She’d certainly hoped for more, but if she was being honest with herself, she would’ve been surprised if the satyr had laid out her challenge right then and there. That simply wasn’t how Cardinal operated these quests – especially the Challenge of Olympus quests. It seemed to prefer having the players in the dark, struggling to prepare for them. ‘Or perhaps it doesn’t have them fully developed until you actually arrive before the deity of the choice. It wouldn’t be that surprising, either.’ As the mountain drew closer, Nari considered the last time she had arrived to complete the quest. S

The satyr seemed almost puzzled by the question. Glancing back at Nari, it paused in its answer – the mouth of the thing opening and closing a few times before any sounds finally escaped from it. A long, drawn out hum, before it began to provide words that were legible. “Well, it…it depends on Apollo’s mood, I guess. Sometimes it’s creating a masterpiece, or proving skill in the musical talents. Sometimes its deciphering a piece that Apollo himself has created, or maybe creating something for Apollo that he’s never seen before.” The satyr seemed to think for a few steps, the brow furrowin

A slight dip in her head as she showed her agreement with the ideology, before realising that words of confirmation were likely required. “Actually, that’s a really good idea. We’ll likely be focused on the goblin hordes, and this Gaindogrig – which, can we just call it Gain? So much easier…anyways, we’ll likely be focused on them, so if you can find the hatchling that would be perfect.” She sent a look towards NIGHT, her left eyebrow arching slightly in question. She wasn’t sure if the other would understand her silent query, but it didn’t really matter. She hadn’t thought it was arrogan

As the third and final exploding into thousands of shards, slowly drifting towards the ground before disappearing from sight, Nari let herself relax. Pulling up her menu and stowing the weapons and armour – content to return to her more casual clothing – she grinned at the other two, a smile of bliss and enjoyment. “Well, I’d say that went well, all things considered? Did we score anything of value this time around?” She let her eyes wander across the nearby field, searching for the materials that she had come to find originally – almost hoping that something of value would make an appear -
She bounced from toe to toe as NIGHT confirmed their participation in – what Nari was dubbing – the mission to save the village from the big evil bad dragon. Her smile lit across her face as she turned from NIGHT, to Gianna, to Ormi, back to NIGHT. “NIGHT. NIGHT. NIGHT! We get to save a village from a dragon! A dragon! Like real adventurers. We’re like knights on quests. Oh my gods. It’s like the story of Artorius! We’re like the Knights of Artorius!” Her excitement was coming out in squeals as she hopped from foot to foot, her hands up in front of her face trying to contain herself.

A small chime as she entered the recording studio. Pulling up the notification, her eyes glanced over it briefly before she closed it with a smile. Turning to her work, she laid out the crystals she'd be using for the day before opening up the piano. Her fingers hesitated over the keys as she took in the sunlight filtering through the large windows, taking a respite to enjoy the silence before falling into her songs for the day. -

When the two had caught up, Nari gave a small nod towards them, before answering the questions each had posed. She knew the risks, she knew the way that it had all seemed. How it appeared foolish. “I don’t know that I trust them. I don’t even know them, not truly. But they’ve never provided false or dangerous information. In fact…I would say what they have provided has been invaluable previously.” A few further steps, before she turned to the others – her forward movement shifted to a backward as she continued to walk while facing the pair. Her smile had been wiped from her face as she su -
“He is graceful, elegance, and beauty all combined into one. And you should remember that, seeing as you’ll be presented before him and judged accordingly.” The Satyr gave Nari a glance, its eyes running up and down her before turning away with what she assumed was a scornful look. Her own eyes glanced down at her physique, taking in the fox vest, turtleneck and leggings she normally wore throughout her days now. She had to admit, even to herself, that the appearance was less than elegant when considering she was headed to a court of the gods. Bringing up her menu as she walked, she pulle

The sudden warmth of the oceanside city enveloped Nari as she stepped off the teleporter, looking for any sign of the individual whom would guide her to the mountain. The figure – a satyr, similar to the first she’d encountered and yet somehow different – stood off to the side, fidgeting with something on its chest piece. Wandering over to the individual, she gave a slight wave to catch its attention, before speaking. “I’ve received a notification that I am to attend the mountain of Olympus. I’m assuming you’re here to guide me there?” “Oh! Yes, yes I am. Uhm, Apollo awaits. Come, co

The ding of the message arrived just as Nari was preparing herself for her morning shower. Sighing, she wondered who would be messaging her at a time like this – NIGHT was still asleep, and the few others she received messages from usually never sent them this early in the morning. Curiosity overtaking her desire to shower, she opened the notification and let her eyes roam over the message, before realising who the sender was. Sighing, she closed the message and went about her shower, knowing that it was worth following up with later – but hating that she had to go through it again.

Her gaze drifting between NIGHT and the dragon, Nari listened to the tale of the supposed other dragon, and the danger it represented to the nearby village. Something in her knew that it was simply a village of NPCs, that they would regenerate the moment the quest itself had come to an end. Yet she found herself unable to pull that side to surface. “We’ll help.” Two words, and she’d sealed their connection with the quest – promising to stop a dragon from raiding a village. She wasn’t sure what NIGHT would think of it, but Nari knew she couldn’t just stand by and do nothing while others we

Nari’s eyes had been drawn to the visage over the mountain range, the figure noticed only once they had begun to speak. Her attention split between the conversation and the view, she’d barely registered the mention of that name again – Ormi – when the shadow fell across the alright darkened cliff. Head twisting to look back, she caught sight of a glitter of purple in the air, before squealing in excitement. “NIGHT! NIGHT! NIGHT! It’s purple!” Her body had begun to bounce on the balls of her heels as she gazed up at the large, amethyst dragon sitting on the rocks above them. Nari cou

She’d barely caught the question Jomei had tossed her way before disappearing, and as her heart calmed to a normal beating within her chest, she suddenly cursed aloud – realising she’d dashed off without answering. “Tugann Morríghan neart dom. Ugh. This…this is not going how I wanted…” Softly banging her head against the wall, she dashed out of the stage room and back up the stairs towards the main floor, finding the majority of people still within the living room area, a small conversation between NIGHT and Jomei having flourished. She hesitated for a brief second, allowing them to

The blade at her back, the sudden threatening words – from both the newcomer, and NIGHT – had Nari held in place, the spear slowly lowering as her hand slid along the shaft. The bottom haft barely touching the ground, she waited – waited to see what would happen, if anything at all. There was no fear in her heart, the beat unnaturally calm as she considered her options. ‘Not being able to see your target really puts a damper on the whole surprise thing.’ She had just considered making a wild, blind swing – something her Sempai would’ve quite literally run her into the ground for doing – w

Triple flashes, soft against the corners of her vision as her own strike, followed by Jomei – and then finally the shadowed form of Koga lit by the red glow of his sword art. As three of the creatures erupted into shards, Nari pulled her shield in tighter – eyeing their final victim. She wasn’t sure, but she thought she could hear Koga muttering to himself. She couldn’t help but marvel at the synchronisation of their movements, the way in which they were able to play off one another even with their limited interactions. The follow up of attack, followed by rush and attack – it was all so -
Her attention drawn to the side as NIGHT reached out and grabbed her hand, before tugging her along. Nari felt her gaze rise up to NIGHT’s face, following the path of her eyes before noticing the cave entrance that NIGHT had found. ‘So easily. Maybe I should consider some skills in searching, or just general help outside of combat…’ Smiling up at the other, Nari pulled NIGHT along towards the cave entrance. As she made her way up the mountain, she felt herself get playful – the looks NIGHT had been casting towards the outfit had been…noticeable, for lack of a better term. “You can to

She’d almost responded to the teasing tone on her title. Almost. But biting her tongue, she decided instead to reach up and flick one of the ears – which bowed down, only to spring back into place atop her head. Smiling up at the other, she shook her hips, causing the tail to swish behind her lightly. “It was just too cute to pass up. Plus, it fits the name, right?” A couple of bounding steps and she was moving down the walkway towards the teleporter, tail swishing behind her slightly as she walked. The few individuals they passed – those that were actual players, at least – seemed to giv

“Hey, I’d forgotten about this quest…” She flipped the menu for NIGHT to read. She’d completed the first of the Dragon Hunter quests, but had been too preoccupied for the sequel quest; too focused on other quests and skills. “Feel up to facing down a dragon? The first one was easy enough, but company is always…enjoyable, no?” She flashed a smile at NIGHT as she waited for the girl to respond – hoping that it made her look more appealing. The quest itself seemed easy enough, from what the description provided, but she would prefer the company along. Rolling off the couch, she jumped u

The morning light shone through the large windows of the studio. For the first time in a while, Nari found herself alone in the recording area - NIGHT having disappeared to deal with some personal concerns, and Onóra off working on some orders she had recently received. For a few moments Nari simply enjoyed the silence, letting it wash over her. Stirring after some time, she laid out her crystals, opening up the piano and beginning the tune she required for the day. -

“Tugann Morríghan neart dom.” The prayer a soft whisper on her lips as she reached for the bracelet that wasn’t there – another reminder of the fact they were no longer in the real world, even if old habits remained. Standing from her crouch, she glanced at the trio alongside her, before letting her gaze wonder the garden itself – looking for anything that would lead to some sort of conclusion as to what was happening. Her response to the critique of her actions was half-hearted, barely audible enough for anyone to hear. “Sorry…I saw it and…reacted…what is that?” She stepped to the f -

The sound of the chords strumming pulled Nari's attention as she reached for the door handle into the studio. Pausing to listen, she could hear the rising tempo of the song that was being practiced, before the wrong sequence was pulled and the sound of frustrated cursing rang out. Smiling to herself as she remembered her own struggles when she'd begun, she pulled open the door and walked into the studio - catching NIGHT midway through restarting her attempt. "Don't mind me, I'm just going to set up in the stage room today." A quick smile to appease the other, and she moved on to the small
