  3. << SAO 2017 Holiday Raffle >>

    Raffle Ends on 12/31

Hello fellow roleplayer's on SAO-RPG! 2017 is finally coming to a close, and everyone behind the staff team thanks you deeply for letting us continue to update our game and in making this site as fun as we can, without you none of this would had been possible. However, lets skip to the good part, we all know why you are here: TO WIN FREE STUFF. As celebration of making it through 2017 and to celebrate the holidays, we present to you a Holiday Raffle. With the cancellation of the PvP tournament, we didn't want to destroy the weapons and never release them, so the three grand prize weapons from the tournament will be a prize in this raffle along with three special Christmas theme'd items. However, the tournament prizes can only be claimed by players in that Tier, meaning a T2 or T3 player cannot win the T1 weapon... the T1 ad T3 cannot win the T2, etc. All you need to do to enter is by simply writing a reply in this thread! Everyone who participates will receive a special Candy Cane Material Item to their inventories. If a player wins a prize they do not want, they may instead opt for the Consolation Prize.

Please Note: Players cannot win more than one item, which includes Alternate Characters. However players may enter Alternate Characters, however you can only win one item on your characters.

    Everyone Receives:

    • Candy Cane Material [Player's Tier - Unique Item] - Ability: When consumed for a craft, no roll is needed and becomes a auto Perfect Craft. (You do not gain EXP from this craft.) - Description:  A special material with a candy cane swirl.

    Consolation Prize:

    • Christmas Spirit [T1 Unique] - Ability:  Changes the name, look, item type, and description of any item used upon. The item must keep the same enhancements. Anything this can change is optional. - Description: a cute ghost wearing a Christmas Hat trapped in a bottle that promises to change a item to a players liking design wise if they let him free.

    Tournament Prizes:

    • The Blade of the Joker [T1 Perfect - Weapon of Choice] - Enhancements: Phase I / Paralysis I / Vampiric I
    • The Blade of the Emperor [T2 Perfect - Weapon of Choice] - Enhancements: Holy Damage II / Paralysis I
    • The Blade of the Dictator [T3 Perfect - Weapon of Choice] - Enhancements: Holy Damage II / Phase I

    Christmas Prizes:

    • Rudolph the Red Nose Baby Reindeer [Unique Rank 1 Familiar] -  Familiar Mastery: Red Nose (Ability: +1 LD per Rank when searching with your familiar, this does not stack with the Loot Die enhancement. Additionally, debuffs caused by Darkness do not affect your character.) [If a player wants this familiar and already has ranks in a familiar skill, the ranks carry over to this familiar. However, players cannot have more than one familiar, if you win this prize you either settle for the consolation prize or lose your current familiar and replace it with this one.]
    • Naughty or Nice Blade [Player's Tier Demonic - Weapon of Choice] - Enhancements: Freeze II / Phase I / Cursed I
    • Santa's Cloak [Player's Tier Demonic - Armor of Choice] - Enhancements: Never Freeze I / Paralytic Immunity I / Life-Mend II or Mitigation II [You cannot switch between the two, when you win you gain a choice between the two.]
  4. Jack had looked around as players were enjoying themselves in his party, he didn't really understand many of them... he simply... existed, however he knew when people were enjoying themselves and when they weren't. However out of the corner of his socket he had noticed a few players getting heated towards each other, this had only made Jack angry. In his eye sockets his eyes glowed red as he pulled out his scythe with the screams of crows in the background as he stepped towards the players. "Now now little ones... this isn't a place for fighting, at least not yet. I bring you all here to enjoy yourselves, and well... if its a fight you all wish to start." his voice shifted to a darker tone as he leaned forward to them "I can provide if you aren't willing to stop." he stood tall as his voice returned to its normal shift and said lastly "Either enjoy yourselves or show yourselves out."

  5. ID: 90208 - CD: 5 - LD: 5 @Stryder - Won Accursed Souls
    ID: 90209 - CD: 11 - LD: 11 @Dazia Won SP Candy
    ID: 90210 - CD: 2 - LD: 13 @Hikoru - Won Mini-Pumpking
    ID: 90211 - CD: 12 - LD: 10 @Buckstrap - Won Scarecrow's Fear
    ID: 90212 - CD: 12 - LD: 8 @Hestia - Won Lost Fragment - Whoops.

Jack after seeing a good amount of players arrive onto his party he had stepped into his home and yelled out to everyone at the party "Alrighty! Since I believe everyone is here... it is time to do our raffle..." he cackled. He raised a hat in front of everyone and said out "In this hat is every one of your names, and one by one I will give out these wonderful prizes! And because I am nice, I will hand out one Lost Fragment just to have another winner. First! The Accursed Souls weapon!" he reached his hand into the hat and pulled out a piece of paper, he hummed and said out "Stryder? Where are you!" he waited for him to step up "You've won this sword, however becareful... once you touch it... it will never leave you. So if you dont want a item stuck to you forever take a Accursed Souls" he turned back to the crowd and yelled out "Next! This wonderful SP Candy!" he reached his hand in the hat once more "Dazia? Dazia where are you!" he had waited for her to step up, he placed the piece of candy into her hands "Here... eat it, you'll gain more skill points and grow stronger." he turned back to the crowd "Next... our mini-pumpking... Hikoru? Hikoru! Come here!" he opened the gate, and noticed that he had a familiar, he chuckled and said "Alright three things can happen here. One, take a Lost Fragment and be on your way and he'll find a new home. Two, release your current familiar and you may take this one. Three, watch him eat your familiar alive."  he cackled and waited for his response. He went back to the crowd and said "Now! Scarecrow's Fear! ...Buckstrap? Buckstrap where are you!" he waited for him to step up, he said out to him "Same thing with Accursed Souls, when you also touch this item it will stuck on you forever, so unless you want this item I would take the Lost Fragment. But it is a great piece of equipment that no one else could have." he said swaying him. "Lastly... since I am nice, ill hand out one Lost Fragment... Hestia, it is yours."

NOTE: All players who have won an item have 48 hours to pick it up, if you don't pick it up in 48 hours default action of rerolling will take place.

    Event Runs from 10/22 - 11/5
    Raffle is drawn at 10/31

An NPC that goes merely by the name of "Jack" has sent an invitation to every living player in Aincrad around this time of the year:

    Quote

    To: All of Aincrad!

My name is Jack, King of the Fallen Souls. I understand all of you are fighting, climbing floors and levels, however I recommend you all stop by and join the party! I understand this world can be extremely stressful, and so it doesn't hurt to take a day to calm down and enjoy a party with your friends or together as a community.

A special item will be given to you at the door for showing up! Just mind your manners... I don't find it funny to those coming and leaving immediately. I also have special raffles to hand out! Those who show up wearing a Halloween costume will be automatically entered. I'll see you all soon. Coordinates are attached, of course.

    Your Friend,
    Jack

Upon inspecting the coordinates that were given, it seems the surrounding area had been completely unexplored without any previous map data to speak of. A large cobblestone wall stands to fence off the perimeter of an impressive mansion. The normal blue glow of the crystals and florescent flora of the tenth floor seems to have been replaced by hues of orange and yellow that fall from the rocky ceilings looming far above the building's rooftops. A rusted gate marks the entrance to the grounds, where players will find the sender of their messages standing tall with a mischievous grin as he greets his guests on their arrival. When you would approach the mysterious Jack, he would look you over with an appropriate greeting:
    If wearing a costume:
"What a nice costume! It is great to see you here at this event. Here's your item for showing and I hope you enjoy yourself."
    If not wearing a costume:
"'Tis a shame, Poor Soul, you could have had a shot at something fantastic today. Still, do be sure to enjoy yourself."

Item Given to Players at the Door:
Candy-Guard! [T1 - Perfect Consumable] - Enhancements: Safeguard - Description: A potion that guards the player with a barrier of ghosts and candy. Tastes like Candy Corn.

Players only have access to the Foyer and the Great Room while in the mansion, although these rooms alone are incredibly spacious. Jack would claim their space combined is of a size large enough to comfortably hold three hundred players, at the least! In the center of the Foyer, suspended high above the heads of party goers, a chandelier gently bobs up and down along with the shapeless ghosts that serve to hold it in place. The many candles that illuminate the room lightly flicker as if a mild wild is blowing, though none can be felt inside of the mansion's walls. At the end of the room, the raffle items can be seen in display cases of varying sizes. If a player so happens to question the uninteresting-looking pumpkin sitting motionless in a small cage, Jack will give a hearty laugh to explain:
"Why that, my friend, is none other than The Pumpking. It seems he was defeated a long time ago, but his soul was transferred to this pumpkin right here. Now, now, I assure you he's harmless; simply looking for an owner is all! Just be mindful not to wake him up before the prizes are drawn, would you?"
Throughout the room lies a plentiful amount of activities, and players are free to partake in any typical party activities!
((Players are welcome to create standard party games or activities in their writing while at the event. Feel free to ask a member of staff if there might be any confusion.))

    RafflePrizes.png

    1. Accursed Souls [Player's Tier - Weapon of Choice] - Enhancements: Cursed / Damage / Damage / Damage - Description: A weapon that has been crafted from the fragments of Monster Souls... the weapon Material is an unknown Gray Stone that seems to never break. However... you can't seem to let go of it from your hands or character.
    2. SP Candy [T1 - Special Consumable] - Ability: Upon consumption, the player immediately gains 3 SP. - Description: A piece of candy with a purple wrapper with the initials "SP" on it. Says it tastes like Candy Corn "Fun Fact: it tastes like Black Licorice".
    3. Mini-Pumpking [Special Familiar] - Ability: Upon winning, Pumpking wakes up and shows his true form and serves the player as a familiar. If a player already has a familiar, the player may either let the familiar go or watch as Pumpking eats it alive. After gaining it as a familiar if the player doesn't have the Familiar Mastery extra skill, they gain the skill and still must submit their familiar in evaluations (If Pumpking dies after, the skill disappears). However if a player already has it, then they may change their mastery they have at the moment. - Description: A small pumpkin with a common face carving upon it, however on purchase actual eyes will appear in its sockets, a tongue will come out from its mouth and from the bottom and the sides of its body shoots out thick vines that allows it to stand and have arms. Afterwards it reaches within its mouth and removes then places a small crown upon its head.

    74nkidi.jpg

The word from an information broker says there is a boss with the power to change an orange cursor back to green after its defeat. Rumor has it that the boss can be found in a secluded cemetery on the first floor, in a place where the sun's rays never seem to break through the murky clouds looming overhead. Piecing together the stories from different players, there exists a massive statue in the shape of an angel that only awakens when at least two players are near, and only if one possesses an orange cursor. 'Repentance', as it's said to be called, has health and power higher than anything else found on the first floor and has killed many who have simply tried to redeem themselves.

    <<Repentance>>:

  9. <<Skill Refunding>>

Welcome to the Skill Refunding section of your menu. In this topic you can remove unwanted skills from your character for a one time Col cost. All the Skill Points you invested into your skill will be refunded to your character, and can be reallocated freely. The prices for removing skills, as well as the template are listed below. In order to do this, players must post in this topic using the template provided below. When the transaction has been confirmed by a Player Support Team member, they will quote and approve the refund, and your points will be free to be redistributed. Abuse or exploitation of the system in ways it was not intended to be used will not be tolerated, and may result in both the Col and skill points being permanently deducted from your account.

    Rules on Skill/Mod Refunding:

    • Players may only apply to refund a total of 50 SP from skills and mods once every 30 days.
    • A skill can only be dropped as a whole.
      • Example: Player A has Rank 5 [Katana]. Using the Skill Refunding System, they must drop the skill completely from R5 -> Unskilled. If Player A still wants to use a lower Rank of the skill, they must re-invest SP into the [Katana] skill afterwards.
    • To remove a skill in which you have invested in any mods/add-ons/shifts, these must also be removed.
      • Example: Player A has Rank 5 [Katana] with the [Ferocity] and [Stamina] mods. If Player A wants to drop the [Katana] Skill, both the [Ferocity] and [Stamina] mods must also be removed.
    • SP refunded from mods/add-ons/shifts tied to their skills do not count towards the total SP limit when dropping skills as a whole, however they will do so given a mod-specific refund scenario.
      • Example: Player A can immediately drop [Ferocity], [Stamina] and [Katana] Rank 5 by dropping [Katana] Rank 5 directly, remaining below the 50 SP limit. However, should Player A only wish to remove [Ferocity] and [Stamina] without dropping [Katana], they will have incurred 4 + 4 = 8 SP towards their 50 SP limit. When dropping other skills, take care to note that the SP incurred from dropping mods/add-ons/shifts without their skills are added onto one's calculations.
    • Col spent on Skill Refunding must be transferred from the player's Spending Account to the Banker. When dropping entire skills, SP refunded from mods/add-ons/shifts must also be added into this col transaction.
      • Example: Player A must send the col for [Ferocity], [Stamina] and [Katana] Rank 5 when they decide to drop Katana Rank 5 directly.

    Refund Costs:

    • There is a fixed Col/SP cost and the complete sum has to be calculated by the player.
    • The actual Col that you need to pay can easily be calculated by multiplying the fixed Col/SP cost with the amount of SP that can get refunded
    • Col/SP ratio = 1000 Col/SP

    Template:

Skill(s) Being Dropped: [any skills being dropped here. please include any ranks.]
Mod(s)/Addon(s)/Shift(s) Being Dropped: [any mods being dropped here. please include any ranks.]
SP Incurred Towards Limit: [total SP being refunded via dropping entire skills and mods without their skills.]
SP Refunded: [total SP being refunded and hence need to be paid for.]
Cost: [total cost for SP refunded.]

  10. <<Banker System>>

The Spending Account located on the main site page will now be used to track and transfer col and materials. If you need to set an initial value for an existing account, make a post in the [Spending Account] thread in the Evaluations section. A staff member will verify the details and add the resources to your Spending Account.

In addition to the Spending Account, you also have a Bank Account (Central Bank of Aincrad). Think of this as a savings account--the resources here are still yours and are listed separately from the Spending Account. You might want to use this if you are saving up for a large purchase or would like to keep some resources separate. Only you may transfer resources to and from a Bank Account.

Each resource under the Spending and Bank Accounts have four different options:

    • Balance Dashboard: Brings you to a dashboard of that resource in the corresponding account. Here you can see the account's balance history, list of transactions, and access to the other functions.
    • Transfer: Allows you to transfer resources between your Spending Account and Bank Account.
    • Send to Member: Send resources to another player.
    • Transactions: Brings up a pop-up list of your transaction history.

When sending resources to a member: Ensure that you have entered the correct user. You can only send resources to one player at a time. Include a note along with a link to the post in which you are transferring resources. All transactions must be verified with a post link. Transactions made out of character are disallowed.

When buying a house, guild hall, etc.: Col used to purchase items or services offered by Cardinal should be sent to the @Banker account. Link your post in the corresponding Evaluation/Application topic when making these purchases.

When receiving thread rewards: When a topic is locked, players will receive col and material rewards as a transaction from the Banker account.

When crafting: Send the consumed materials in a transaction to the @Banker account with a link to the crafting post they were used in.

  11. <<Spending Accounts>>

For the full details of the Banker system and how to use the Spending Account, please visit the [Banker System] rules in the Tutorials section.

This thread is for existing characters who need to establish the current values of their spending account.

Simply make a post in this thread listing your total:

    • Col
    • Tier 1 Materials
    • Tier 2 Materials
    • Tier 3 Materials

A link to a col long must be included in your evaluation post.

Once verified by staff, your original post will be quoted and approved, and you will find the initial resources available in your account.

Until further notice, players must still continue to record transactions in their col logs/journals.

Description: After having fought yourself, and spared the summoned incarnation, you have learnt to focus in times of need, improving accuracy for a brief moment.
Possible to obtain after completing the quest <<The Gemini>>

    Disguise
    Active: Free action
    Cooldown: 3 Turns
Effect: Gain +1 EVA until the start of your next turn
Description: After having fought and killed your duplicate, you have learnt how to use its trick of becoming another, visually becoming another target.
Possible to obtain after completing the quest <<The Gemini>>

    Objectives:

    • Defeat <<The Gemini>>

    Summary:

    Hooded_Man_Standard.png

"You look pretty strong." A hooded figure approaches you and offers a simple challenge.

"I'm looking to test my skills. If you beat me, I'll teach you a hidden skill. What do you say?"

You travel to a suitable location outside of the city's safe zone in silence. When the hooded figure turns to face you, they reveal themselves. They have copied your appearance--everything from your facial features to equipment is completely identical. This challenge suddenly became a lot more sinister...

    Outline:
Players must meet <<The Gemini>> and accept their challenge. <<The Gemini>>'s stats are determined at the start of combat.

    <<The Gemini>>'s Stats:

    • HP: (Player's Level) x 10
    • DMG: (Player's Level) x 5
    • MIT: (Player's Level) x 1.75 (Rounded down)
    • ACC: (Player's ACC)
    • EVA: (Player's EVA)
    • Critical Hits: DMG + (Player's Level) on a natural MD 9, DMG + (Player's Level x 2) on a natural MD 10.
    • <<Disguise>>: +1 ACC to <<The Gemini>>'s first attack.
    • For each consumable/temporary buff a player has when facing <<The Gemini>>, it will gain additional effects. For example, if a player has 3 temporary buffs, <<The Gemini>> will have Paralyze, Bleed, and bonus DMG.
      • 1: Gain Paralyze: Removes player action for one turn on natural MD rolls of 9-10.
      • 2: Gain Bleed: Deals (12 * Player's Tier) unmitigatable damage every turn for two rounds on natural MD rolls of 9-10.
      • 3: Increases DMG by (Player's Level)
      • 4: Increases MIT by (Player's Level)
      • 5+: Increases HP by (Player's Level x 5) for each additional temporary buff on the player.

Once combat begins, there is no running away from the battle. <<The Gemini>> will attack first, before the player, meaning the Charge skill cannot be used against it. <<The Gemini>> does not have any items, skills, or equipment besides the appearance of the gear the player is wearing when combat begins.

Players can choose to end the fight in one of two ways, which alters the skill they receive from completing the quest:

    • On the killing blow, <<The Gemini>> is destroyed. Player gains the <<Disguise>> skill.
    • On the killing blow, <<The Gemini>> is instead reduced to one health and is spared. Player gains the <<Concentration>> skill.

If <<The Gemini>> would deal the killing blow to a player, they are instead reduced to one health. <<The Gemini>> will end the combat and the player will have failed the quest (no quest rewards are earned). If they wish to try <<The Gemini>>'s challenge again, they must attempt the quest again in a new thread.

      • 1 Additional SP.

    • Note: Players over the level threshold may still participate and complete the quest, but will be denied SP rewards. (Other rewards will still be earned.)

    Objectives:

    • At least one [1] Pages (20 or more posts).
    • Defeat 3 <<Wolves>>.
    • Defeat <<Venom Snapper>>.
    • Return to Gatsly the merchant to receive reward.

    Summary:

    Untitled-1.png

You spot a merchant sitting in the corner of a pub in the heart of Urbus. As you approach, he coughs and gives you a pleading look.

"You come for the bill I posted? I am Gatsly. I work as a merchant, making just enough to support me and my family, but lately all of my supply caravans have been destroyed or chased away by a ferocious beast." He looks down at the floor, "I don't have much, but if you could slay the beast, I would pay you."

Should you accept, Gatsly marks the coordinates on your map and tells you that the beast is a mutated, venomous wolf, deadlier than any other in the forest. He hands you a vial of green liquid and instructs you to drink it if you find yourself poisoned.

    Outline:

Before embarking on the quest, each player receives one <<Antidote>> from Gatsly:

    Quote

    <<Antidote>>

    Item Type: Potion

    Tier: 1
    Quality: Uncommon
Enhancements: Reduces the duration of a single Poison, Bleed, or Paralysis effect by one turn. If used out of combat, reduces the duration of the next Poison, Bleed, or Paralysis effect that would affect you by one turn.
Description: An alchemic concoction of herbs designed to reduce the duration of damaging or impairing status effects.

Players must explore the forest outside of Urbus for the <<Venom Snapper>> and its wolf pack. Parties of two players will fight all 3 <<Wolves>> and the <<Venom Snapper>> simultaneously. Solo players may choose to spawn each monster separately. When the <<Venom Snapper>> and <<Wolves>> attack, each use the MD result of separate rolls.

    <<Venom Snapper>> Stats

    HP: 150
    DMG: 35
    Critical DMG (MD 9-10): 50
    EVA: 1

    • Venomous Bite: Natural MD of 9-10 poisons the target, dealing 10 unmitigatable damage at the start of their turn for 3 turns.

    • Feral Strike: Every time a <<Wolf>> is slain, <<Venom Snapper>>’s next attack becomes AoE. This ability can stack (if 2 wolves die at the same time, <<Venom Snapper>>’s next 2 attacks become AoE). “Venomous Bite” can still trigger on AoE attacks.

    • Player who deals the killing blow receives (1) <<Venom Vial>>:

    Quote

    <<Venom Vial>>

    Item Type: Potion
    Tier: 1

The «Monument of Life» is a large stone tablet that replaced the «Room of Resurrection» in the official server service of «Sword Art Online». The monuments lists the names of all the 10,000 players of SAO. The names of the dead players are automatically crossed out, with the cause, time, day, and month of death written beside it, though the year of death is not recorded. The three meter tall monument extends approximately ten meters sideways, and rests atop a small set of dais within the Black Iron Palace on the first floor of Aincrad. Approximately two thousand names have been crossed out since the first month of the official release of the death game.
