  2. Nari was used to locating the form of Nemo – the man tended to stand out against most civilised areas, the straw hat and goofy lopsided smile anything but normality among a population fighting to stay alive in most cases. More so out of place in a town that was anything but alive. She’d found the non-player character at the very edge of the town, just beyond the gates leading beyond and outwards, his stance, colourful disposition, and general personality make him stand out against everything around him. ’Hey, Nemo. How’ve you been holding up?’ She gave a small wave, the shield and spear

  4. He wrote, the quill scratching against paper, as he noted what she had said. She nodded as she listened to his reply, turning her gaze to look out the window once more. "The more days that pass, the more I fear we won't live to see the end of the game." Her eyes snapped to him, he sighed. The way he said that, it left a gut-wrenching feeling in her stomach. She walked over to his desk, slamming a hand down; a little harder than she had intended. "Don't do that, don't you dare even think about giving up Wulfrin." Her face contorted in slight pain, she retracted her hand, letting it fall to her
  5. The rattling of darkened, weathered chains echoed across the lake’s surface. Black-dyed boots made soft landfall on a wooden dock, carrying a girl with a sinister-looking grin up the path to the sleepy valley. A pink bob and bright eyes clashed against her costume: black horns sprouting up from her skull, fingertips stained red to the second knuckle, and broken shackles on each wrist. Boots laced up to her knees and she was dressed in a cacophony of black leathers, cloth, and lace, with tattered red ribbons littering her like stuck-on decorations. Her eyes, normally altered purple, were change
  6. Az got a grin on her face as she crossed her arms. The first person to walk up was fully dressed up, and that outfit was one she would approve of if she were more into Halloween herself. She looked at the man's appearance and honestly was about to jump into her combat mode, but she was only reminded by herself that today was the day of creepiness and fun. She is still a bit on edge from floor 9. Oh well, at least she had someone here to take these candies out of her hands as she was already very tempted to grab some for herself. When she heard the man speak, she shook her head at him, "N
  7. "The Freedom to want freely..." she echoed under her breath, testing the shape of the words. He continued leading her in dance, gracefully, precisely. She loved the feeling it gave her, it was like she was floating. Though she had to admit the feeling of being led by him was something entirely different than what she had expected. It wasn't that she had never danced with anyone else, but those that guided her in the past had given her a much less desirable experience. The teachers she had in the past would drag her about; cruel instructional dances, ones that left her exhausted and beat. Her b

  9. Fae woke up today like she did any other day she actually had work to be about; Groggily and with almost no room to spare to get ready at all. The only reason she woke up at all was the incessant buzzing coming from her window sill. Zazu, Fae's new familiar, hated both buildings and cities and refused to go inside of any of them unless absolutely necessary, and luckily for him when she teleported to new floors he seemed to just appear with her regardless of where he was at the time. "Alright, I'm coming, I'm coming." she tossed her pillow at the window to let the bug know that he could shut up
  10. "You good Mari?" Jevi would ask her words rum-soaked yet there was still care and concern in her voice. Mari's demeanor had changed abruptly, suddenly appearing as if she was about to have a panic attack. "He-hey" she would reach out to put a hand on her shoulder, raising to her feet at the same time Mari turned to face the man. Was this someone she recognized? Despite their masked appearances, he had many striking features that stood out amongst the crowd. And his accent was very unique, within Aincrad at least. Would be hard for him to hide in a crowd of people who knew him. More import
  11. ’I would be excited to host you!’ They carried on in silence for a time after the commentary, speaking only randomly and sporadically as they crossed to the edge of the floor. Nemo commented on various things they saw, Nari and Onora providing brief, albeit polite commentary in return. The two women allowed Nemo the chance to engage and be excited, but never pressed him into any sort of frenzy of socialness; instead, simply letting him express himself as he saw fit in the moment. At some point Onora had linked arms with Nari, and although the knightess would’ve preferred to have her weapo
  12. ’Oh! It’s good to see you again as well, it’s been far, far too long! You don’t have to stay away, or be polite you know – the garden is always open to you for visiting!’ Nari sensed a deeper, almost desperate for attention tone beneath the words and kind smile. She’d learnt during a previous encounter just how lonely Nemo often got, and though she’d maintained a resentment towards the non-player character for some time, she’d thawed enough to feel a measure of pity towards his loneliness. A feeling that she herself had gone through, and wished upon no one else – even a computer generated bein
  13. ’We’ve been a bit busy, as of late. It’s held us up from visiting as much.’ Nari side eyed the man-drake, a smile on her face and yet a coldness to her tone that was anything but cheery. She quickly added to her statement after a sharp elbow to the ribs from Onora, taking the queue to attempt to be a bit more pleasant. ’We’ve missed you and the garden, though. It was high time we came back and spent some time together, there.’ The words were anything but entirely truthful, and yet there was no lie in what she said. Nari had chosen her words carefully. Although many of the non-player chara
  14. They’d left the town quickly, Nemo excited for the company, and Nari clearly in a rush to enter the garden and begin the trails of locating anything of value. Not that she was entirely waiting just for the garden to come into view – her hands and eyes plucking at any flowers and fruits that they passed along the way, following the road that wound deeper into the flowing fields beyond the Town of Beginning. ’It’s been some time since you visited, I was starting to wonder if you were ever going to return!’ Nemo beamed as he spoke, as if seeing an old friend for the first time in decades. Th
  15. Nature's Treasure: Little Eden ’What was they said about overdoing things?’ Nari didn’t look over at Onora as she continued walking through the town’s streets, looking for any sign of the man-drake that would lead them to the garden. She’d heard earlier in the day that the form of Nemo had been seen roaming the first floor once more, as if taunting players to come find him – a task that Nari had been more than inclined to accept. Onora had been dragged along in the excuse of having a day away from the shop – the blonde had been attending to it with a fervor that screams oncoming burnout –

Standard Recovery +4 EN, Recovery | 255766, CD: 12 (+8 EN), Crystal of Divine Light Debuff Fades The woman offered a coy and mischievous smile as she’d stare back at the two so ever curious. “You should expect as much from me by now, shouldn’t you?” She expressed as her weapon took to a silver streak of white light, quickly transitioning from something simple to something far more grandiose. A flick of the wrist sees a portion of blade made chain, as jagged bits dangle from a handle in her grasp. Her shoulder jerks and the thing twines into a spiral, wrapping around the body of one. 18. Standard Recovery +4 EN Giving Ruri the okay to go home if she wanted to, this was just about done anyway. Griswold was holding strong against the creatures. Coming up from behind the large man, he would stab right into the larger monster. Using his foot as an anchor, he would pull out and slam down quickly causing the creature to tumble backwards. Glancing to the man’s health once more before pushing his focus to the two remaining enemies. This was nearing toward the end and even Nisahime knew that she was staring just like he was, probably trying to figure which combination of weapons s

  21. “The freedom to want freely is a novelty. The freedom to act on those desires, even moreso,” Oscar replied. “That’s the point of the evening. To unashamedly chase that which you want.” He had to admit to himself that she was right. People had worn themselves to dust in the name of desire. Wars fought, nations burned to ash. They wanted what they couldn’t have. Be it the love of a woman or the fertile lands of a neighbor. And so it drove them to bring their new enemy to ruin, only to find that to be their reward at the end of it all. But there was a key difference with this energy that bui

  23. For a few moments, Plum just blinked at the stranger, struggling to connect “rough day” to “I drew this for you” to the girl standing suddenly before her. It was so unexpectedly jarring that her stressed-out mind simply blanked, unable to even register the sketchbook now proudly displayed in front of her. Her gaze fell to the page, and her breath caught. “Oh-” she started, then stopped. Then started again, her voice quiet but carrying a tone somewhere between disbelief and incredulous amusement. “--oh my god.” The drawing was really something else. An overexaggerated caricature o
