What's happening with the forum, as near as I can tell, is this: 

In thread post counts aren't updating with the forum, but when you click "post" the site still registers the post so players can read them.

What that means is that when a thread reaches the end of a page it's not reading properly to show the subsequent page.

For example, in my solo Mat hunting thread on F14 I have 21 total posts. However, the forum still shows it as only like 18 if you look at it from either the Intermediate Floors sub-forum or if you physically pull up the thread.

If you manually count the posts, yes there are 20 on the page, but because the forum is only reading the thread as 18 posts (instead of the actual number) the forum won't load the second page of the thread which means I can't get to Post 21 to get the link so I can dice roll and be done with the thread.

Does that make sense?

The forum seems to be doing this with ALL THREADS.

Go to my mat hunting thread in the Intermediate sub-forum. Then hover the mouse cursor over the thread title, but don't click. When the thread thumbnail pops up, click "Latest Post" and it will show you the 21st post which says "Roll and Edit" even though if you click on the thread itself there's no way to get to that post because the Forum isn't registering that I've completed a page of posts in the thread yet. Even though I have.

Despair not, I've talked to Shark (as many of you have). The admins are working on correcting the problem. We simply have to be patient.

You all have about 34 hours to post still before you get auto-hit for being skipped. You can exit combat and watch the proceedings (as Mestophales did), you can attack the Trainee (which I did with my alt. as a means of demonstrating that as a reasonable course of action), or you can try and attack another one of the mobs on the field.

But, you do need to post.

@Heathcliff I find it quite amusing that your banner image from the Anime has fairly reasonable stand-ins for both Opal and Mack in the form of Asuna and Godfree, respectively. The irony amuses me.

@Calrex and @Ariel - The Crowned Lionmy PM function on the site is being wonky right now... probably because I'm overtaxing the home network at the moment.

Anyway, you want to blast through Iron Guardian with me real quick... in the next 60-90 min. Should be a cinch, I want the banner. Could solo it if you're not in.

@Hikoru if @Rohk doesn't kill you before my next turn I will flip a healing crystal your way. Only 15 HP, but better than nothing.

Everyone else, low levels in particular, it's not too late to take advantage of the Christmas Thread to get free stuff, or mostly free stuff if you want it above Tier 1.

A wild Mack appears. Sorry for poofing on everyone. Between the international job hunt (which includes Zurich [Switzerland], Salzberg [Austria], Okinawa [Japan], Kathmandu [Nepal], and Shanghai [China]), the holiday season, a few major community events that I've had to take part in, and working on a book which I imagine (but cannot categorically state) wouldn't be popular with the players I've been swamped. I'll try to return like a triumphant Caesar from Gaul after Christmas and the New Year.

Shortly, the Staff will begin discussing PK Rules. I'm going through the discussion thread for that right now.

Nothing personal, everyone, but if you have Staff needs please ask the PST's for the time being. I'm not trying to ignore anyone, but I have a great many Community things that I'm either running or working on.

Alright, I think my profile, journal, and all is back up to snuff. Need to come up with 3 SP between now and the end of the raid to be at T3 when that drops, unless that rule changed while I was gone. I'll read the guides when I have some free time tomorrow.

Alright... I have Permission to restart the Monthly Bosses. Keep your eyes peeled for the sign-ups. I'm just waiting on final approval on the stats.

Words of Wisdom:

1. Anyone and everyone can sign up for this event from Level 1 on. This beastie will have a LEVEL BASED DAMAGE TABLE. Translation, the higher your level the harder it will hit you. It will also have a LEVEL BASED REWARDS TABLE, the higher your level the smaller the reward. These are, after all, primarily to level up low level players.

2. We will not be cancelling this event to prevent Player Character Death. If you sign up to take part then it is a tacit acknowledgement and acceptance that the beastie might kill your character. Translation: if you want to be safe make sure you have a teleport crystal to escape.

3. We're not setting out to try and kill pc's with this Event and we will work to make sure it is as safe as we can make it. You have all been warned that it could happen, so no being salty if it does. I have tried to build something that is challenging to players of all levels. When dealing with a Level range of 1-50+ this is a challenge. Trust me, the rewards are worth it.

4. As with previous iterations, there will be an OOC Feedback thread.

Also, I am willing to trade a Perfect Tier 2 weapon to any Tailor that can craft me a Perfect Tier 2 set of gauntlets with 3 ranks of Thorns.

I'm returning to my original build of hit them as hard as possible and then make sure I get to hit them when they hit me too.

And, with the completion of the Blood in the Sand Quest... I have reached Level 30... finally.

As I imagine everyone has seen, the Asterios Monthly Boss Fight is officially under way. No more editing of stats is permitted.

Violations will lead to a forfeiture of all event-related rewards, so you'd only get your 1 SP for participating.

ASTERIOS ANNOUNCEMENT!

With 14 votes in favor of trimming down the posting timer from 48 to 24 hours and moving straight into Combat we will be jumping into the Asterios Fight tonight. There were also a handful of votes for one or the other of those solutions. Therefore, it is impossible for their to be a simple majority in favor of neither solution.
