[EV-F26] Defying Destiny

Recommended Posts

As the group of frontliners pushed all the way to the control room, Calrex continued alongside the, making sure to keep somewhat in front in order to help create openings in the guard formations. However, it seemed as they entered where Razwell was residing, a wall was put up before them. Not a literal one, but a wind barrier that seemed to want to push they away. Caught by surprise for a moment, the best the deep blue armored player could do from getting forced off his feet was to hurl his upper body forward, planting the Grand Blade IV into the floor to serve as a post to hold up against the gust.

However, he didn't have to resist for long as Krysta's Barrier enveloped him, and two other players barrier encased Razwell's device, seemingly the source of the winds. With that the combat resumed, as the frontliners clashed against the Elite Guardsmen doing all they could to keep their Grand Imperator safe.

Flipping his sword into hammer grip the Ultramarine Knight gave a breath before his body became enveloped in bright blue energy for a moment. With a slight tilt forward <<Charge>> activated as he rocketed across the area, targeting a cluster of guardsmen.

"Right now focus on thinning their numbers. That'll force them to spread out or concentrate. Either way will expose openings in their formation."

Sparks erupted where metal scraped against metal as his sword continued to glow with a ghastly blue aura before Calrex became a blur of motion, numerous horizontal circular slashes barraging against the shields of the guardsmen that forced up like a fan against his assault. "Swallow's Departure..."

However, this initial Sword Art was a prelude, meant to put them on the defensive. Immediately after the spinning strikes finish, the Ultramarine Knight was already lowered into another stance, blade still blazing bright blue as three near simultaneous strikes came from his form: Two rising diagonal strikes followed by a wide horizontal slash. The first two knocked the guards shields upwards, exposing their torsos for the third strike to cleave through in tandem wth his roar, "Swallow's Return!"

As the guards he sliced through fell, another group took their place, weapons raised towards him. "That's it, keep focused on me..."

Lamont had just begun to make his way to Gabrandr when he pulled the stone from his pocket. Was he going to use the very limited amount of power he had to try and resurrect the leader of another kingd

Krysta drew her blade, it was now her turn to pitch in to the fight with a more offensive course of action. With herself and five allies under the effects of her barrier, the players stood a fair chance at surviving any swarming assaults. Vigilon, Baldur, and Calrex all took action to dispatch the enemy's Elite Guards. While there were more elite foes attempting to guard the Tyrant, their focus was on the Blunet. This was Krysta's chance. She began with Celestial Sweep while the guards' were distracted, Holy Energy arced across the blade as she struck the third one. A flash of light as she used Radiant Strike on the second. Krysta took a deep breath as she readied her next art. "...Luna Regalia..." She spoke as to keep her focus on which art she would be using next. Light shone from her weapon as she struck three of the elite guards, and surely her enemies would be weakened. Just about any attack would finish them now. She readied herself, and took position, waiting for the right moment. "Your defeat is at hand!" She declared to the enemy forces.

"And I shall not hesitate to finish this!"

The combined front easily created a hole that the boarding party could use to push through the shield wall, easily clearing out those that remained, and becoming a single force that would storm the control room where Razwell, apparently sat in wait. Jomei formed up with the rest of the group, taking a moment to look out past the opening to the hanger, considering the possibility of allowing the others to take on the Landonian Emperor while he avoided the crowds and made his way back home. The thought quickly came and went, however, as Jomei decided against it, rushing forth beside the others as the combined sound of their boots against the metal floor created a rumbling. They could only hope that Razwell would think twice about opposing them, hearing the small army of players charge his domanin

The Emperor was prepared for the players, and refused to go down without a fight. A small, elite force of their own stood between them and Razwell. As if that wasn't enough, some strange, magical effect sent the players off of their feet, as if the large, glass panes that blocked the rushing wind from pouring into the control room had shattered. Jomei found himself trying to fight the powerful gusts, bringing a forearm up in front of his form as he tried to balance himself. Eventually, his back hit the wall beside the door they pushed through, pinning him there momentarily.

The advancing elite guard met the players with heavy force, trying to create a wall to not only defend their ruler, but put an end to this insurrection. A spear wielding soldier rushed at Jomei, hoping to further pin the player to the wall of the control room. A quick block knocked the blade of the spear upwards, colliding with the wall beside Jomei's neck. Grabbing the spear just below the blade with his free hand, Jomei pinned the weapon in place as he held it tightly down against his shoulder, reciprocating with his own thrusting attack that pierced deep between the slots in the soldier's armor.

In the streets below, fires that resembled the resistance of Galtea against the tyranny and oppression of the Ladonian Monarchy continued to rage on. The Ifrit hung in the sky looming over the masses and clung there, casting its shadow and dominion over them all. A heavy hole in its side, smoldering with the wreckage of one of its own.

The hanger littered with shrapnel, the remains of a ship that had breached this impenetrable fortress. Empty and all that lingered was the tiny star like fractals still dancing through the air, remnants of the forces that be that would halt this rebellion. Still, players of all walks of life, of all volition and of all creed held fast and protected the control room.

Massive metallic doors of polished silver broken and bent lay scattered, to the many that had gathered and tore them down. Chairs left empty, and panels left damaged and sputtering electricity like blood. The insistent footfalls of varied weight, armor the same as a jarring alarm, began to scream out overhead in a low bellowing tone in a slow yet alarming pace.

*Weeeer….wooo….weeeer….wooo*

The Ifrit was losing altitude, the stabilizers on its side destroyed in its collision. Guards had turned yellow and began to flee for their lives, but in the cockpit a battle raged on. Razwell’s footing begins to slide as the entire ship wanes off to its starboard side, making footing difficult. Flashes of sword arts fire one after another, and The Grand Imperator struggles against them. Clashing against the barrier Razwell had held strong, keeping at bay that which would claim his life.

“Damnable fools, if you want something done right…” The man spat, reaching to his neck with his hand with that rock still floating above is other. A slight tug sees it loosen and reveal more of his throat. “You think you stand a chance, your number means nothing against a god.” That stone flashes and with a flick of the wrist a single jolt of electricity connects with and rattles the nerves of those in the front of the encounter. Their bodies seize and join the floor below, the strength to stand all but gone.

“I will crush you myself.”

But the gambit of them all had shown purchase. Although those that attacked did not see the man falter in his defense. Although they had drawn no blood, no light of his interior frame and what made him exist.

They had bought his attention.

The fractures on his crystal, his focus and the source of his power bloomed. The draw and pressure on this device had pushed it to its limits, and Razwell only manages to look down at his hand when it bursts. Bits of Aetherium fly in all directions, as the fates strength are scattered like bullets in a blinding flash of bluish light. Enveloping the entire chamber, the last thing the players will hear:

“What have you do..!?” Screamed out in a sentence cut abruptly short, and when the light finally clears, the players will find themselves scattered about the streets of Ladonia. The environment reset as if nothing had ever changed, such was the way of Aincrad. The world had forgotten Razwell, the Ifrit had all but vanished and in its wake was a single black feather.

The End
