  1. It seemed that he had yet to gain the red-coated man's trust. Instead of speaking to him first, the man would turn to his companion and accept her words. Trust was something that it would be long before he could accrue. That was fine with him. "A king is nothing without his word. I will uphold my end of things." Turning direction, he would attend to the Galteans that hadn't taken up the fight and now sought refuge from the battle. Their own homes were no longer able to keep them safe, not that they had even been safe in Ladonia. 

    "Galtea has not fallen my people! It lives on here with you and me! Come, we will preserve and rebuild what is ours! Follow me and we will bring you to safety!" It was sudden, the people of the fallen kingdom would surge forward after he and Shiina. He would turn to the girl beside him, "Let's bring them to Low Ladonia. That should keep them safe from any cannon fire and with few entrances should be easy to protect."

    With his people out of harm's way, it finally gave them a chance to begin aiding the effort to push back Ladonia. A hand would shield his eyes from the sun as he looked to the skies. From the looks of it, his allies were pushing their way to board the Ifrit. What drove these people forward? In such a short time they managed to begin overwhelming an entire half of Ladonia's military? Their numbers had grown much since their fight with him, but Ladonia was a whole different story than he. 

    The duo would push back into the fight, finding several people fighting to prevent the troops of Ladonia from condensing back at the Ifrit. Shouts were heard as they communicated along with each other. "What's going on?" he would question. Loud explosions fired off in the sky as someone took control  Ignored. Instead, his partner was called to assist with the situation. The area grew dark as the sunlight was suddenly blocked from view. 

    Looking upward, Gabrandr was suddenly reminded how small he truly was as an airship was hurtling down towards them. His eyes quickly adjusted to the others. It was far too large to prevent debris from crushing them all. To completely incinerate the whole thing wouldn't be feasible. Luckily, it seemed they already had some sort of plan that was mind-boggling to watch. If they could take care of themselves he would do it for himself as well. 

    The Galtean King would suddenly shoot up from the ground, using intense heat and his blade to cut through the ship himself until he had managed to make his way through. His eyes cast to the openings of the Ifrit. It was time for him to join the fight. Lifting further into the air, he would stop near the center of the ship. A blast of intense heat would melt him an opening through to the interior of the ship. Dropping down, he would begin to make his way through the ship and meet up with the people who were currently fighting through it. They were making good progress but the Imperial Guards seemed almost limitless in numbers. Raising a hand, a yellow spear would formulate next to him before being sent out and fighting home in several guards' chests. 

    "Come, you guys are getting close to the Main Control Room. That's where the Scather and Razwell are." 

     

  2. Leading @Shiina in the opposite direction of the Ifrit, the two would return to the Galtean Refugee zone. He needed to make sure that those that weren't participating in the fighting were moved to a safe location, out of harm's way. 

    A flash of blue caught his attention first as a blue-haired woman cut down a Ladonian soldier. A tinge of red blotted the air, the red-robed man who held an unwavering gaze towards the Ifrit was suspect. What was he doing? Was he waiting to see if the Scather would strike again?

    Stepping forward, the Galtean King would speak directly to the man. "It isn't coming again and you won't be able to do anything if it does again. If you wish to help them, assist me with transporting them underground. They will be safer there." The sound of an airship's engine caught his, causing him to turn. Were the soldiers targeting him? Or were they targeting the innocent people that had left their homes and were now onlooking the battle in fear?

    Raising his arm until it was horizontal with the ground, a small blue spear of flame shot forward, ripping through the chest of several guards on its way through. Just as the spear came out on the other side of the group, it would reverse directions and shoot from guard to guard until they had all collapsed. Lowering his hand, he would return his attention to the civilians.

    Player's are asked to decide whether to Spare or Finish off the boss. The next week is open for free Roleplay amongst the Frontliners to come to a decision. When their decision becomes final they should bold it in their post. 

    Gabrandr stood guard over the makeshift Scather. As the tricky dark-haired cat-like woman moved to 'break his toys' as she called it, burning armaments would begin to ward her away. It was in that moment, where his attention had been diverted, that the others made their assault. It began with a scornful dark-haired girl bringing up the front with a flurry of strikes for which he was too distracted to defend against. A few of the armaments protecting the Scather would fade as the returned to assist Gabrandr in fending off his own front of the battle. 

    A trio of players would strike next, two powerful strikes from greatsword and hammer and a final from the acute precision of a katana. Each of them tore through his armor, casting his blue flame into the air until the pieces would sew shut once more. Turning, he would find that the others had already managed to completely destroy his Scather. His eyes fell on the calm and confident smile of the cat-like woman. She had managed to strike again. What was she doing that was destroying his Makeshift Scathers? Now, there was only one remaining. One left to be defended. He had to defend it with the remainder of his power. He needn't worry about himself anymore.

    Suddenly appearing beside the final Scather, he would drive his blade into the ground and wedge it into the rocks. Holding out his hands, he would focus his power to one thing. Powering the many armaments that would surround the Scather. Offense was no longer any form of priority. He just needed to hold out the time it took to power the final Scather to an extremely high amount. No doubt would the Makeshift Scather burst upon firing. He would need to charge it far more than its capacity. 

    No words were spoken, silence ensued as the light behind him began to glow harsher. Should his enemies attack, he would remain standing bearing each and every attack without any attempt to dodge. That was... until the room would suddenly become dim. 

    The rainbow mist in the air had suddenly dispersed, no longer ailing the player's eyes. The Makeshift Scather that had been gaining power had gone dark as well, grinding noises filled the air as the machine itself completely fell apart. The boss would turn wordlessly, his hands falling to his sides. What had happened? The power that filled the machine had become sucked dry as if it were never there. The air had become stagnant of it as well. Only he that he knew of had the ability to manipulate the power the Fates had given him. What could have taken it away? 

    He could feel the tug at his own strength, his energy reserves slowly releasing. It was then that he understood what had caused this. The real Scather had been activated and was searching for strength. With as much that had been in the air, it wouldn't be too long before it had found the power it craved. He was... out of time. With all four of his own Scathers out of commission, there wasn't anyway to attempt to destroy the real before it would fire. It wouldn't be too long before the remaining Galteans were destroyed. What had caused Ladonia to suddenly activate it? Had they grown tired of their search for him? Was this their plan to bring him out?

    He had failed. The fire in his own heart would suddenly dim as his resolution faltered. The armor that encased the boss would suddenly disperse. Falling to his knees, he would say nothing for a moment. Lament rested in his eyes as he understood the truth. 

    "They've activated it. It won't be long before the King Razwell fires the real Scather on the surviving refugees of Galtea. They had barely escaped that fate before, but they won't be able to escape it this time." His eyes traveled to the man in red who had made him a promise. "You had made me a promise didn't you? To drive my opponent to dust was it? You've all managed to overcome me so maybe..." Raising both arms in front of him in an open gesture, he would surrender to his opposition. "Take my life as payment if you must, but please succeed where I could not. My people... do not deserve to suffer from my Fate. It is one that I would wish to suffer from alone. There isn't much time... I beg you."

    Closing his eyes, he would await his answer... or the sweet taste of a blade that would rend his head from his shoulders. As if Cardinal understood the question it would place the answers as an option in front of them.

  4. Deadline for Groups 3 and 4 is set to 11:59 PM CST Friday, 1/7

    There was simply too many of them to focus on at once. From the first strike, those before him had already taken the advantage from him. Attempting to recover, he would summon an armament to stop the blow from the Gaijin samurai but his blade would cut through the ethereal blade. Blow after blow, health draining, he would get to the point where he would simply allow the blades to hit him. There was at least a chance to counter-attack at that point. He could have easily focused on blocking, using his armaments to ward off every attack but in doing so he would fail. He wouldn't be able to even attempt to protect the Scathers or chase off those that opposed him. He would simply have to endure the pain until he could take back the momentum to rescue the Galteans. 

    A gold haired woman ripped the back piece to his regalia, admonishing him for his weakness. "You're right. A real king would. That is a title I am no longer able to bear. A King would not have let his people be ripped from their homeland and failed to protect them. It was I that have brought them to this, it was I that turned my back on the Lords." His words were spoken somberly. His family had come to create such a great kingdom through the Fates and it was he that had turned his back on them. He didn't enjoy entertaining the idea of worshipping entities that would destroy anything against their vision. 

    Sparks rising into the air caught his attention. Once again, he had failed to protect the Scather. Now, the man in Red looked at him with a burning fury tucked away in his eyes. "My people will not live here. I will rebuild Galtea and return it to them. That is their land, their home and I will see it returned to them. If I fall here it is reassuring to know that you will continue my fight where I can't. Though, if the Fates deem that the punishment extends to that of my people your attempts will become fruitless. You will be defying Fate itself." 

    Another voice affronted him along with a sharp pricks piercing into his back side. The voice spoke directly into his ear, requesting answers. "There is more to this world than good and evil. I can already see you all have your own motivations that conflict with my own. That is what has brought us here together. We are opposed because we both have something we can't afford to lose." Pulling away from the man, he would become silent for a moment before pondering his next move. 

    "Even if you all see to it that my enemy is defeated, who will reveal the way to the people? Should I fall, all that remains to protect my people from destruction is a promise. I have watched my Kingdom burn, my people lost. I was helpless to save them, I won't let myself give in now." The black liquid that one of the samurai's had inflicted with would suddenly burn away as Gabrandr's blue aura brightened. The flames grew, the mist churning in the air much faster than it had before. 

    These people would hopefully never have to experience what he had gone through... to lose everything while standing there helplessly. It was a maddening situation. "In another life, perhaps we would have gotten along rather well. The Glass city of Galtea would have been quite the sight to witness for a foreigner. We all have something to protect though, it is something I could never blame you all for. We both have our duties, there is no longer any reason for words."

    The room seared with a sudden flash of light and Gabrandr suddenly stood next to @Shield. Returning the favor from earlier, Gabrandr pressed the tip of his blade against the man's chestplate before a flash of blue would send the man sprawling back. What had it been? A King would move mountains for his people? This former-King would do even more than that. He would obliterate the mountain so his people wouldn't have to make the climb. The mist seemed to gather around him once more. Small blue beads of light would spiral around his figure as Gabrandr slowly raised into the air. Slowly his arm would rise up before he raised his palm. The spiraling beads of blue light grew up they formed as blue spears. The armaments burned fiercely as the held position, waiting for his direction. 

    Feeding more energy into the attack, parts of his armor would flake off into the air as he lost the power to hold them together. He was soon to be tapped out, could he defeat these people and still have enough power to save his own? Should he run out of the power invested his family, it wouldn't regenerate. It hadn't regenerated since he had turned his back on the Fates. No longer did they grant him power. 

    It had to be this way, there was no turning back. These people weren't going to be backing down, they had their own resolution to push them forward. They had something they couldn't lose either, and that is what pitted them against each other. Clenching his fist and suddenly the battle would take action again from its brief pause. The armaments burst through the air, aiming at the ground where the players stood. Bursting a blue flare, several of the spears would find their mark, blasting holes into the ground and some into the players themselves. Slowly lowering to the ground, he was beginning to find it more difficult to stand. The energy it took him to heal the injuries that were made to kill him was tremendous. Defying death was no easy task. 

    Standing in front of the South Scather, He would brandish his sword. He needed to protect it, he had only one fail-safe Scather remaining. Should he let them destroy it like before, he wouldn't be able to destroy the weapon above.

    • [Activate] - Gabrandr will activate one [Makeshift Scather] every rotation. 
    • [Fate's Shield] - Reduces final DoT and RAW DMG by 10%. (This effect doesn't apply in the case of Gabrandr being under the effects of "Shatter") 
    • [Disablement Immunity] - Gabrandr can't be disabled but is reduced by 1 EVA by every unique disabling effect. 

    Attacks

    • [Sword Monarch] - On a CD:10-12, Gabrandr's attack adds the effect: [Weakened]. Weakened decreases DMG, ACC and EVA by 1, and MIT by 20. This effect lasts permanently unless it is removed with [Purify]. This skill stacks with [King's Blade]. 
    • [Bitter End] - Every 3rd Turn, Gabrandr's post action against all parties becomes an AoE attack dealing 200 DMG. This attack can trigger [King's Blade] and benefits from [Fate’s Armiger], but cannot trigger [Sword Monarch].  

    Makeshift Scathers:

    • If not disarmed or disabled before the conclusion of the round in which it is activated, each Makeshift Scather explodes and deals 200 unmitigatable damage to all members of both active parties.
    • Targets that take damage from an exploding Makeshift Scather have their accuracy reduced by 2 for the next 2 turns.  This effect can be refreshed, but does not stack.
    • Attempting to disarm a Makeshift Scather requires a post action. Players from any party may attempt to disarm any active Scathers by rolling natural LD. The Scather you are targeting must be identified in the purpose of the roll to be valid. Those with Lockpicking (including Dismantling), Nimble, and Paragon Level 10 loot bonus gain these respective LD bonuses to this roll.

    Blue smoke steamed off into mist in the air as Gabrandr's attention returned to the next group that assailed him. There were two definitive groups pushing the assault while the other temporarily regrouped and recover. It was an effective strategy and something he could hardly counter. In the instant he had to fight off the last group, this one had already recovered from the beating they took before. 

    A small smirk would appear on the face that the players couldn't see. They were most impressive, a force capable of facing an army. The question was, where had they come from? Had the Fates created them just for this purpose? Just to put him down? Even he hadn't expected the coffin they destined for him to be so grand. The Fates had really gone all out after he had managed to survive the Scather. 

    Few of the second group attacked, many of them opting for other options. Such as ruining his stuff. He needed to keep them going if he wanted to save his people from the menace that rested above. It was either he did something about these individuals or lose the lives of the hundreds that awaited his success. 

    The blades, especially the last ones, tore through large chunks of his armor. Blue smoke rose off the wounds, returning the armor to its original form. How long could he keep this up? It was difficult, maintaining the Scathers and himself. Regardless, he shrugged off the stinging static of the blond and returned with a slam of his weapon into the player's chest. Finally, he would seem to almost melt into the air until he stood in an attack-ready position in front of the spectacled tank. A thrust of his blade would make it past his defenses and slam into his left shoulder. 

    Hardly anything worthwhile to either of them. How was he going to bring this fight to a close in his favor? He couldn't escape, that would simply forfeit the entire plan needed to save the Galteans....

    After the ground had ceased its shaking and the dust cleared, voices began shouting through the air as the other front began its counter attack. Assaulted with both question and weapon, he simply allowed the blows to strike him. There were far too many of them to attempt to block them. Out of everything, the words hurt the most. The words that questioned is intentions and motives and scrutinized his people. The problem was, their words were true. He had failed. He had failed his people. Believing that only he would suffer the consequences of turning against Fate had been false. Now, it was his duty to save them from the demise he had brought them too. As long as he could save them from the inevitable destruction, he would. 

    "Sacrifice? Destroy the city? None of you are understanding. I'm not sacrificing any of you. I'm stopping all of you from becoming the catalyst that gets all of my people killed. Even now, I will still offer you the chance to leave. The mistake i've made was long ago. Until I've made up for it I will take any pain, punishment, or hardship I can from my people. It's all I can do. I don't wish to ascend the throne, all I want is to free my people. I will unshackle the chains that bind them. I will dismantle the threat the looms over them, ready to destroy them at a moments notice."

    The spear that stuck in the ground became alight again, but Gabrandr wasn't using it. The weapon simply was burning to his own resolution. Holding out his left arm to the side, the second sword would form there from the mist. The blue weapons floated around him at least until he gave them direction. Pointing his weapon forward at the sturdy tank, the weapons would be sent forward straight at him. The weapons went through the man, shattering into mist as they did. Gabrandr would suddenly appear behind the man, his two blades lashing out. The taste of thorns wasn't appealing, but he would take the punishment. 

    Turning on Raidou, the one that questioned his mistake, their blades would once again interlock. Was the man really without fault to be questioning like that? Everyone had made mistakes in the past, surely the man in red would have too? This time, Gabrandr spoke aloud when speaking to the man, his words heard by those in the immediate vicinity. "I know how you must feel about this. I'm a man hellbent on the destruction of your people and reclaiming the throne. My aim is only on the palace above, where the tool of my people's destruction sits and the monster who wields it. I am not without mistakes, but I would be making another one if I just gave up now. I have nothing against those that you protect. I would not stop you if you tried to leave."

    Gabrandr wasn't without understanding of these people. They weren't truly enemies, simply on different sides that Fate had brought them too. To them, it would appear he was satisfying his bloodlust and revenge. To him, they were simply those sent to stop him from accomplishing his task. Pushing off the vocal man, he turned his gaze back on the other team. Were they still willing to stand against him after that brutal blow? Or was their resolution as great as his own?

    The King of fallen Galtea stood tall, accepting any of the blows coming his way. He made no attempt to block or side step them. The blow would land if that was what was ordained by Fate. His abnormal health bar continued to drop as every blow sapped at it. Honestly, he wasn't too concerned about it. He wasn't even concerned about the attacks. While the others could not see his eyes, it was more than obvious that his gaze rested on the black-haired woman in skin-tight armor. Fists tightening on his sword and shield's handles, he would watch as another of his precious scathers fell into ruin. Was it even possible for the plan to continue? He would have to protect the other two... or use them before the warriors destroyed them. He needed to get to the girl but too many stood in his way, hacking at him and blocking the path forward. Turning to another Scather, he would summon the surrounding energy to power it on as he had many times before. 

    For now... he had to have some sort of way to slow them down. He couldn't let them stop him from saving his people. It was his duty as King. Releasing his hands, his weapons would melt into the air. They would only add to the rainbow mist. The gashes from the previous attacks had already been molded over with a fresh layer of his blue armor. According to appearance, all of their powerful attacks had been for naught. Raising a hand over the ground, a massive spear rose from the ground, carved from the very floor beneath their feet. However, the stone weapon was now enhanced thousands of times over with a bright burning flame of his own signature. 

    A fleeting image passed through his mind. A smile was all it was. A smile... that he had failed to protect. Was he going to stand by why the rest of the smiles were lost? No. Leaping into the air, he would ascend about twenty feet before he met his peak. Launching the weapon down, it would hit the ground with a deafening sound. The blow would split the ground, creating rips in the floor that would spread across the entire battlefield. From the cracks, blue flame rose up, their burning fury sparing none in the area. Only those that were the lightest on their feet had the chance of escaping the attack. 

    Landing on the ground, a harsh sound would be heard as a heavy sigh came from his lungs. If this was what was necessary to save his people, he would destroy everything in the way of their salvation. A glance at the weapon he had used, the crude stone spear still burned brightly as it remained implanted in the ground where it had struck.

    • [Bitter End] - Every 3rd Turn, Gabrandr's post action against all parties becomes an AoE attack dealing 200 DMG. This attack can trigger [King's Blade] and benefits from [Fate’s Armiger], but cannot trigger [Sword Monarch].

     


    Makeshift Scathers

    • If not disarmed or disabled before the conclusion of the round in which it is activated, each Makeshift Scather explodes and deals 200 unmitigatable damage to all members of both active parties. 
    • Targets that take damage from an exploding Makeshift Scather have their accuracy reduced by 2 for the next 2 turns.  This effect can be refreshed, but does not stack.
    • Attempting to disarm a Makeshift Scather requires a post action. Players from any party may attempt to disarm any active Scathers by rolling natural LD. Those with Lockpicking (including Dismantling), Nimble, and Paragon Level 10 loot bonus gain these respective LD bonuses to this roll. 
    • If more than one Scather is active, the specific target of a disarming attempt must be identified in the purpose of the roll to be valid.

  8. Deadline for Groups 3 and 4 is set to 11:59 PM CST Tuesday, 11/30

    Gabrandr stood tall and strong as the next wave of people charged him, weapons blazing in a myriad of colors. Unlike previously, he no longer jerked away from the pain of the attacks. Instead, he stood and took it. His own power would protect him as it had before back in Galtea. It was the only reason he had made it out but his loved ones had not. 

    As the first two struck, their blades would fall towards him slower, hitting with less force. It was hardly visible, but as the weapons connected a dim blue light would appear, covering his entire body like a bubble. However, the third one caught him by surprise. The young man's light had been weaker so he hadn't expected it when that bubble shattered around him from his attack. The blade struck true and for the first time since he had used the power of the Fates, he would falter. Before Gabrandr was even able to counter, the rest were on him. Their attacks were almost perfectly coordinated with one another's to prevent his attack. It reminded him much... of the past. 

    As lights flashed and the blades struck, those that attacked would notice something. As their weapons made their attack, it wouldn't feel like they were striking armor nor flesh. It would feel odd. Just as much would the game's reaction to him being struck. Instead of the normal red gashes and shards that would fly into the air, instead Gabrandr's wounds would appear as cracks in his armor that burned with his signature blue flame. Over time, these cracks would slowly piece back together, but it was almost as if the player's weren't really attacking him directly. 

    The last to attack would be the large man he had attempted to reason with earlier, who was fighting in a... odd way. An elbow to his face would bring a surprising amount of damage as the thorns pierced into the side of his face. For a moment, Gabrandr's real face might've been able to be seen, it his helm quickly reconstructed itself as his blue flame burned hot. Finally, with no one to back the man up, Gabrandr was able to retaliate. Slamming into @Shieldwith his own shield, he would quickly finish an attacked with a powerful pierce that would leave the man sprawling with blue flames singing at his sides. 

    Turning from the man he had just attacked, he looked onward to put out the fires in the room. The ones who desired nothing but to stop what he had started. The ones who refused to do anything but ruin everything. The ones that kept messing with the Scathers had had built. They had seemed to become more attuned to turning it off then before. Eyeing one, as soon as he took one step forward he would become met with a resistance. The two's blades would crash, Gabrandr looking down to meet The Wanderer's eyes. Through the attack, Gabrandr could grasp an understanding on the force that resisted him. 

    Words would be heard by none other than Raidou as the words themselves seemed to infiltrate the man's mind. "So you too... have something to protect?" They would stand for a moment, sparks flying into the air as their weapons grinded against one another. A heavy sigh would be emitted before the spectral weapons that had begun to surround Raidou, ready to pierce the man from any angle, would fade into the air. Pushing Raidou off, he would return focus to one of his Scathers, a light shining from his hand as the mist gathered and brought the machine to life.

  9. Deadline for Groups 1 and 2 is set to 11:59 PM CST Tuesday, 11/23 

    Even through force, many others didn't heed any of his warnings. While he was holding one half of the group, the other half pushed forward and began messing with the Scather he had reactivated. Why couldn't they just leave them alone? He needed them all to go off at the same time if he was going to be swift with his work. Instead, thanks to the previous burst of heat, much of ceiling above had grown unstable and threatened to fall down. As the first two began messing with his Scather he stepped forward to intervene but he was immediately intercepted. 

    A dagger struck his rear, forcing him to stumble forward at the sudden attack. The pain from it, he felt it all. Her dagger sunk right through his unprotected body. He didn't get any time to recover before a katana sunk through his right shoulder. "AGH!" The king cried out, pulling away. Her words nearly fell on deaf ears. He couldn't understand what she meant by show her the entrance to the next floor. There was no floor, this was underneath the Palace. The only way out was whence they came. Another attack struck him, the force completely catching him off guard. The sound of plate armor caught his attention and he turned just in time to see a woman bringing down a greatsword upon him. Rolling to the left, he allowed her swing to miss and strike the stone ground beneath them. 

    Breathing heavily, he stepped back and took a look at the situation. It was dire. His Northern Scather had not only been disabled, but dismantled. It was no longer ready for activation, the hollow opening fallen to the ground and no longer facing up. One of them had done something, and he was certain it was on of the girls in the beginning that had begun to mess with it. The Lords had taken a gamble sending these people to face him, and so far it was working. In just a few minutes, they had already begun to ruin the entire operation. He had tried convincing them, but it had failed. He was backed into the corner, with only one way left to go. Forward. 

    Rubbing his injured shoulder, he looked at the players. His look at first, was filled with sorrow. Slowly, it became filled with a fire. "It seems that this would be fate." A heavy breath before he steeled himself. "I won't back down." Gabrandr stood tall, planting his sword firmly into the stone at his feet. "For the lives of all of my people living above the ground, their King shall light the way! It is up to me to win our freedom back!" The burden was heavy, but it was one that he would wear with pride. His people had suffered greatly since they lost their home. He would gladly sacrifice himself to ease that suffering. 

    Grabbing the hilt of his blade with one hand, Gabrandr would close his eyes. A fleeting memory passed through his mind. The loving smile of a woman and the trill laughter of glee from a child. "For the family I've loved... and lost." The air was still for a moment before suddenly the rainbow mist in the air began rapidly churning and spinning around the room around one focal point. Gabrandr. Blue flame surrounded the man as he called on all of the power the Lords had given his family hundreds of years ago. 

    "COME TO ME!" 

    Embers of blue fire swirled suddenly into the air, surrounding Gabrandr until he became completely engulfed in it. He would stand there unmoving for a moment as the blue flame became even more intense. Suddenly, the flame burst out a couple of feet from the man and he no longer looked the same as he had before. In his place, was an eight-foot tall armored figure. The armor was cracked in various places, a blue flame rising into the air from them and becoming rainbow mist in the room. He now held a shield and his sword was far more hulking then before. The blue flame that had shot out from his body had now begun to take shape, becoming various different weapon types of pure energy. "There will be no hesitating". The voice seemed to come from all sides of the room, deep and filled with sorrow. He had a job to do and he if had to slaughter all of the people before him, then so be it. A few lives to be spared for the good of many. The Lords of Fate had made it to where he would fail. The only question was, did he have the power to change that fate? The text on his name flickered, changing entirely. The damage he had taken became healed and three more bars became added. 

    He charged forward, his size not impeding his speed whatsoever. In fact, he was faster than he had been before. First targeting Lessa, she would be the first in the room to know the new power he was surging with now. Using the technique passed down from king to king, father to son, he would make his first move. A groan echoed across the room as he threw his hand forward. The weapons at his side suddenly turned horizontal before all rushing the woman. All making their marks, a blue fiery explosion would engulf the woman. Not wasting a second, Gabrandr was suddenly by her, a blade in each hand. A single stroke made in an X pattern would knock the woman back and onto the ground with its force. Gabrandr wouldn't hesitate a moment to look after the woman before suddenly turning on the blond that had caught his attention earlier. Merely a second passed and he was on him. A wave of his shield would throw the man's katana out of the way before several of the Fate's Armiger weapons struck him cleanly, only to be finished off with a strong blow that would through the man back. Turning back on the enemies, he stood ready for whatever they would throw at him.

    The group of people before him hardly heeded his words, quickly beginning to issue their own commands amongst themselves. What he wouldn't give to be back in Galtea where people heeded his words of warning. "No! Don't touch those it's dangerous!" Once again ignored, the players would begin fiddling with the Makeshift Scathers. Some twisted at its parts, others mercilessly beat at it with their weapons. One even climbed on it foolishly. Did they not care for their own lives?

    Allowing these people to mess with the Scathers weren't good. He had built them himself, designed crudely from the very weapon that had taken everything from him. A weapon given to Ladonia just to see him destroyed. Thousands of lives lost in the Lords scheme. It was no doubt that the Lords had sent this group of people to stop him. They wanted him dead and allowing him to take a stand wouldn't be good for their visions. They had made a mistake in the past, giving the royal family of Galtea too much power to change fate. 

    No, these people would not be willing to listen to his words. He would have to show them he meant business. They appeared to be well armed, but did they really come to fight? Or just to stop his plan? Were they the tool that the Lords devised to bring him down? Questions for another time. A piercing glare caught his attention. Sorrow eyes met that of the Wanderer. He had been one to offer orders in the past, perhaps the best way to make them see light was through their leaders. 

    A flick of his hand and a blue light would shine. The rainbow mist that filled the air suddenly condensed, a dark steel blade forming from nothing. Pushing off the ground, he would charge the man in red. Gabrandr was fast, but his speed wasn't off the charts. Blow met blow as his sword locked with @Raidou's. "You have to stop them before its too late! You don't know what you're getting involved in. This doesn't concern you all!" A booming roar met the air, as a voice challenged him. Gabrandr turned, his force against Raidou faltering. A mouthy one this new arrival was. His pride would surely spread to the others, preventing this conflict's aversion. He needed to deal with that next. 

    Pushing off of Raidou, his blade swiped the sturdy man's thick armor. Nothing seemed to get through. He winced at the pain from the thorns but didn't falter. "The funny business began when you arrived. Grab your friends and leave, it isn't safe her-" 

    As if on command, a sudden wave of heat would wash over the players. Gabrandr looked back wide-eyed as he found someone was still climbing on the Scather. Were they trying to get melted? Turning suddenly, it was as if the world bent to his movement to allow him to move faster. In an instant he was on the Scather, grabbing the girl by the back of her armor and throwing her off the Scather. Moments later, a beam of white-hot light struck the ceiling, singing the nearby players and blinding them. His Scathers weren't supposed to have gone off, had he made them wrong and they were unstable? Or was it the fact that they were fiddling with them? The Scather in the North had darkened, its light no longer hinting at it being on.

    Focusing, he held his hand out in the direction of the North Scather, a blue light shining from his hand. The mist near the Scather gathered before entering its hollow interior and lighting it once again. Sweat trickled down the former-King's face. "Please leave, I can't waste any more time on you all."

    As the wooden gates were pushed forward, a mist suddenly filled the area the players prepared in. This mist wasn't like normal. Instead, this mist seemed to refract the light around it and take a hue of all colors on the rainbow. Peering through it would prove difficult like looking through water. As the players stepped forward, the first thing to draw their attention would be two bright lights that cast their light over the rest of the room. The mist itself seemed to come from these lights. 

    The only thing was that these lights weren't lights at all. Now lit and able to be seen, they were hulking mechanism of an unknown design. Resembling closely to cannons, four of them were laid in the cardinal points of the room. Each of them was faced in the upward direction at the rocky ceiling above. Only two of them seemed to be active as they gave off an orange light that also served to warm the air itself. A voice would capture the attention of the frontliners, calling out to them in a worried manner. 

    "Leave quickly! It isn't safe here! Evacuate the area as quickly as possible!" 

    A shadow would pass over the players as a man stepped in between them and the machines. The middle-aged man was dark-haired in dark clothes. They were fancier clothes, such as the one a noble would wear. His arms and legs were covered in a black leather and banded gold. His hair and beard were unkempt and his eyes seemed tired and filled with sorrow. Turning his back to the players to refocus on the machines, a name and a single health bar would rest over his body.

    Makeshift Scather Mechanic:

    • Players of any party can contribute to any of the Scathers. 
    • A player will use their post action to deactivate a Makeshift Scather, rolling the LD to determine how much they contributed. Place which Scather you are targeting in the purpose of the roll or it will be Invalid. 
    • Those with Lockpicking, Nimble, and Paragon Level gain their respective LD bonuses to this roll, but no other bonuses are applied.

     

  12. General Notes:

    Please ensure that the following are included in your stats:
    - Shifts (or note as ‘none’ if you don’t have one)
    - Combat masteries 
    - Source IDs for all consumables* (ID roll, post link, or feast provided by another player)
    - Level and Paragon Level (will matter for thread closure)
    - Tier of equipped and carried items (T4 assumed where not noted.  Please inform staff if otherwise)

    *Not required for items in Battle-Ready, just those you actually consumed.

    All corrections and clarifications must be completed before the deadline for Group 1 to finish posting.  Please update your initial post and then tag or DM @Freyd to let him know when you have done so.  Items requiring action, as noted in the spoilers beneath each character below, will be stricken as they are completed.  Items mentioned as 'notes' are for your reference only and do not require any action.  Unresolved issues will result in buffs/items/etc. being unavailable and removed from stats prior to calculating the first boss post.  

    Three people have looked at the stats, but things can still sometimes slip through.  Let us know if you spot any errors, or have any questions or concerns.

    Formatting of all stat bars has been standardized to try and help staff process boss posts more quickly.  Please do not change this format, even if it may be different from that to which you are accustomed.  You know your characters far better than we do, and we trust that you will manage and appreciate your assistance.

    Lastly, please be sure to clearly state your post actions and your use/recovery of EN during your posts, and check your hate values.  Related information has been pulled out into separate stat lines to help staff check these values.  Your assistance will help staff process boss posts more quickly.

  13. The room was small and dimly lit as only a handful of torches lined the walls in the area that rested in front of the Boss room's door. A pungent odor filled the air, the same that had filled the long tunnel from where the field boss had fought the initial party. When all was silent, the players would be able to hear the constant drips of the sewers behind them echoing from the tunnel. Surrounding them now entirely unchiseled stone. In fact, the small area outside of the tunnel almost seem to have blown open through the work of dynamite or some other form of explosive. All that separated the mass of players and the boss room was a rotting wooden door held together with steel bindings. Despite its state, the etchings of a boss room rested on it. There wasn't any turning back now. 

    The fated battle beckoned.

    Guidelines
    - Players will have until midnight CST [1 AM EST] on November 9th [10th] to post their stats. 
    - Players are allowed to use 5 crafted consumables for the battle and any amount of consumables from Quests or Field Bosses (Consumables that expressly note they are ineligible for floor bosses and raids remain unusable.)
    - The traditional strike rule is in place for this fight. After missing 3 posts, the Player is removed from the fight and forfeits all rewards from the thread.
    - Once the battle starts, players have 72 hours for each rotation to take their turn. 

    -To join the battle, players are required to create their own stat block. They can do this manually or use Raidou's Spreadsheet found in the pins of the Discord Frontline chat.
