arts of crafting weapon and armour. Glancing through the smoke haze that seemed to hover on the air, she headed towards the blacksmith with a confident stride, before placing her scythe, and another piece on the table. "Hey, looking to get another piece done if you've got the time. Bit of a combination of items, please." Carefully and with purpose, she laid out the design she was looking for in the new weapon, mark -

Nari wandered into the small store again, feeling like she'd just recently been here. Taking a few moments, she moved throughout the shop, looking over numerous items and searching for the piece she was truly desiring. What she found, hidden away in the backroom, caught her eyes the moment she came across it. Leaning back out towards the shopkeeper in the front, she waved a hand towards the piece before asking about it. "Hey, uh...is this for sale? Cause I'd sure love it if you're not going to use it...or, you know, if no one else has it on order or anything silly..." Taking 02/04/22 | -

Nari glanced behind her at Onóra, making sure the woman could get a view of the creature outside. She held a single finger up to her lips, before taking a few steps forwards. The fox creature matched her steps, keeping the distance between them, but not fleeing as soon as she moved. Realising that the creature wasn't going to immediately run away, but also wasn't going to let Nari get any closer at the current time, she carefully lowered herself to the ground. Careful not to move too quickly, she placed the treat bag in front of her, opening it up so that the smells would reach the fox in the
