  2. ♬ Violet watched as Freyd struggled to speak, knowing full well how much pain he was likely feeling. It had to be incredibly, incredibly agonizing to allow his walls to collapse for even the barest, briefest of moments. 'You're hurting... you're hurting bad, and you can barely comprehend it.. can you?' Elora was much more tense than before, the barest trace of anger flitting across her face as she slid the notebook forward... the anger fading almost instantly the moment she'd dropped her mask away. Now it was replaced by concern, along with traces of concern and apprehension as she watche
  3. Well played, Elora. Well played... Freyd was still trying to squeegee egg yolk out of his already perpetually messy mop of hair, now stylized with extra body that was tangibly hardening in the open air. Her response had been more subtle and effective than he'd expected. Not that she wasn't capable of guile. He'd seen the play of her lips hinting at the secret monologue within, the sly glances out of corners of her eyes. Elora was no slouch. And, while not exactly an open book, he'd come to know better than anyone in Aincrad could likely claim. Time to use that... for the most fun-fi
  4. Azure eyes regarded Mina curiously, then cautiously as she summoned a notepad to hand. What is she writing down...?, Elora narrowed her eyes to peer at the text. A transcription? What the hell? To document such a vulnerable discussion felt unnecessarily judgmental and detached. Maybe that's the point --, Elora seethed, She's not even tryin' to listen to Freyd, just prod and gawk at him like some sort of lab rat -- Perhaps her thoughts had been less quiet than she had hoped, for only a matter of moments later, Mina warily removed the veil that shielded her features. The intensity of Elora'

  6. "He's already in a church," Freyd called back to Wulfrin, drawing attention to the scattered sculptural remains and iconography embossed into the surrounding worn and faded stone. "Well... kinda. I don't really know what any of it means, but Bob here got uppity and tried to steal the show from his former boss. Looks like some agreed with him while others disapproved of his behaviour." Quickly jerking a thumb over his shoulder to the similarly dressed and intermingled skeletons strewn all over the chamber and outer courtyard, the likelihood of some sort of coup seemed high. The monst
  7. Bob, as Freyd had taken to calling The Forgotten Time King, was left completely open for an attack from Wulfrin. Nova Ascension is a devastating multi-strike combination attack that could easily decimate a normal mob's health bar. Wulfrin had yet to pull of such a move in combat before, and the only time he had attempted it was back when he squared off with Kumatetsu alongside Nari. In that encounter he had flubbed the attack, and in every encounter since had failed to meet the criteria again. Now it was active during another boss fight for a quest, and Wulfrin took that as a challenge to rede
  8. Ciela watched Freyd battle the king, she was puzzled as to why he was called "Bob" but she went with it. She's given random things random names before so she assumed this was as such. She planned to ask him more about it later. Ciela looked over at Wulfrin, then stopped her gaze upon Nymoria. She signed over to Nymoria, "I'm not doing much to hurt him either. Freyd and Wulfrin are the damage dealers. We can just sit here and look pretty honestly." She chuckled. She wasn't worried one bit that we all couldn't fight this battle. Freyd had the health to take the hits, and "Bob" seems to hav
  9. "You hit plenty hard, Kat," he replied, scolding her from beneath the rim of his cowl and slender eyebrows combined. "Don't you be selling yourself short like that. We just need to teach you a few wumbo combos and you'll be outpacing me in no time." Ryland was too busy trying to operate the skiff controls one handed to do much blabbering, and his gut was still seething from the cut inflicted by Drell's poison blade. In fact, the Dockmaster was starting to look worse for wear; enough so that Freyd truly wondered whether he'd be in any shape to navigate them safely to ground, even if the
  10. The opportunity to strike an enemy when they have been knocked off their feet is something that doesn't present itself very often, Katoka took that moment to strike. When Ulric hit the deck with a thud there was the all too familiar sound of a sword art charging and striking. A gust of wind rustled the downed pirate's hair as he looked down to see a red slash across his body and the small blonde now standing over him grinning. It wasn't a strike that dealt the amount of damage she had wanted, but it was better than nothing. With a few hops and skips she returned to the edge of the dock an

  13. "Ah, its no problem!" she gave Ciela a gentle smile. "I've been trying my best to make sure I come to these kinds of things a bit more prepared. The more prep that we - That is to say, people like me and Kat - do, the faster that we can get you guys out of there, and up to a higher level. Both of you are heading to the frontlines, yeah?" She snickered as Kataoka shivered in the bitter cold, the blonde samurai stuttering that she was fine. "Really now? You're kinda quaking in your boots, Kat." she snarked, tapping away at her menu. "Here, have one of my spares. Hope you don't mind purple!"
  14. Coming up to the shop's front doors. Kyoto looks up at the sign, then inside to see the owner. Rencesvals was a suggestion to Kyoto from Freyd. It seems like a lot of players like coming here to grab there gear or upgrade with what they have already. Kyoto other hand has 2 things he needs. A new sword and new set up gear. As Kyoto would walk in he would try and grab the attention to Rencesvals and hand him the paper that would be his order. "Hey there, I have an order I like to put in. Freyd recommended me to you."
  15. "I only know as much as they tell me. I trust that that's enough." Odd that such a throwaway line would make such an impact, simultaneously heartwarming and soulcrushing at the same time. His heart felt like it flinched at the statement, even while Elora meant to dodge further engagement in speculation. The wave metaphor for emotions seemed both apt and poignant, matching his own limited experiences. “Nice architectural reference, with the concrete,” he added, smiling meekly. “My father would have approved.” Crows’ feet clawed at the edges of his eyes as Mina clinically laid
  16. While Zandra went berserk on Cerberus, Morningstar watched intently. She was this sort of cheerfully insane presence that he had never witnessed before; Freyd seemed a bit more comfortable with it. Perhaps they had fought together in the past. The way she spoke told him that she was an ex-frontliner, and that he'd be seeing more of her in time. He followed her into the fray, noticing the Cerberus and its lackies were reaching the ends of their shockingly limited health bars. Zandra crushed one of the two remaining Cerberus heads with the brute force of her axe, before slamming into the sm

  18. “We’re deep in this floor’s labyrinth,” Freyd began, by way of explanation to Mina’s query. “And hip deep in a nest of spooky shit. This place is definitely hinky, in the darkest-side-of-Scooby-Doo kind of way.” Hirru and Ariel showed up before their conversation could progress much farther, the latter mocking Mina for sneaking off with him for special nooky time. A snorting grunt was all he could manage before Mina shot down the regal woman’s innuendo, hard. He, meanwhile, looked forward to mentioning it to Elora, with certain dubious embellishments about the turnip-shade of red Mina’s fa
  19. "Let There Be Light," Wulfrin mumbled as he began turning through his internal rolodex of quests. "Can't say I've done that one yet. I haven't the slightest clue how to start that one." He looked at Ciela, who was looking about as confused as he was. Neither of them had really done much questing save a few tiny things here and there to get Ciela some fairly nice experience gains, so this would likely be a new experience for the both of them as well. The conversation began to shift to that concerning of their roles in combat. Wulfrin let out a small chuckle at the notion that the new playe
  20. The starchy aftermath grew ever evident against the marooning backdrop of Elora's face. Where Freyd may have expected shrieks, he was instead greeted by an unnerving silence. A prolonged stare would soon reveal subtle tremors that lapsed into uncontrollable shakes from sticky head to splattered toe. Steam may as well have been sizzling off of her skin as Elora made one swift motion to hurl the egg she'd been holding into the kitchen ceiling above. What could have been miscalculated as a stray attack would soon find its way from the rafters onto the head of the wryly player. In a moment's notic
  21. It didn't take long before the two of them reconized her needing help. She was thankful actually as she was wanting to get in a few levels before helping MorningStar out more with there little adventure. "My name is Etherial. And the quest I'm partaking is 'Let There Be Light.'." She wasn't to confident in doing this quest by herself. In matter of fact she was almost certain if she attempt it on her own she would of killed herself. It would potentially partake into suicide and she wasn't about to become another victim to this death game. "Thank you so much for helping me. I only
  22. It didn't take much time before Star started to get going on his adventure. That being said though she knew that she wasn't strong enough to really partake in higher floor quest. But at the same time this would be the chance she can finally get out of this floor and on with her own adventure. "I think I'll come along with you. I don't want to waste away here in the Town of Beginnings anymore." She wasn't nervous when she said that. Instead she was confident. She knew that if he left this area she'll soon be caught up with the main group and she can help get them to the next floor. Th
  23. The loud thudding was all the hunter could hear, as Mina shouted out to them to move. He could not move so well in the end so instead of trudging through the pile, the hunter dug deep into the leaves. He didn't see what happened to Ariel, nor did it matter. All he knew was there was a giant something that was barreling towards them. The charge blew through the pile, as if it were nothing. Thankfully, the hunter was sprawled out on the bottom. The smaller the target, the better; he thought. The only thing that was left was a few things of leaves around him, but the fern in leaf pile stil
  24. Adelyte pondered for a moment on Nymoria's question. Then she took advantage of Wulfrin answering first so she could think about it even longer. All she had heard about were the frontlines - the best of the best putting their lives on the line to make sure they could one day see their friends and family again. Those players were always made out to be heroes, and the glory of it all sounded appealing. But.. did all that glory mean anything when their lives could be snuffed out in an instant? Sure, she was putting herself in danger any time she would step out from the city's gates, but at least
  25. "I don't think he's inconvenient, not after our first interaction at least." Montjoy had been gentle presence, one that had only arrived to help. If only to calm the deep-seated tension in both of their hearts. "He appeared when he was needed, driving home a point of understanding that neither of us could convey on our own, and faded back to your shadow." Violet set her utensils down, finally finished with her meal. Akame had fluttered over, chirping as she landed on her shoulder. Violet watched Elora, her only eye taking in the way the other girl looked. Pale, minty green hair, and soft
  26. "It's not a talent Freyd, it's using the right tool for the job --", "...and a tool is only so good as its wielder's skill and devotion," he added, finishing the thought while gratefully accepting her assistance. Listening as she dissembled and downplayed her own way of living, Freyd simply shook his head dismissively. "My life has too much structure. Even though I go to lengths to keep it changing, my constant focus on business lends to its predictability. You would never normally find me doing... this. Which is precisely why I need to do so." A strange sense of serenity pervaded Fr
