Vices & Virtues

Compassionate Lessa is an incredibly kind-hearted individual. She has the unique ability to make people around her feel at-ease, and she seems to be an endless supply of positivity. She can find the good in any person or situation. This makes words her strongest weapon, as most of her disputes end with discussion rather than violence.
Determined A lifetime of farming has taught Lessa the importance of hard work, diligence, flexibility, and faith. She rarely backs away from a challenge, and is considered by those who know her to be quite resourceful. If plan A does not work, you can count on her to have a plan B, or even a plan Z (should the situation call for it).
StrongBoth physically and mentally, Lessa is a strong woman. Her physical strength comes from working around the farm, and goofing off with her brothers. She is by no means bulky, but tossing a bale of hay off a wagon doesn't trouble her too much. Her mental strength is perhaps even more important. This comes from her parents, who taught her that she is capable of anything if she works hard enough.
Naive Lessa is far too trusting of those around her. She was raised to believe that everyone is inherently good, and all of her decisions reflect this. In her small, rural community, very few people took advantage of this. In the virtual reality world, however, she may find herself being far too trusting of the wrong people.
Strong Morals Lessa has a strong sense of what is right and wrong. This was instilled in her from a young age, and she has lived by it her whole life. In many ways, this can be seen as a virtue. Unfortunately, life in Sword Art Online is rarely so black and white. She will surely find herself conflicted when she encounters an issue that is not so clear-cut.
Inexperienced Though Lessa has played video games with her brothers for many years, she is hardly an expert. A basic understanding is all she has. She certainly has the drive to learn more and improve, but she is certainly at a disadvantage when compared to professional gamers.

Lessa's life is a very honest one. Growing up on farm, and working for living does tend to humble a person. Her parents emphasized the importance of dedication, hard work, faith, goodness, and inner-strength. She and her triplet brothers came to depend on these virtues, and lived their lives by the lessons that their parents taught them. They are good people, who work for everything that they have, and take nothing for granted. Lessa has blossomed into a strong young woman with a strict moral compass.

She feels comfortable among strangers, as her outgoing personality will usually makes friends out of those she meets for the first time. Perhaps her best trait is her ability to adapt quickly to the situation around her. Her father taught her how to ride, build a fence, and shoe a horse. Her mother taught her how to interact with people, and settle even the most severe of disputes with her words. Using these skills, she can smoothly transition from "tom-boy" to "proper young woman" when she determines the situation calls for it. This is not to say that she is not genuine - she simply possesses the ability to judge what is appropriate based on her audience.

In many ways, Lessa is average. She received A's and B's in grade school, and has earned similar marks in college so far, despite her strong work ethic. She is of average height, which is accompanied by an average weight. Her long hair is the same blonde color she was born with, and save for the handful of light freckles that adorn her tanned cheeks, there are no unique markings on her face. And though her big, deep-set blue eyes are beautiful, the color is not uncommon. What sets Lessa apart is her presence. The atmosphere seems to change when she walks into a room. She is a warm, happy soul, and her contagious laugh seems to never end.

Growing up with three older brothers really took its toll on Lessa. Rough-housing, wrestling, and messy hand-to-hand combat were daily occurrences. Video gaming was also a hobby that she picked up from them. Long hours were spent gathered around the family's only television, playing cheap copies of old shooters and fantasy games. When Lessa heard about Sword Art Online, she did not hesitate to spend all of her savings on the game and nerve gear. The thought of experiencing the virtual reality game before her brothers did was just too good to pass up.
