  1. (Damnit! The tides have turned!)

I looked down at the blade that entered my abdomen, "Ah... Crap... You got me for once," I teased with a cocky smirk as he kicked me off of the sword and onto the ground. I rolled backwards, quickly taking up my stance once more and charging for Xion, my sword raised up...

But as I swung down my blade glanced off of his and I was sent off-balance and began to teeter to his right, one foot on the ground. I really wasn't in the best of positions.

  2. I felt sorry for the man when he told us he had lost his daughter, "My condolences. I'll be happy to help you find her," I told the hulking man with a sympathetic grin. However, the only thought that was racing around in my mind at that time was; She better be cute and not too young. I kinda regret that now.

Soon enough, another man turned up and stated something about Martial Arts. Now I was really interested, "Martial Arts you say? Sure, swinging a big sword around and chopping things to bits is rather satisfying, I have to agree, but punching and kicking something to death? That's more my style!" I commented. I was really hyped up to hear that I had an option that suited my style more, "I would like to conduct this quest at some point soon, but I am led to believe that only one player can get the skill from the quest?" I guessed. Quests usually did that, making you do it over and over again until everyone has the skill or quest item. Well, I know that from typical MMOs anyway.

"I was planning on making some pig-on-a-swords myself," I told the new man, pushing down obviously on the hilt of my large sword, "So of course I wouldn't mind hopping in a make believe boat with this little band of misfits we seem to have formed here," I joked.

But they didn't seem to be Brits like myself or Xion. Would they even take it as a joke?

  3. (I didn't stab you xD I friggin kicked the lights out of you XD)

I turned and positioned my sword at my left, pushing off towards my opponent. I watched him prepare a block once again, and I decided to aim directly for the blade...

The steel of my sword clashed with his, sending sparks flying as I dragged it across the fuller and down the edge, cutting into his side. I put my right foot forward and put my weight into my weapon, cleaving through Xion's side, causing me to spin right around and prepare for his next move.

  4. I watched my opponent back off and take a defensive stance. Poor guy, the grass really wanted him dead. Thankfully, the grass had blessed me with its grace as it had with my previous enemy. Maybe it was time for something other than sword combat...

I charged at Xion once again, blade poised in a stabbing position. However, his blade drifted over the section I was 'aiming' at. Unfortunate bastard, falling for yet another cheap feint. As I approached his three meter range, I brought my sword upright and flicked it forwards, spinning it through the air over Xion's left shoulder, before it sunk into the soft dirt. While he was thrown off, I leapt at him and swung my right hip around to the left, snapping my leg across his jaw. I landed on the grass and rolled to my weapon, pulling it out of the ground. I stood back up and looked over my right shoulder.

"The grass has found it's chosen one, I relieve," I taunted, a sly smile reaching all the way across my face.

  5. Xion's blade whistled past my ear, and I could have sworn that I felt a piece of hair become removed from my head. He jumped out of my reach and perched his sword over his shoulder. I couldn't tell if he was baiting me or not, but I had a surefire plan to get around it one way or another.

I bolted towards him again, the sunlight flashing off of my blade as I made a beeline for him. Most likely he thought I'd slow down to a attack him. Answer; no.

"The grass is in my favour, my friend," I teased as I dropped to the ground, keeping my momentum as I slid on my heels and back, my sword placed on my abdomen and pointing to my right. My weapon sliced into Xion's knee as I slid through his legs and out the other side, standing back up with my sword over my shoulders, a cocky smirk on my face.

  6. "May the grass be with you," I said, before dashing off at full speed, hand on the hilt of my still sheathed sword. I skipped from side to side as I ran, attempting to confuse him. When I approached his immediate area I stopped and leaned back on my right leg. I unhilted my sword and proceeded to make a slashing motion with my left arm as I unsheathed the entire sword...

But I didn't bring the sword with the slash. I watched as Xion attempted to block the feint and I grinned slyly as I pivoted my left foot to the side and I brought the sword up to Xion's side with my right before grabbing the end of the handle with my left and bringing the blade around, cleaving through Xion's side. My silver eyes glanced up at my opponent as I waited for his move.

(If you don't agree with me having Xion feint, tell me and I'll edit my post)

  7. The cool water rushed down my parched throat as I sculled one of the bottles I was given when I first entered the game. No idea why I didn't bother having any the day before. Stupidity on my behalf. However, when I noticed a giant of a man and a small, blond boy conversing, my lips left the neck of the bottle for but a moment and the rest of the water spilled on my nice starter clothes. Okay, I lied, they weren't nice but they were bloody well more comfortable when dry.

I threw the empty bottle aside and approach the two males, my right hand pressing down on the hilt of my weapon. The young boy seemed to have a one handed sword sheathed at his side - but the large man didn't seem to have any form of weaponry. Was his weapon concealed? It was really only daggers that could be concealed easily, and boy would my imagination have to be massive to think of that man using a dagger. Was it stashed away in his inventory? I've heard of some people doing that, but it was highly unconventional. Or maybe he just didn't get a starter weapon?

"Hey! What's shaking?" I asked, trying to make a good first impression. I bet my Brit accent carried my attitude and looks just fine, "I notice that you don't have a weapon on you. What happened?" I asked, fairly curious, almost forgetting that the boy was there.

  8. A strange girl stopped me in my tracks and joked about me killing the tree. My response? "Yeah, you bet I did!" I joked back, a wide grin on my face. She introduced herself as Eliza, "Name's Grave. Nice to meet you too," I extended a hand out to her in greeting. I would have been surprised if she didn't shake my hand. After all, she seemed to be something of a people person like myself. I felt like me and her would get along just fine.

"So, you wanna go kill something with me? I'm kinda bored as you can see, and am in need of company," I informed her, before realising I could throw a shameless flirt in there, "Thankfully that 'company' happens to be a pretty girl like yourself," I complimented her with a wink.

I was most likely going to receive a massive slap for that...

(In this thread I'll stay as level 1 until we kill a Boar, as I was level 2 in a thread that takes place after this)

  9. I paused down on the hilt of my sword as I gave a look of challenge to Xion, "As I said earlier, sounds fun," I replied before giving him a wink, "Why the bloody hell not? I just levelled up, so got all my health back, I don't see a problem with having a friendly duel," I navigated through my menus and proceeded to put in the details.

My opponent was Xion, and the type of duel was Half Loss, meaning we only had to bring the other into the yellow zone. That was going to be harder to do with Xion, but hopefully the grass was in my favour. I sent the Duel request to Xion and awaited his reaction.

  10. I gave Xion a wide grin as he basically said that he was going to avenge me. Us Brits really get defensive of our own people. I watch as he took on the Boar and finally hit the bastard, and rather powerfully, I must say. It wasn't a surprise that the pig was more ticked off with him than with me at that stage.

"Looks like the grass wanted to say sorry for once," I replied as I took up my stance once again. The creature was more than disoriented. When it charged at me, I could have sworn it was going cross-eyed. I crouched low before charging at the pig, sword right back. As I was about to make contact with it, I stopped short and brought my blade forward, letting the creature run into it, cutting itself right down the centre. I made one final push and sliced through the other end, leaping past and flipping backwards, landing in a crouching position behind my prey. I swung my sword out wide before sliding it back into my sheath as the Boar shattered into thousands of blue shards of data.

I stood up and turned around as I wiped the virtual sweat off my forehead, "I think the grass decided to give us a second chance," I joked as I approached him, fist outstretched towards him.

  11. My eyes opened to the afternoon sun streaming into my vision. I had that same damn dream again - the one of that blue haired woman, who led me down a set of well lit stone corridors. Light streamed around her, covering her in a cloak of light and blocking view of what was underneath. Was she clothed? Armored? Armed? Or was she completely undressed? They were questions that flew through my mind every time I had that damn dream. However, each time I had it, I got further and further into the corridor, finding a new corner each time. Will I ever get to the end of it?

I sat up and clutched my knee in close to my chest and watched the grass around my foot, hoping maybe might happen in the next five seconds. Disappointed, I extended my arms behind me and pushed myself up onto my feet and placed my right hand on the hilt of my longsword, pushing down on it.

Maybe something else interesting was going to happen that afternoon? I'd already met two friendly players, one female and one male, in the early hours of the morning, before befriending a fellow Brit around noon and making some rather terrible jokes with him. What was going to be next? A female by herself?

  12. (I noticed you did a cheeky double-roll xD I was watching the dice rolls)

I watched as my fellow Brit blocked the Boar's oncoming attack and knocked it away, "Thanks for that," I replied as I backed off a little more. Attacking any further might have been a bad idea, so I decided not to attack the creature, instead leaving Xion to take care of it. After all, I was still quite low level.

I turned to Xion, "Think you can hit the damn thing this time? I mean, I've hit it twice, and well... The grass hates you," I gave him and ear-to-ear grin as I continued on our silly joke.

  13. (Loot has to meet two requirements: Floor Level x 2 health, which we have more than which is good, and at least half the highest level player's health as it's health, which in this case would be 9. Also, if I get too low I'd appreciate it if you'd take a bullet for me, even with the Hate system xD I don't want a second character to die in a row)

I watched Xion try and take a bullet for me, only for him to get pushed out the way and have me be the one skewered instead. Thankfully, it wasn't as heavy a blow as it was just a moment before. I began to push back on the boar and after knocking it backwards, I thrusted my blade into the pig's snout, spearing it through the centre. I pulled the blade out and pulled back, realising I had just aggravated it more.

Great timing. I felt my most recent injury heal itself up, and I watched my health bar rise a smidge in the corner of my view. It pays to have battle healing.

  14. (Um, yeah... Ow ;-; )

"Sounds fun," I replied nonchalantly, turning to face my comrade. I watched him charge off and take on the Boar, but it was aimed right for me! I couldn't bring my hefty sword up in time to block and the tusks impaled me right in the chest. I heard Xion speak while I attempted to fling the oversized pig off me, "Yeah... You don't... Say... Genius..." I retorted sarcastically before pushing the Boar off of me and aiming an overhead swing at it, but the Boar just skittered backwards and my blade bit the soft dirt below.

"Ah, bloody hell, we better get something from this," I complained as I stood back, my left arm across my chest.

(Aaaaaand Grave's gonna be disappointed when we get zilch from the mob xD It's health'd need to be AT LEAST 9 for it to drop any of the goodies. Hopefully next roll I'll get a 10 on the CD so I can heal a bit of the damage)

  15. I chuckled even further at our joke conversation. I watched as Xion got grazed by the boar, chipping a tiny bit of his health off, before he came back and began to shout.

"You alright getting your ass handed to you?" I asked jokingly, before I spun on my heels and took on the boar again, swinging my blade in a lever action and cleaving into and out of the side of the boar cleanly. I quickly made my escape back to Xion and looked at him, "Please repeat your last comment, my friend," I asked sarcastically. I turned back around to face the now very, very mad boar as it readied for a second charge, "Well, your problem now," I allowed him to step towards the oncoming threat.

(I know he's actually going to try and get me, though, unless you hit him beforehand)

  16. I laughed as Xion used my own ego-guardian as his own joke, "See what I mean? The grass really is slippery, I'm telling you," I said as I slid my longsword back out of its sheath and held it at my right, backhand once again. I rush the piggie, but I soon realised the mob was doing the same. I decided to set the stage for my own little joke...

As I was about to make contact with the boar, I pushed off into the air, "Alley-oop!" I called as I flipped over the muscly creature, turning around to see it slide to a stop. I turned my attention back to Xion, holding my sword up as I spoke.

"Seems like the boar thinks so too," I retorted with my own horrible joke.

My, we were a pair of terrible Brits.

  17. "Same to you. I mean, I can hear their speech perfectly as English... but they all sound bloody American, even the J-P folks. Always good to hear some kind of familiar accent," I replied, rather surprised myself. SAO seemed to be very restricted to the J-P guys, but it looked like there were a few who managed to get imports to their own country. Most of them possibly illegal, I would say, but that's a debate for another day.

I was foiled, and Xion had finally driven an iron stake into my already bruised ego, "Ah, right, right. I should probably... Pick better excuses next time, huh?" I played along with him. One more mess up and I'd end up splitting my kingly ego right down the middle. I watched him point it the boar, "Well... Yeah, it was going to be my lunch, but... The stupid grass made me trip," I replied sarcastically, pushing my hand down on the hilt of my weapon.

  18. I wiped the stupid dirt out of my eyes to watch a player pick up my sword. Was he trying to kill me?! Answer; no. I watched him plunge the blade into the earth in front of me before extending a hand to me to help me up. I flashed him a little grin and swung my right hand up, grabbing his wrist and allowing him to pull me to my feet.

After he introduced himself as Xion, I replied in my usually thick British accent, "Name's Grave. Don't be put off by it, I'm quite the party animal," I told him, before looking over my dirtied armour, "This grass is so damn slippery though, eh?" I added in a far-fetched attempt to keep my ego intact, scratching the back of my head and rubbing my foot on the grass. Nope, this grass ain't slippery, I thought, disappointed, but I still kept the ego-keeping façade.

I grabbed the handle of my sword and swung it out to my right before sliding it behind me into the housing of my sheath until I heard it click. I looked Xion in the eyes, "I was gonna go make some pig skewers. Wanna help out? I'm still getting the hang of combat though," I gave a little chuckle, "I mean, for Pete's sake, I was attacking a bloody tree early this morning. Please, call me crazy or something," I told him, before waiting a little.

A hearty laugh from myself soon followed.

  19. I yawned into the breeze as I laid in the lush grass on one of the few small hills on floor one. The thought went through my my mind, I wonder what the most peaceful floor is?. I'd heard a couple of rumours in the Town of Beginnings that the third floor wasn't half bad to chill in, but I wasn't taking my chances just yet. I opened my eyes and sat up, scanning the fields below me. There was a roaming boar nearby, and this I thought I might go skewer an oversized pig.

I pushed onto my feet and slid down the hill while unholy ing my longsword from the back of my waist, holding it in my comfortable backhand position, right hand below the guard with my thumb facing the pommel, my left hand place above it, facing the opposite way. Once I hit the flat of the hill, I took off, sprinting towards the boar...

And I disgracefully kicked a tree stump, sending me head-over-heels into the earth, more than a hundred meters away from my intended target. As I had stupid dirt in my eyes, I felt around for my sword with both hands, only to feel the cold metal impale the soft dirt in between my left thumb and index finger. My head dropped in disappointment, but perked up, eyes still freaking closed when I heard soft footsteps behind me.

  20. My wild, silver hair blew around in the wind as I faced my opponent. I placed my right hand on my longsword at the back of my waist and unsheathed it, holding the handle backwards with my left hand placed at the bottom of the handle, facing towards the hilt. I eyed my opponent carefully, my left foot placed in front of my right, before I dashed forwards and slashed around from right to left in a wide arc, the blade glowing a sky blue...

To have the blade enter the side of a tree. I mean, come on! It looked awesome! Well, from

My point of view anyway. I pulled the sword out in a lever action and sheathed it once again. I glared at the virtual mark I had made on the tree in disappointment. This ought to be nothing like fighting an actual creature, I complained to myself. I turned from the tree to see a field full of boars under the blue sky. I gave a smirk at the thought of fighting them.

"Death in this game's supposed to be real, right? Shouldn't be too hard not to avoid that happening," I said as I strolled over to the field, hand on the hilt of my weapon.

I was hoping death wasn't going to be a problem, anyway.

(EDIT: Changed to first person perspective)
